whats the difference shearers out frames
thesoultaker2117 replied to badbanshee509's topic in Drag Forum
This is the best way i ever heard it put. Speed isnt only about motor. Its as much rider comfortability than anything. If its too much motor for you to handle, youll spend more time trying to fight it rather than dumping the clutch and going. This single post here would be well worth a long conversation and someone definitely should post ideas on comfortable setups for certain track conditions for people to reference and use. Racing isnt only about being the fastest......its about being the fastest knowing that your beating the fastest. -

Im not busting on snipers at all. They are great pipes. A bitch to tune in, but work amazing on low to mid range. I never had a lack of pull. They have a great sound. Just my machine is already built for low to mid. I wanna scrape some top end out of it and pipes are one of the best way to do it. No offense, but how can people knock things they haven't tried. Jim smart is an enthusiast. Key word there enthusiast. He is trying to find what works the best and make the best power available to the customer. Sorry i just see no apparent reason to knock him

I got a personal passion built cub. Belonged to jim smart at passion himself. Tranny is not duneable but is a 1-5 neutral down. Great shape. I have vf4s and 39s. Custom cut domes although one has some damage from a crank bearing going out. Cases are new. Bore is fairly new. Crank was re-trued and welded. Tz and maxload. Hinson spring loaded basket, lock-up and cover. Polished. Cool head shell. Pipes maybe?

Have a set of sniper oofs for sale. One of the first original sets from jim. Looking to get 500 out if them. Two minor dings and one from pipe rubbing motor mount. Great pipes. Or will trade for a set of shearers

banshee yz490 basket
thesoultaker2117 replied to thesoultaker2117's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I believe the ratio is the same. I had it in my 421 cub 3 yrs ago. I remember counting the teeth. The gears are just shy the same thickness. The basket is different and where as it may not be necessary for motors under a 100hp, thats still unwanted crank pressure. And if you are concerned about the basket, im sure aftermarket 490 baskets can still be found as years ago they used to be the bike of choice for drag racing -
Ive got a mod for you guys on limited funds.....i stumbled on to this by total accident. Take a yz 490 basket and crank gear and a little different washer spacing, using a banshee inner hub and youll have straight cuts. Now it may not be fine on high horse power motors but should work great on low hp up to 80hp. You will need to use the 490 fibers but other than that the mod worked great and is now in my buddies trail bike.

Whats the issue with the snipers? I have had a set for 2yrs and they work perfect. I have the original oofs gary tested on the cub which i also now own. Its like any new product. You can bash it or try it for yourself. All the hostility. Each rider has a different preference towards set up. http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj571/Thesoultaker2117/EIMG_20110908_133529-1_zpsdf5e9f05.jpg

Carlisle turf tamers with a row cut out after every three seems to be the tire of choice on small drag banshees on a dirt/clay mix -

I was giving building a chassis a shot. I scraped up a few ideas from a couple different chassis designs and came up with this....let me know what you think.. http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj571/Thesoultaker2117/56f04f32.jpg

I have a set of 18cc domes cut for 68mm cub cylinders. Not sure what angle kevin cut them at. Done by kevin at hjr. Squish clearance was way to tight for my cylinders. Brand new never used. 50 bucks or best offer

Hello, i have a stock ignition for sale. Has after market stator plate and is a ricky stator high output. Plug is 4a pin with two other wires coming out seperate. Harness and coil available. Harness has been simplified for drag racing. Flywheel will be with it. Make an offer. Text me at 8145058437

Sounds like a pilot jet problem to me. If its warming up and fouling the plugs....could be an issue with to much fuel on the bottom. Swap needles or pilot jets to tune it in. If anything id think the cages would help with your issues. Other possible causes could be a coolant leak.

96 polaris xcr 600 triple
thesoultaker2117 replied to thesoultaker2117's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Now not just for the chassis set up...i have that pretty well under control. Building this motor. Best ways to make power. I know these 38and mikuni roundslides have to go. Same with the 3 into 1 pipe. Other than buying actual aftermarket pipes for it.....what could i do there. Porting...port durations....rotary valve intake durations. I dont know where to start. You can shoot me a text. 8145058437 -
