  2. Trying to sell complete motor 1st as I stated in the post. Once it goes, I will add pricing to everything else. I either need to sell as a running quad or part it out, dont wanna be stuck with a motor and frame when the dust settles.
  3. Parting out my Banshee. Majority of the parts were installed Feb. this year. I actually posted on here as I built it up and was done, with pics. Less than ten total rides on everything. The motor has 125 psi comp per cylinder, stock stroke/port and has very low hours on it. (This banshee sat for years in a friends garage before I bought it) Pulls Hard and starts right up. It has only had Klotz Techniplate 40:1 & Flexdrive 30 in it. It has never needed to be opened up beyond clutch side w/ the modds listed below.   6. Check chain rollers and chain tension while sitting on it. Too tight of a chain will make noise on bumps and when coasting as the engine noise is lower allowing u to hear it slowly wear your rollers/sprokets.
  7. If u advance ur timing more than 4 degrees or run 20 sizes domes or smaller then higher octane gas would be required. Also dont add to much comp if u have a stock crank either. I have a prodesign cool head with 22 domes and it puts me 10psi higher than stock for my elevation. I already have a pwr rad and high flow impeller, so this only helped 5 degrees or so. I think the "cool" part of the coolhead is just that it is cool to be able to adjust your comp, not majorly cool your engine.
  8. I purchased the 75.00 yamaha book from the local stealership and it sucks. I have to agree with BigBlock. It is good for clearances and readings, but pics suck and the step by step is more like step by 3 steps at a time. Would I spend even more $ to get a clymers, no. I learned more by the 20.00 dvd I bought off a member on here, took me to split'n the cases and back.

  10. Bumped up to 148 main, take it out in a day or two and report back, any other suggestions by people that have had this issue, feel free to keep the comments/thoughts coming!
  11. UPDATE--- Took it out today. New ignition caps/terminals. 91 oct mixed with 40:1 klotz. Dual Pingel valve installed. Holly crap it pulls crazy now! Does not have the "lurtch" 1-5th wot, but now 6th is the only gear still lurtching, but now at 3/4 - wot, vs just after half. Seems now that I got the right fuel and electrical tight, might need to jet back up on the main. Thanks AK.H. for the recommendation on the fuel change.
  12. I was running sunoco 260gt 100oct. It said on the drum it was made to mix with any 2 stroke syn lube. I still had the same problems. But I am going to run 91 pump with the next tank for sure, just to weed that out. I was only running the sunoco because I didnt want the ethonol crap, or fuel stabilizer crap in my tank. Cleaned it out 4 months ago and man......little gel bb's everywhere, so I wanted a cleaner fuel that stays good for years on end. New double crimp msd gold connectors on, drove it up and down the street in 1st,2nd wot and no "lurtch", but I will take it out this weekend go thru the gears and run 91. I am at 130 comp. 22cc domes.
  13. Have u ohmed out your spark plug wire/boot lengths for continuity? The harness from cdi to coil? Freshly sanded area at voltage reg ground lug near grab bar??
  14. From starting at 155 main, it has done the same thing as the 145 main. Looks like most peeps around 2600+ feet with my set up are runing 145-150 main

I know u are not really getting your answer on stock pipes + aftermarket silencers, but really.....as stated above u can get a full pipe set up with silencers used in great condition right here on the for sale section for the same $$. Oh, yea I just repacked my SST pipe silencers and its really super low on noise. Sure the people next door thank me

  17. For the 2nd time.....my clutch is solid. Its a brand new fast clutch, pancake bearing and I can drop it on pavement and burn rubber. Oh yeah and my carb floats are set to 19mm and rebuild this spring.
  18. 1st read all the stickys above your post. The elecrtical faq will have your answer and a wiring diagram.
  19. Both plugs gap @.026 I new I was rich at my 50/150 jetting, plugs were black and low power and had to turn screws out 2 turns or more. Here is a pic of the plug with that set up. Since then I switched to klotz technoplate 40:1 and run 110LL. Worked down to 45/145 jets. Here is a pic after 1hr on new plugs....Comments????? Also I have the blue nkg non-resistive caps & resistive plugs (dont know if thats right) Took them apart and found the shitty shark teeth that are supposed to bite into the spark plug wire barely in. They actually came off and left me with this........Gunna solder fresh wire to the connectors, so I know its a permanent solid connection. I am hopeful it is this, but why only at wot with the electrical? Wouldnt it be through out? Starts up 1st kick. Also for what its worth I have the dyna ignition and cdi in stock mode.
  20. Jetted down to 45/145 middle clip on the needle. 2700ft elevation. One turn out. Pulling a #7 on the sync tool on idle. Took the Tusk Vent'r off, ran just a 5/16 tube off the Tusk Gas Cap (no vent on cap) Pulls very hard till 5/8 of throtle, then if I peg it to wot it just stays the same speed then "pulses" in 2-4 second waves on/off with throt while I hold it down. Mostly in 3-6. Got a dual pingle on the way. Was really hoping the little chrome venter was causing a vacuum issue in the tank. After I rebuilt the shee I actually started @ 55/155 on the pilot/main and worked my way down. And no, I have a brand new fast clutch in it and it works great. ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE ???????????
