  1. If you'll take 40 shipped for the tors kit i'll take it!!
  2. I actually did just change the plugs and clean the carbs. I actually just bought the bike a couple of weeks ago and its been like this since. It starts and runs great, just smokes out right tailpipe and bogs at wot. The main jet is 200 an pilot is 25. Think i should try a larger jet in both or just one? And should the cable from the throttle switch be cut like that?
  3. 've been chasing a problem im having with my bike for a couple weeks now and cannot figure it out. Rips from a stop to the point of where powerband should be kickin in and then just falls on its ass and holds back. Now i am in the process of taking apart and checking the wiring harness and i noticed a couple of things. The person before me attempted a half ass removal of the tors system. They have the throttle assembly, and carb connections disconnected, and the tors box still connected. They also have cut the wires that are coming from the thumb throttle assembly. There is no proper kit installed and i have been trying to tune and sync the carbs with no result and im leaning towards this being my problem. Im gonna order the kit and get this done the proper way. I would just like to know what you guys think.
  4. As far as i know the bike is stock, only fmf slip ons. Air box lid is back on. stock carbs, 200 main, 25 pilot. Just did a compression test and both cylinders were around 115-120. Not sure of my elevation but not far from sea level. New headgasket and still smoking out right side and wont hit power band. Someone along the liines also did a rewire of the tors system. Seems to be ok. Bike starts right up and runs good , just smokes out right side and bogs before the powerband. I cannot figure this out for the life of me. Any ideas?
  5. I'm thinking that the coil pack or the wires are bad as well. Where the wires go into the coil box there is no clip. They are inside the box and there is some type of puddy around them. I tried testing the wires and coil today but i cant get any reading at all. Im using a good Mac tools meter so i know its not that. The bike starts up and runs great. Just burns alot of smoke out the right side and has no powerband whatsover.
  6. what should i try first? Larger or smaller jets. Both or just the main?
  7. Thanks, so is that the stock size jets. Also the only other mod i know of is fmf slip ons. Other than that i believe its stock. Could this be causing the complete loss of powerband?
  8. I seem to be running quite rich out of the right cylinder. I pulled the carb out and from what i see it looks clean. I believe its the stock mikuni carbs. Main is 200, pilot is 25 and the airbox lid is removed. i just recently purchased it this way and im trying to get it to run correctly. Bogs like crazy when it should be hitting powerband. Any thoughts on those jet sizes.
  9. Also the kill switch is not hooked up and i cannot figure out what wires are associated with that to fix it. Sorry to keep reposting but i keep remembering things after i post. haha
  10. i checked the head when i replaced the head gasket. No warp on the cover or head. I was tracing wires in the harness last night and i noticed a couple solenoids that were disconnected. Each of the throttle assemblies has a wire coming out of it and neither is connected to anything. There are also two female connections that are not connected to anything and im assuming that it is where they are supposed to be connected. Now i have read somewhere on here that people do a rewiring of the throttle for some reason. What exactly is it for? And the first day i got the bike i noticed a black wire with a ring connector on the end at the back of the bike coming out of one of the harnesses. I connected it to the frame as i thought it was of importance. Last night when i was tracing these wires i remembered about doing this and tried disconnecting it. It started as normal but idles MUCH better. Still smoke out the tailpipe but it def looks like fuel and oil, not as white. Any ideas on what this wiring deal is?
  11. Isn't the only way coolant would be in the cylinder or the crankcase is if there was a crack in the head or crankcase. It's supposed to flow throught ports in the motor. Not in the motor itself.
  12. Yea i was planning on purchasing a manual. Just been so frustrated with this thing i've been thinking about just selling it. i dont have near as much time as i used to since we now have two children. So any ideas along the lines of the spark plug wire. I was going to try a compression test but i guess that wont tell me what i would need to know huh?
  13. wow, all i gotta say is this could quite possibly be the best forums site i have ever belonged to. Thanks for all the replies, haha. Anyways, changed the headgasket last night and finally got it out to take a couple rips. There definitely seems to be much less white smoke, but still smoke nonetheless. Now it is quite a bit quicker from takeoff but still when the powerband shold be rolling in it just feels like nothing, wants to pull but cant. Still a good bit of smoke at this point. I did however notice another possible option. I had it running at idle and was moving around the spark plug wire and the idle starting changing and then it seemed like it was stuck at wot. Turning the key off didnt even shut it down. Had to put it in gear and stall it. Also the box where the plug wires run to has some type of puddy around the wires. I assume a coil pack or whatever it is that a two stroke uses. Now im thinking about taking off the clutch cover to check the crank seal but i could use some assistance in what exactly im looking for. Is it just one or two seals? And what type of seal? I've been working on and building cars for quite some time so doing the actual work is no problem just have never done a two sroke. Again, thanks for all the help this far!!!
  14. ok so i just got done changing the headgasket and it seems to be alittle better. i didnt get the oppurtunity to actually drive it as i live in the city area so it was just at idle. when i got the gasket off it seemed ok but im pretty sure there was coolant sitting on top of the piston. now it may have spilled in when i took the head cover off but im not too sure. anyways the guy i brought it from told me that not too long ago he cnanged the crank seals which makes me think that it may not have been done correctly. if it would be the crank seals could that be causing the loss of power as well. and how would it cause that since the crank seals are in the crankcase. thanks for all the replies guys. good stuff , i gotta figure this out, its killing me. haha
  15. I have a 92 banshee that I recently purchased. Haven't had alot of experience with two strokes. It starts and idles good but smokes a bit of white smoke out the right side tailpipe at idle. In any fear while driving as soon as I try giving it wot it just feels like it's holding back and won't get in the powerband at all and blows a shitload of white smoke. Now I'm guessing that I have a bad headgasket and I got coolant in that cylinder head. But will that cause the complete loss of power like that ? Just wanna get some opions before I pop the headgasket out? Thanks guys
