Dude i got a banshee and 4 days later it blew up!!! I didnt even get 15hrs outta it.. Guy said it had 180lbs of compression.. My ass!! I should just tore it apart from the get go.. Cant take many peoples word on anything anymore.. But just rebuilt it right!!! Once i get her rebuilt.. She will be tore apart every winter make sure shes good !!!!!!!

How many hrs were on the top end? You could have just waited a little to long to do a rebuild!!

Lets jus hope you cylinders are still good.. I locked mine up.. sent my cylinders out turns out there junk... Had a crack threw the intake ports.... Shopp around man... sponsors have great prices on motor work, like porting, boring , honingg.. But there price for parts.. Like pistons and rings.. are a little more then what i been finding .. Right now the 15-20 price difference on the parts is a big deal for me to get her running asap!!!!.So before you go spending all this cash.. Do some searching !! And as always ASK a question!! Only dumb question is the one you dont ask!! And try the shoutbox ... you can find some knowledgeable guys on there if they take a break from spankin off

Yea i plan on using 1000 or 2000 degree hi temp.. I do plan on sanding 800phelps recommended 320 grit ...he seemed very knowledgable.about the process.... I jus need to pic up some paint and try it out!! I will be postin up pics !!! thanx

Ive had a similar problem.. Never had any pop noise... But i fouled out 1 of the plugs and it was just running on 1 cylinder.. Same side effects, I took the plugs out, lil 2+2 carb cleaner... lil sand paper action... Fired right up,.. solved my problems... So like Jere said.. start with the little stuff!!! No reason to tear a motor apart if it could be something outside of the motor!!!!

if its the clutch it wouldnt pull hard in the first 3 gears.... it would rev up and slip everytime u hit the PB... take ur clutch apart and look at the plates... Or maybe ur cable adjustment is off... I burned a clutch riding for 10 mins with a bad clutch adjustment... I know onmy old 4 stroke.. with there torque.. a clutch going bad is a no brainer.!!!!!

I got chrome t-5's but im debaiting to sand em down and paint them with a flat black hi temp paint!!! ive done it with a few other pipes... But nothinng with chrome plating!! I plan on sanding the pipes with 400 grit and sanding in the direction of the exhaust flow.. cleaning them with wit acetone.. and throwing down some paint!!! If anyone has painted the chrome pipes before let me know you process and how it turned out.... I got a buncha polished billet aluminum covers.. I think with my bike being black it would look badass!! give me the opinions come on!!!
