Sandman I haven't seen you so upset since you and builder got caught naked together.
I talked to Werner cool guy. He just never made connection that his old carbs could be problem and not the domes.
We will have him taken care of. But thanks for the back up sandy. Lol
I talked with Werner after I saw this post. I was concerned the domes I had cut were causing damage to his mtr. After goin over how he checked his squish, his kicking psi, ign timing we went to carbs. He had bought an unknown set of 33pwk carbs . To make these carbs run he had to lean his jetting way to far down. He then bought a new set of 35 pwk carbs, which run standard jetting for a 4 mm cub. The new carbs according to him run way better.
So the main problem was probably his jacked up carbs. This is why I never recommend buying used carbs unless they are off a known good running bike.
My point is by reading his post it makes me look like I cut bad domes. Not disclosing the fact he bought carbs that didn't work and he leaned into the mtr with jetting. A dome with .050 squish with proper squish angle with a standard width band doesn't blow o-rings at 150 psi.
So people before you make a post that may be taken wrong way by many people ASK YOUR BUILDER!!!!! Tell all info....... What ALL CHANGES YOU HAVE MADE to bike in last few month.
I am not knocking Werner by any means just using him as an example ( sorry Werner ) . I could go on and on but I'm not windy . Lol
Sorry to vent but I see post like this on here all the time.
Motor is dune ported, custom domes, billet timing plate , v-3 reeds, 35pwk carbs, CPI pipes. Motor is on race gas. Tyler is correct we bored mtr .080 over.
I've built quite a few of them. CPI sleeves are good head doesn't always hold o rings so well. With the kit, machine work, port work..... It is not cost effective compared to a cub. They can run very well. If you do one start with perfect cylinders. There are no room for helicoils on stud holes down the road. CAM
I don't run very many PVL ignitions. But when I do I run diodes and one kill switch. I just go to RadioShack and buy some. Sorry I dont remember what size.
If you know who is building it I'd ask him. Dan is super easy to get ahold of to bounce questions off of. JMO do a 10 mm cub ..... When your bored with that than do a DM.
If you are in 5th gear cruising and come to a large incline you can down shift to climb the incline no problem. You can down shift to keep bike in correct power range for your riding application. Just don't be going topped out than start shifting down to slow down. Dunables are better for back load than standard trannies. But they are not stock.
I use to run it but clean up is horrible. It sticks to everything , completely trashes a good solvent tank. Works well but pain to clean. I used the blue one.
