  1. heres some pics of the fronts on my banshee and raptor that i sanded and torched. plastics are a little dirty at the moment and the pics are with my phone.
  2. i marked it with tape and used a dremmel multi tool, the first time i used a hack saw blade. then i sanded down the edges, then took a propane torch and went over the sanded edge to make it look factory.
  3. i used all raptor 700 stuff (all the same as 450 except taller shocks, also i have an 06 700 so i didnt have ressi shocks) and i dont have as bad of a ball joint angle and ride height as the ones with 450 shocks. i have the shocks at the softest setting so it sits a little lower than it could but i dont need the clearance for the sand. fully compressed
  4. ya everything on the raptors front end is same as a yfz except for taller shocks, i put my entire stock raptor front end on my banshee when i got it cause the stock stuff was bent and i used a how to for yfz450 suspension.
  5. he could have wrecked it and just bought a new frame for it. i bought a wrecked one and then bought a brand new frame still in the yamaha crate and it had no vin number on it. my dealership told me i could just stamp it in myself and make sure no one else gets ahold of the old frame, or cut the vin off the old frame and take it into the dmv. they said when they do the work, they destroy the old frame and stamp the vin in the new one.
  6. are you the original owner? if not i wonder if the previous owner bought a new frame? that would explain the no vin number.
  7. i agree with checking sponsors first, u gotta support the people that support us. but i also want to add thay the SLC is not just another ebay swing arm, they are the only swing arm i would buy from ebay. i have seen many of the ebay ones tear the metal and not break the weld and that is from cheep chineese steel not 4130 chromoly
  8. i used all raptor 700 stuff including shocks, aluminum spindles/hubs and brakes. the arms are the same as a yfz, but the shocks are longer. i dont seem to have the camber problem everyone is talking about, is everyone using banshee spindles with yfz arms? that might be a problem? all i can say is my setup is night and day compared to stock, it handles much better, rides better and a huge improvement on the brakes. although i really like the setup, i had all of the suspension sitting in my shop when i got the banshee and if i didnt already have it all i probably would have just bought aftermarket. so unless you can get the entire raptor/yfz setup (arms, spindles ect.) for a really good deal i would just go aftermarket.
  9. the ones from slcquad customs in eugene, or are very nice. known to be one of the best for the raptors and if they can hold up to a 430+ pound raptor, im sure they will hold up to the banshee. im planning on getting the ladder bar one for my raptor and probably the round tube one for the banshee.
  10. all the parts that i used i already had, so my swap was free. i now have aluminum spindles, dual piston calipers and it rides smoother and more stable. i agree arms made for it are probably better and if i didnt have the parts already i would have looked at aftermarket arms/shocks for it, but imo this setup is better than stock shocks w/ aftermarket arms.
  11. the yfz and raptor 700 use the same exact suspension except for shocks, so you can get the a arms off either one (i also recomend getting the spindles, hubs and brakes if possible, if not try to atleast get the spindles cause it will give you a little more travel). you will need new tie rods (i bought lone star 13.5" raptor 700 tie rods) cause stocks (12 3/8" i believe) are too short. then you swap the top arms (left goes on right side and right on left side) and you cut the bottoms so they are 1 7/8" from outside of one bushing to outside of other. i will try to get some close up pictures tonight. heres the thread i used to do my conversion http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69059&hl=yfz+450
  12. i bought these tires for my raptor because of the price and i have to say, they are a good alternative to haulers( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Sand-Hauler-Paddle-Tire-Set-2-Rear-ATV-Paddle-Tire-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem336112e9a9QQitemZ220671961513QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories ). i am pretty new to banshee's so im not sure if those would be too much tire for almost stock banshee? ive only taken my banshee to the dunes once and ran the 20" sandstars off my raptor on it and i had a blast, i never got a chance to swap tires with my raptor to try them.
  13. just do a search on ebay, theres all sorts of graphics from $40 to $200. they have monster ones if thats what you want or flames or tribal designs http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AMR-RACING-ATV-GRAPHIC-KIT-STICKER-YAMAHA-BANSHEE-350-R-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2eafe3bed3QQitemZ200519433939QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/N-STYLE-MONSTER-GRAPHICS-YAMAHA-BANSHEE-BLACK-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4152bcc837QQitemZ280560977975QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AMR-QUAD-GRAPHICS-KIT-STICKERS-DECAL-YAMAHA-BANSHEE-350-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem53e3950da4QQitemZ360300481956QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  14. the parts from any year raptor 700 (so 06 to current) are the same as yfz450, except for the shocks ( the raptors are taller and 06 had non reservoir shocks). i have the raptor shocks on mine and it seems to have a great turning radius and does awsome through the trees and tight stuff at the dunes (better than my raptor) so i think it might have to do with the camber from the height difference between the yfz and raptor shocks. as for the yfz and raptor shocks you can have them rebuilt to be damn near as good as aftermarket shocks, josh at wiigstyle racing is one of the best for raptor and yfz shocks, he can do everything to them, shorten/lengthen, dual rate springs, revalve and so on.
  15. i have the same setup but i got all my stuff off of a raptor 700 including calipers and everything. with the raptor shocks it sits higher and the camber is alot better than yfz shocks. the brakes are a huge improvement over stock and i havent noticed any turning issues or anything, it rides smooth and handles the woops and tight trails great.
