  1. I would like to see more pics. Is there any thin wrong with the plastics looked like maybe some damage in the front or could be dirty thanks!!!
  2. Just got my 2002 shee frame back from powdercoat shop. I have a set of cases but crank was shot. So i am needing some advice about a good solid dune build. Nothing mild and nothing extream! Also need jugs is it better to get stocks and have them worked? Or should i go aftermarket? Porting and polish i had Alba do my last jugs and after 5 weeks and the jugs being sent to Florida(i live in New Mexico) So add a week for that (got a free graphics kit out of it) I wasnt real impressed with the port work!! Also expensive i thought, weisco top end kit and p&p on jugs= $1000!! is this expensive? So looking for a good machine shop to do p&p, Which brings this long winded topic to Transmission. The front gear was welded to the output shaft so need tranny also. Any and all help, advice,etc,etc...... will be greatly appreciated. Since i am out of breath ill shut up lol thanks
  3. Everything is fresh put the engine together about a month ago this was second trip. The first trip almost burned up a cylinder plug fouled and being new didnt have xtra plugs with me. Problem was carbs i rebuilt rejetted but carbs were wore out. So second run was with 2 to 1 which i ordered supposedly with the right jetting for my setup and elevation. But after reading so topic on trinity cant be sure anything was taken into consideration when sending me my carb. It is a 35mm keihin carb elevation is 3110 ft gonna pull plgs and bowl and see what jets are in the carb. Porting was done by Alba again told them riding style so had a dune port done according to them. Top end kit + port and polish ran 1000$ so i hope its done right.
  4. 21 or 22 in on a 10 in rim wont be near as balooned as a 8 in rim would. Definatly a hauler or strait paddle will be awesome for climbing, but for all around dune riding donuts whatever, either a scat trak edge or aero speed most v paddles allow you to slide more than str8 paddles. And if all you have is the geckos use them but really are a poor tire, hard rubber
  5. Ok took the shee to the dunes this weekend. It ran great trail riding but low end has a lag in the throttle. Jugs have been ported and polished, Trinity 2 to 1 carb stock reed cages w/ carbon fiber reeds, fmf fatty gold exhaust. Is this something that a adjustable timing set up might fix? I noticed most shees that are port and polished are +4 timing. AND yes i already know most of you are against the 2 to 1 and im gonna keep it so any answers to fix the problem without replacing the carb set up would be nice.
  6. Im running two optima reds in my suburban. I know what you mean about what everyone says about jl , but by the time they buy enough subs to hit as hard as even 1 dub 7 they have already spent double that. With just the 1 13w7 and the 1000/1 i hit 143.7 db which for that much space to fill isnt bad.
  7. Well thats about as far as i got on mine and just went with a 2 to 1 set up. Im new to banshees and dont know a lot about tuning the carbs so the single worked better for me lol. Sorry i couldnt be of more help!!
  8. Actually i run haulers on my yfz 450. We ride for fun in the dunes and believe it or not the scat track edge on my wifes shee hook up pretty good for a all around ride. And what was ment by around here didnt refer to sheehq but to carlsbad n.m. Everyone on this site is on top of their game or trying to learn something new but my wife said she is up for a race shes been riding since she was 2yrs old. lol all in fun she is proud of her shee even the tires lol.
  9. I have a 08 yfz 450 with pipes ron woods intake gytr jet kit and geared front to 12t sprocket. I have raced a couple banshees at the dunes including my own and have smoked a bunch of them. But around here most of the people who go duning dont know about gearing for the sand. I take my wife out of the gate on her shee but she can run me down and its close at the end. I have hers geared at 13t front and 41t rear. Im also 230 where as she is about 130.
  10. You prob have the slides in the wrong carbs if you dont see the mark. i did this when i installed the tors removal on mine. As for the idle you can try adjusting like you said but it depends on if both carbs were modified exactly the same when adding the idle screw.
  11. Like the dub 7's. Im running a 13w7 in my suburban with a 1000/1 pounds. I have a buddy running 6 12w7s in a single cab chevy with a bed thru. You have a awesom truck.
  12. Turn off your fuel remove your filter so you can see the slides. Look in the peep hole on right side of carbs open full throttle you should see a mark in the peep hole on both carbs. If not adjust the cable on top of carb untill both are visable. This will get you close.
  13. Thanks its my wifes i ride a yfz 450. Good luck on the carb. alot of people on here dont like them but they work pretty well.
  14. There was a cheap set up on ebay. I bought mine from trinity for 460$, I like it its easy to tune cleans up the engine, Thats not to say they are without problems, I have a slight hesitation which i think is air/fuel related but overall great performance out of the box.
  15. Is a cool head worth it. if so what are the pos and neg. What cc domes do i need have fresh top end, port, polish, bored just over stock, carbon fiber reeds, spacers, trinity 2 to 1 carb and fmf fatty gold pipes.
