  1. I agree with the nasty feeling, the feeling of slippage. You can have 1000 HP but if you cant put it too the ground there is no point. I am just partial to AWD mainly because of where i live we have icey and snowing winters, and the practicality as well as the performance of AWD just leaves everything in the dust. I have raced Turboed civics with 400+HP in both 1/4 mile and 30 MPH rolling start races, and in my car putting down 351 AWHP and 372 AWT it was no competition. You just cant beat the traction and the ability to put the power to the pavement of an AWD car.
  2. Have you ever driven either? And what is you "other" that you speak of?
  3. Im not saying anything bad about EVO's either. I like the EVO, what i was trying to say is the EVO/ EVOMR and the WRX/STi are by far the best choice IMO for a Turboed import. And as far as reliability goes i can only go by what i know first hand and have been told. Either way if your buy an EVO or a WRX you will be very happy with your purchase. AWD FTW!
  4. Woods/Trails 14-41. I also tried a 13-41 but just didnt like the gearing.
  5. That is really not being coorect as much as it is not knowing what you are talking about and falling backwards into a technicality That is a JDM car that has to be imported into the united states. And you states above that WRX's were non turbo, implying that you thought all WRX's were non turbo when in reality the car you speak of is a JDM WRX imported to the US, the WRX didnt come state side till 02. But ill give you points for using Google.
  6. Ok, ALL WRX's are turboed. A non Turboed WRX is an impreza, NOT a WRX. WRX 5 Speed trannies are known to crack under high horsepower applications. The WRX has a 2.0L block while the STi has a 2.5. And STi's are typically around 5 - 10k more, making them not the best option for someone with a smaller budget, which is why i asked. I have several friends with EVO's and even more with STi's and WRX's, any honest EVO owner will admit that Subaru makes a more reliable car. As far as the EVO with 200k on it, that is awesome, but not the norm for any high performance 4 cylinder turbo no matter what the make.

  8. DO NOT buy an SRT-4, pure garbage and FWD. IF you want a Turboed import the only way to go is AWD. Either WRX, STi, or an EVO, EVO MR. Subarus are much more reliable but the EVO is alittle faster in a straight line off the shelf. What is your budget?
  9. I like the Maxxis Razr II's on Stock 9's. Great hook up and ive got great wear out of them.
  10. Had same problem on my 06, Replaced needle and seats, and problem solved.
  11. X2. My 07 YFZ was very fast and it could put the power to the ground, but i think its best asset was the weight. And yes the Predaturd blows. Experience will be the deciding factor here, i think.
  12. Think of it like a 10 speed bike, When you are in 1'st (Smallest Front Sprocket, Largest Rear) it is all torque. Then as you go up in gears smaller on the rear sprocket it gets harder to pedal but your topend goes up. Then when you go to the next Larger front sprocket you gain even more topend, but you lose lowend as you are making these gear changes.
  13. I have ridden +2, +4 and Stock Length. And by far for me and my style of riding(Lots of Trails, And Jumping) Stock is the way to go. +4 was awesome for the dunes, and +2 was a good all around swinger, but IMO i like the stock for what i do.

  15. So for all intensive purposes you CANNOT downshift. Having to come to a complete stop is not downshifting in a sense that will do you any good. And wearing out the purpose built gears doesnt make sense either.
  16. AN OVERRIDE TRANS HAS CUT GEARS TO ENABLE YOU TO QUICKLY SHIFT THRUOGH THE GEARS AT WIDE OPEN THROTTLE,WITHOUT THE CLUTCH. ONE DRAW BACK IS, YOU CAN'T DOWN SHIFT. Copied and Pasted from different thread.
  17. Agreed, I rode a set of HD's on my 450 and when they wore down i switched to Maxxis. I now have twice the ride time on the Maxxis and still plenty of tread. Hookup feels the same to me, and i also ride mostly trails.
  18. I had the exact same thing happen to me when i messed with my carbs for rejetting for the first time. It turned out i didnt reconnect the crossover tube betwwen the 2 carbs are i was done. I was told this doesnt allow them to pressurize equally which causes the WOT. Worth a look.
  19. Man i really dont remember, I had some help from a friend and i had it done awhile ago. I could find out though.
  20. I have the Trinity Stage 4, 2 into 1 carb and i noticed a big difference in lowend after switching to Single. My carb is also a 36mm.
