well i never asked anything to kevin at herr juggs. i had 250's on stock with just pipes, not 2 months ago.. it seems rich right now smoking really good. so you guys think i need to go up even more? its been a few years since ive jjetted anything.. keep the opinions coming... thanks

ok heres what ive got HJR mx/hardcore port, stock stroke, stock carbs, VF3's, Pro Circuit pipes, stock air box. and +5 timing. (per kevin at hjr). milled head .30. 300 mains, 25 pilots. needle in 3 clip. air screws out 1.5 turns. im about 1500-1800 above sea level.. its 30 degrees here. having hard time idling. its a brand new top end. so i need this to be right.. also it seems to miss if i give it a little throttle, but fine when i rev it a little more.. any input would be appreciated.. thanks you Merry Christmas..

yah check your plugs also.. most of the time its the simple stuff we cant figure out.. been there done that..good luck

yeah thats what ill prob do, ive got gaskets, ill just put some sealer in there... also should i use the stuffers or the metal reed retainer version.. stock cylinders, ported mx/hardcore by HJR. pro circuits, stock airbox .. milled head... just want more power but still reliable...thanks

should i get the vf2 gaskets, to seal ??? seems like that s all i need to do.

so from the pics it looks like there are two ways to use these things.. one with metal insert and the other with out.. im i wrong?? like bigblock said.. never used these so kinda in a funk.. plus its a brand new top end and i want it to be air tight... thanks for all the help so far..

bought some vf3's of member here. dont know if they came with all needed to install. couple questions, 1- they came with an aluminum piece but once in were i think it would go the carb side is not flat, does it need this part and if so where does it go. 2- do i need special carb boots or gaskets? put the gasket on the intake part of cylinders and used another gasket where i had a leak around the back side of reed cages, still leaked is this a normal problem with these and/or what do i need to do. brand new top end and no leaks there, only around reed cages.. any help appreciated..

Yeah man get the porting. like they said, hard to go back once ported for stock stroke.. HJR just ported my stock jugs.. mx/hardcore. i didnt want stroker.. not willin to spend all the cash.. just needed top end rebuilt so ported as i was at it.. 4 mills are great though.. good luck man... keep us posted

Are you looking to do some port work?. send it to kevin at Herr Jugs (one of the sponsers on here) he has a lot of options. port the jugs, adv timing plate, and complete rebuild kit with cost anywhere from 600-700 and up.. hope this helps...
