  1. Found it - sheered off Woodruff key...
  2. Yeah, is this a common issue? I did the +4 mod last spring - now this?
  3. Hey guys- I went out to ride today after the TORS removal - bike ran great, then... The bike died and I had no spark. Checked the obvious things then it started but backfired. I took of the stator side cover and found my woodruff key gone! Question is (see pictures). Do I need a new magneto assembly and stator too? It gound grooves in it.
  4. Well, I plugged everything back in and ended up get some spark - not sure if it's enough. The bike would not idle but would rev, then die again. I'm lost...
  5. Did you take your carbs appart? Did you switch the slides by mistake and put them in backwards? The beveled edge should face the airbox...You should also check for air leaks or a lean condition.
  6. Hey guys- I'm looking for some help. I did the tors removal kit and the bike ran great. I sync'd the carbs and everything was a go...On the way back the bike just spuddered and died - I thought I blew it up..I check compression - it's good. The next step I did was check spark - nothing. I checked the red and green wires on coming out of the stator in the harness and they are reading in spec (ohms). The lighiting coil is out of spec, but I don't think that would cause this. I check the primary and secondary coil ohm readings and I am getting a very low or "OL" reading on the meter. I checked the orange wire with a dummy light and I am getting nothing. THe question is - CDI or Iginiton coil? Anyone have either one of these crap out while riding? I don't want to thorw parts at it... Thx-
  7. I "almost" hit 2 deer last year... Scared the shit out of me! They both jumped across a trail as I was going about 30-40 MPH...Not 10 mins later, I had a quail bounce of my helmet! My buddies were calling me "ranger rick" the rest of the day...lol
  8. Thanks! What method did you use to bleed the brakes? I will probably use a vac pump...Did a lot of fluid come out? Use to doing this on cars/tracks not quads...
  9. I'm going to be installing +2 brake lines on my shee. I got new a-arms and needed the longer lines. The question I have is what is the best way to change them without getting brake fluid on the frame paint and other parts? Can I drain the front master and suck the fluid out of the bleeders with a vac pump before putting on the new lines? Just wanted some feedback on how to go about this and not getting fluid on painted/powder coated parts. Thanks!
  10. Would someone be so kind to tell me the screw lenghth and pitch for the carb bowl? I want to replace mine with allen cap screws. I think its a 4MM X 10 .070?... Thx!
  11. Hey guys - Just wondering if anyone can answer this question for sure... Do I need to buy brake lines, or will the stock ones do? I picked up an Elka and Loanstar kit...Sure it will be much better than stock!
  12. Thanks guys. Just purchased some loanstar +2 arms and Elkas...Getting her ready for another good year!!
  13. Whats up guys! Went out to do my weekly fire-up and snapped some pictures. Need to replace the needle and seat becuase the carbs are leaking, but damn - she's lookin good. Still have the ice picked tires on from the snow storm...
  14. also, if anyone has nice stuff to sell, let me know....
  15. What brand would you purchase for trail/xc/woods riding? Should I go +2+1? I want something with ball joints... What about a shock set up? Thanks-
  16. Don't do that unless you want to blow it up....
  17. Hey guys- It's been a while! Been focused on snowmobiles this winter, but now back to the banshee! I want to add some suspension to the front of the banshee. I need something that will work with agressive trail/XC riding. What would you guys recommend? I was looking at wicked a-arms. What about for some front shocks? Thx
  18. Nope, you do not need to re-jet when you use the hush kit. I had the hush kit - it sucks. Go with the spark arrestor tips!!! I think they are less than the hush kit now....
  19. I know a lot of guys use the VHT paint and use the baking process in an oven between coats. I have used the high temp paint on pipes and it worked awesome. It's a rattle can, but for pipes they turn out good.
  20. Thanks man! I also have a full tank of gas, so that's a lot of pressure sitting on the needle and seat. It's probably just a float that is slightly out of adjustment like you said, not sure its worth messing with, but I will keep my eye on it and if it gets worse - I'll fix it. Alex
  21. thanks. It was doing this before the jet was changed...I actually tapped on the float bowl with a screw driver handle and went for a ride. Looks good, let's see what happens. It's a real small amount of gas, so I am not too concerned. How about the needle and seat?
