Thanks, but not quite ready to part it just yet, but the way things are selling these days, that mite be the only way to sell it!! Surely someone is looking to buy there dream motor, for a whole lot less than it costs to build one.........This is a complete fresh build with maybe 6hrs of ride time on it...... I just wanted to see if someone was interested in buying a sweet bolt in, turn key, 421 cub, built by a very reputable builder...... -

Yep, the complete bike is on kansas city craigslist for 3700cash.... And this is a very low hour 2004 banshee, in showroom condition...I have over twice that invested, but i realize the banshee market just isnt there, neither is the four stroke market, as a matter of fact... Thats why i priced it to sell..... And bike will easily make more power, its detuned......for a cub....... -

I have a 421 cub, looking to see if anyone has interest in the Complete engine and trans.... It was built by F.A.S.T. (farmandsandtoys.com) this past winter, and not installed till this spring.... It has less than 6hrs on a complete build... It was setup to dune ride and to be able to be competitive on the dragstrip if wanted... It is an unported cub, with vitos crank, and prodesign head with chambers to run on pump fuel... The timing is set at 4degrees, and i run 34mm carbs with shearer pipes.... The cases have the stock transmission with jeffs upgraded shiftstar, drum and spring, a billet clutch basket and a F.a.s.t. clutch.... This thing shifts amazing... The only time i rode this engine was at sandfest, in Waynoka oklahoma... It was dyno'd first, to make sure air/fuel ratio was spot on, and will come with the dyno sheet showing a 12:1air fuel ratio and 82horsepower(on pump gas).... This engine runs amazing, idles perfectly, never fouls plugs, or sputters.... I am asking $2400cash for complete engine with v-force reeds, billet intake, and carbs, (nopipes) or $2100 complete engine minus intake, reeds, and carbs..... No pipes included....... And incase, your wanting to make more power, all you would have to do is to bump timing to 8degrees, switch domes to higher c/r ratio, run race fuel, bigger carbs, and i bet you would easily see 90horsepower or more out of this thing.... Im running the factory #50pilot, with the air screws two turns out....... Seems the best right there..... still a little bog in the mid range, but not \ as bad as it was..... Im starting to wonder if its not my shearer pipes that are killing my low to mid performance.... From mid on up it screams... Im on a 390main jet, and it acts like it wants even more on the topend..... Anyways, do you sell the different needle jets for those carbs, or where do you purchase them.... Thanks for your help Brandon........ -
Make sure the vent on your Gas tank cap is good.... Make sure you can blow thru it easily..... If not, you need to take it off and gut the internals..... I was having the same issues last year on a ported stock crank, cylinder banshee..... and i was running the dual pingel... It was sorta causing a vacuum lock, and 3to 4th gear pull, i was sucking my bowls dry, with 34mm carbs...... Also, make sure your fuel feed lines are in good shape, no extreme kinks or bends, and that they are routed good..... And if your making decent power, you should put the dual pingel on your set up.....

Thanks, Snopczynski and Wildcard, for the input....... I think i have them pretty close now, but i am Wondering, like " Springer" Mentioned, should We try a different Needle jet tube?? He says the Q2 may be a bit on the fat side? Just curious, i had heard that from another member, that i should try another needle jet tube?? -

Dang, your gona make me pull those carbs back apart.... The mains are at 380, pilots are 50s with air screw 2turns out, and the needles are a 5L sumthn, on the second clip, i didnt write it down...... Are the slides usually marked? From what ive seen, i could have a 3.0 or 3.5 slide..... I will pull one out and look for numbers, or would it be best to try and measure the amount of cutaway on the slide....? Also, you mentioned there is "specs" for the Mikuni Flat slides on here, you dont by chance, remember where you found those???? -

ok, thanks, yes, these carbs are set up for a banshee....and the slides and needles are banshee specific...... I moved the needle clip to 2nd notch from the top to lean out the mid, and that made a huge difference...... -

Also, im goin to try and play with my needle clip settings, but these worked perfect on my last engine, in the middle spot.. and I was also told, i may need to try a different needle or needle seat?? Hopefully someone out there has tried these carbs on a 421..... Almost everyone runs the keihns on these setups, but i was hoping to make these Mikunis work........ -
I have a fresh built 421 cub, sheerer small bore inframes, .... Has vforce reeds, boss intake,and like new 34mm mikuni flatslides..... The problem is, I cant seem to get the mid range "bogg"out of this thing, which is a flatslide characteristic..... This thing screams from 3/4 to wide open throttle, but tryn to stab the throttle at low rpms, this thing spits sputtters, falls on its face, till it gets the rpms to hit the powerband.. And, if you try to ride this thing just cruising with the throttle at half throttle, it acts way rich, and just sputters out the pipes, like it s way fatt... Im running 370mains, needle on 3rd clip, in the middle spot, and 50pilots....... My question is, does any one have a motor setup like mine with Mikunis, and if you do, what are your settings, and how does your bike respond at different rpm ranges..?? Im at 1000ft elevation, and run 50/50race,pumpfuel.....

I just put a noss cool head on my stock 03banshee with 21cc domes..... It kicks out 148psi compression on each bank...... Just run 91or 93octane fuel, and you should be fine..... Oh, and im at 945 feet elevation..... It seems when you go 20cc domes or lower, then you need to be more worried about mixing some higher octane fuel with the pump gas.....

You can see the air gap in the video, which is from the beveled edge.... The bevel side of the round slides, goes towards the air filter side.... the flat side towards the engine.... You just need to swap them, and you"ll be good....
