    sounds more like the the claw on the shift shaft sliped off the shift star really easy fix dont even hve to split the cases. Get a climers manual it will walk you right through it.

    where the choke is on the left carb at the front look straight across twards the other carb the tube should be 2 to 3 inches long if you dont see one pull one of the carbs off and get a better look its # 42 there is a link to it also you will have to look for it just put in http://www.yamahapar...nd/default.aspx
