  2. I am putting a new set of rings on a set of vitos forged .100 over pistons and wondered if anybody knew what the ring end gap should be.
  3. Are you sure you didn't get your slides mixed up? It won't idle worth a crap but will still run on top.
  4. It looks like it has trails mudbog and a moto cross track. I haven't had time to go yet find out. I think it 15 dollars a day to ride the whole place, it's about a four hundred acre park. I might go and check it out next weekend.
  5. I have mr gasket rad cap temp gauge on mine with same basic mods. It tends to run at about 180 190.
  6. Its not boiling over, it just dribbles out a little now and then.
  7. Mine has always done that, do you have a temp gauge. I thought mine was running hot too but it never broke 190. I use one of those radiator caps with a temp gauage in it.

  10. You could test for that by getting a spray bottle full of water and misting plugs and wires. If you do it in the dark you should be able to see the arc.
  11. Well i finally figured out my problem. Some how the pin that holds the slide from spining in the carb got filed down or backed out enough to let the slide rotate. I was able to drive it out far enough to get it to hold slide and keep it from rotating. Has this ever happened to anyone before or do you think the prior owner did this?
  12. It tricked me to, the tube feeds the choke when plunger is pulled. If you don't have it on the left carb your choke will not work. I tend to learn things the hard way.
  13. Sounds like the parking brake switch. That will let it start but not rev up.
  14. I did a leak down test and found bad air leaks at the reeds. fixed that and it held perfect, no pressure drop after 10 min. Just test rode it and it still does it. It did the idle up when you grab the clutch every once and a while and won't hit on left at idle. I also noticed it doesn't want to pick up the cylinder with clutch in. What the hell I need help, could it be reeds. They looked fine from what i could tell. could it be a crank seal only leaking when hot. Also could it be bad port work causing this crap. This thing has been a pain in my butt since I got it.
  15. Make the tool to pressure test the engine for leaks. I did the carb spray thing several times and it never showed the air leak I had between reed cage and cylinder. The leak tester was easy to use and build.
  16. Here is what I have, My bike is hard to start cold but once it's a little warm it fires first kick every time. My problem is that after roughly 45 minutes of riding the left cylinder stops firing at idle. This happens every time I ride it for 45 minutes or longer. It also sometimes but not always revs up(only right cylinder firing ) about 1000 rpms during this time. This is what I have done so far. new float needles(gas was coming out of the over flow tubes) checked float hieght cleaned carbs, resynced carbs(using the sight windows) sprayed carb cleaner around carbs looking for air leak, new plugs, fresh gas, checked comp (108left 110 right) With engine warm and throttle open. I have verified choke tube is in, float bowls are on the correct carbs and so on. I also tried switching switching plug wires and plugs with no luck. The torres thing is still on the carb but all wires are disconnected and the torres control box is removed from the bike. I have a Mr Gasket temp gauge in the radiator cap and it never gets above 190. I get a little water dribbling out the over flow hose every time I ride.

  19. The first pic shows the tube I'm talking about, Do you have a pic like that of the other carb. Just wondering if I am supposed to have one in both carbs. Thanks I really appreciate your help.

  21. This is a BRASS tube in front of main jet. It sticks into the main body of the carb and hangs down into the float bowl. If the carb is upside down like when doing a float level adjustment It would be located between main jet and the discharge of the carb. I don t remember which carb it came from and wondered what it was for.
  22. Is ther supposed to be one on each carb or just on the left carb?
