Every gear in the trans has 5 or 6 fingers or dogs, and basically you shave down every other dog in each gear, which in turn makes it easier to shift and fully engage the next gear under load/high speed.. Maybe someone else can explain it a little better. Lol hope that helps

Yes changes ride height. Ive used this set up on a stock swinger for ice track oval racing, worked amazing. i also bolted it onto my plus 4 but never ran the bike with it on. Seemed to sit fine. Id say it probably lowers the bike 3-4 inches from stock and definatly stiffens things up.
