  1. OEM parts take awhile to get direct from yamaha, I have waited 6 weeks before. Most likely if the site is out of stock they reorder through them.
  2. Yeah you are right about that. Just because the picture may look nice and clean, it doesn't mean its going to run good.
  3. leakdown test, maybe u have air leaks?
  4. I have pro circuits with coolhead 21cc domes, k&N with outerwear and no lid. stock pilots and 290 mains and I ride at the same elevation and temp pretty much.
  5. I run bel-ray 80 or 90w also. Ive used it since i had my 87 banshee. I have stock shift shaft and shift star and never have a problem finding neutral.
  6. Sounds like you could use a new riding buddy
  7. Hell yeah you wouldnt catch me stopping, I dont even stop for normal people after some drunk lady waved me down to cus me out.
  8. something like that happened to my old 87 banshee. I dont know if this played the part but it didnt have a choke tube between the 2 carbs until I got ahold of a manual and spotted it missing (quad was a hand-me-down at the time). Was pretty scary when it ran with the spark plug boots off. This happened right after a fresh rebuild too.
  9. im at sea level and when i switched to the k&n filter with no lid (and added pro circuit pipes) i used 290 mains. If you dont run the lid and you have stock jets it wont run right at all.
  10. A friend of mine probably fell victim to one of these guys. Went to camden with a quad to sell that someone wanted on craigslist. He ended up leaving with no quad and no money after being held at gun point.
  11. id love to have that thing. good find, lets hope whoever buys it posts up some vids, i wanna see what its capable of
  12. i noticed with the 450 setup when im going slow on the road it feels like the steering is stiff, but when I get moving i hardly seem to notice it.
  13. Ive seen a friend do that on his bicycle. He had a 3/16 chain and sprocket setup so it was like a small dirtbike chain. Severed the tip of his finger right off. We called him 9 and 3/4 for a long time after that. It was crazy cuz i heard him scream, i looked over and he was pale as a ghost, had his finger pointed at his face and blood squirted him on his forehead, pretty nasty!
  14. that sounds like a really good rule of thumb
  15. Wow I got all excited for nothing. I was really looking forward to seeing this. Guessing the banshee motor is still not done?
  16. i ran the power off the yellow wire from the headlight switch. I tried several different ways to run the rpm wire, best luck i had was just takping it down on the sparkplug wire, i didnt wrap it, just ran it parallel with the wire maybe like 3 inches. My rpm read out seems pretty accurate, i just needed to switch the plugs to the BR8ES rather than B8ES. When running B8ES the computer would restart when i hit high r's. All in all i like the computer, the main feature that made me buy it was the temp readout and warning lights.
  17. If you get a new one can I have yours lol
  18. Looking at the power curves on that link im pretty happey with my Pro Circuit pipes. The Toomey's look like they have a nice curve too, but them dyno port pipes just plain suck.
  19. I got a trailtech vapor. Im not sure how accurate it is but my temps are usually 150 to 160 when cruising in high gears and 170 to 190 when im going slow. It rarely gets over 180, only when im sitting really. When it gets on its higher side and I rip it down a street through all six gears the temp drops fast down to 150.
  20. You do some amazing paint man! I wish you were close to me, id get you to paint my shaved and bagged s10 ext cab.
  21. I've been following this and doing the same with my setup. Just waiting for my 450 spindles and i can finish! Thanks for taking the time to do this to make it easier for people like me later!
  22. Not if you just want the spring. You can probably put the spring on yourself. Im not 100% sure but you might want to get it revalved for your weight also if it already isnt, which that you might have to send out.
  23. 24. 50 to 55 seems very low. I think stock it should be 110
  25. I got a 2000 and the engine reads 3GG-181852 so id guess yours is either a 2000 or 2001
