  1. First off, just by the looks of it, it's got to be a Laeger. It's identical. I did manage to find a "Banshee/ 250R no link swingarm" but I could only find the swingarm and not the frame. It was a Lonestar {I think}. I'm hoping it will work with my stock banshee frame. If not, I'm gonna have to let this sucker go 'cause I'm not going to build the whole Banshee around the swingarm Hopefully it will be delivered today. The guy that had it bought a bunch of stuff from his neighbor who was moving. Now that the guy is gone, there's no way of find out how he ran it.

I prefer Paypal because I can usually print out a postage paid shipping label and it's better than standing in line at the post office. The payment is for return shipping and doesn't come close to covering the materials but I do this for HQ members just to show it's one big love fest around here AND CEJ... You could trade by writing off the missing materials as R&D expenses, demonstrator handouts, test units, or "buy" the materials from the company at cost. You can write almost anything off as R&D as long as it's related to the biz and you should already be writing off ALL of your banshee maintenance and upgrades including fuel use and "promotional" trips. I will be writing off my trip to Vegas because I was promoting my product there and my road trip from LA to Dumont is gonna get written off too. All riding equipment, trailers etc. is all deductible. You could even buy a YFZ450 and write it off as business R&D & advertisement expense as long as you were using it as a model for your new pieces and to promote your products.

  5. Yeah grease rules. It's probably one reason why the Banshee has the garbage plastic bishings. It takes longer to figure out they are worn out than a bearing. But once grit gets into the bushing, it will wear out everything else.
  6. tats... I sent Laeger an email and they said they never made a no link swingarm. After looking at it, there is no way it's NOT a Laeger swinger. If you can get me a pic of what you're talking about, that would be GREAT. rebel... since the shock will be closer to the pivot point, it won't need as much travel to still get the swinger to give full motion. I have no idea how long the Goldwing shock is. May not work anyway. I sure hope I didn't screw myself on this swingarm.

  14. I'll bet they won't want a penny less than $8500. You can mod a banshee to do almost anything and that banshee has alot of the stuff you would need is already done. Here's what I look for in a used banshee { http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...hl=holyman+tech }but by the curb shots you have there, it all looks great.
  15. Your bearings are shot. There should be no play at all. While you have it jacked up, you should look at the swingarm bearings and see if there's play there too.

  17. Here it is... I figure if this shock can handle the weight of a Goldwing and 2 XXL riders, it should be able to handle me on the trails and 3 feet of air.

  20. Thanks for the info. The thing about this swingarm is that the shock mount point is only about 8" from the pivot point of the swingarm. Since the stock setup uses the dogbone at the bottom, the bottom shock mount is only about 8" from the pivot point but ALOT lower. So this setup should have the same characteristics as stock BUT I will need a shock that's about 10" long instead of the 14" stock shock. So I was thinking of a sled shock which tend to be short but have a strong spring. I haven't got the swingarm yet but I wanted to see if I can get an affordable shock before I decide to spend the big bucks on a custom shock. Here's the swingarm... Just wanted to add that usually the dogbone mount for a shortened swingarm is almost to the carrier. Here you can see it's half way up the swingarm. The 2 bumps in between the legs of the swingarm are actually 2 hollow pegs that the lower shock bolt will go thru. This is a Goldwing shock and controller that I was thinking might work...
  21. I'm getting a Chrome Laeger -2 swingarm and would like to get some suggestions on shocks. Hopefully you can tell me exactly which shock to get. But I'm also curious about the ride difference between a stock length and a -2. I was thinking of getting a Goldwing or Harley Air shock and give it a try but I really need to know the length. As far as I can tell, the shock needs to be about 10" eye to eye but I hav no clue if that's right. I've also never seen an air shock on a bike and don't know if they have enough travel, whether they have a built in spring or they just adjust ride height. I also don't know if they have an on-board compressor and what kind of pressure they run in the shocks. Any help you guys have would be appreciated.
  22. I remember the same thing when I put a Toomey 2:1 filter on mine. Once you get used to it, you'll be able to keep a better ear out for changes in engine sound.
