  1. I like the integrated LED's but I don't like things than can spear me alive on my ATV.
  2. Just waiting for some gaskets, and I can go again. I'm going to have a custom grab bar built to mount a rotopax 1 gallon. If that's not enough I'll look into stacking a second but I think the one gallon will be ok most of the time. Looking into getting some Rigid handlbar LED setup, probably the 6". I still don't think HID"s are dead but do agree LED's are probably better run off ATV's. The LED handlebar light shol dbe maybe a little brighter than the 2 MR16 HIDs and use 15 watts less. I don't think it will be as bright as the 7" HIDs though as my friends was only about the same.
  3. Damn I run a billet one too. I only run a 4 il cub, should I still change it out? I saw the picture, but really, is there any guarantee that any case saver will save your case if you neglect your chain?
  4. Well I do do it often, just about every time out... For now I'm just riding the 250r even though its way slower.
  5. They could rub and leak, or crack, and they would be near the exhaust. Plus 2 liters of gas sin't going to get me very far unfortunately. Whats the best rack for holding a gas can? Whats teh best gas can to put in the rack?
  6. Have a closeup? That looks like the easiest solution. Not as good as a larger tank but I think that would give me enough fuel for most rides. As for adding a 2 gallon tank to the back, I do worry about melting the tank with the exhaust. If that's a better route, which grab bar works best? I have the typical older style cooler tack, but I think I bent it a bit when I wreck some years ago. As for the lights, I really don't care if people think they are ugly, I can unbolt them in about 10 minute with 2 bolts if they are in the way. They are Euro Pattern beam you see on a lot of buggies. LED lightbars were not even made for my banshee back when I got these years ago. The problem is I keep melting my stators
  7. I used to have one, but I wheelied too hard and bent the subframe. (On the last frame I had). Not sure if I want to put another one on there. An extra gallon does go a long way, if the buggy goes I typically tie one down in it. Pretty hard not to get sand in the gastank though since it tends to stick to the gascan when riding. I wonder if the one you linked would fit with the fullbores on the back? Also I did see this note: * Not intended for hard aggressive riding which can put added stress on the rack and subframe and may void the warranty. That has me worried.
  8. Well the 2-stroke guys I used to ride with either sold their quads or don't go to the dunes anymore. Honestly as fast as the banshee is, there's no way I'm faster than our leader on his 450 out in the dunes when he wants to be fast, hes been riding the dunes since I have been alive and is very good at it. It's not all about being the fastest on the ride since mostly I ride with a large group, rzrs and some sometimes a nice rail or two. Last trip I ended up riding the 250r because it does much better on fuel. The banshee is a hog. I use 1/3rd tank just to get over to the big dunes from Olgiby Camp Area, 1/3rd riding the dunes, then the last 1/3rd coming back from the larger dunes. (roughly). But even at Glamis the 4 stroke guys get longer rides in, and just do less of them a day. I do not like riding alone, its just too unsafe. It's just the way things are going, people don't ride Banshees annymore, parts are always custom ordered online only etc. The banshee can't keep up, simply because it runs out of gas before the finish line lol. So should I get another set of plastics and a desert tank or give up on the banshee and get some better suspension for the 250r? I don't mind dumping in $80 of race gas per ride, but I'm wondering how terrible the Banshee will look if I find some stock plastics and a desert tank. I'm thinking it will look pretty bad compared to now, but that's probably better than only getting 1/2 a ride in.
  9. I'm thinking about ditching my front fullbores for stock plastics with a desert tank. I'm sick of only going on 1/2 rides and having to ride through the dunes by myself or drag one of my friends down with me who wants to continue the ride. It has become a real problem now that I am the only 2 stroke guy at camp, and my group camps farther away from the dunes than they used to. Me n My Girls by Glamisduner, on Flickr P1022338 by Glamisduner, on Flickr So how bad would it look with stock front + desert tank + fullbores on the back.?
  10. 14" and only 72 watts sounds pretty good, what about a light on the handlebars though, gotta get one for there too. Maybe I will grab a racetech stator too. $300 seems too high, for that much extra you can just bring a spare ricky stator with you lol. As far as going with their aftermarket stator I just received the following: RaceTech Electric Contact Reply ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am just now starting a new production run. I should have them done in January or February. Thanks, Evan Anyways, what are you going to do for the mount? I'm thinking to put the handlebar LEDs on and continue using my 5" HIDs on the stock location until I can come up with something cooler.
  11. Your correct it is not overkill, I run 4 HIDs on mine and want to switch to LEDs now that they are FINALLY producing decent stuff. Link to the stuff your planning to run? I have 2 ricky stators (one backup). So I'm interested in what you find. I was thinking the 8"rigid for the bars, as that's what my friend runs and it's quite nice, but still not enough light for me in the dunes
  12. Your guys carbs seem to be in a different location with reference to the frame, or maybe the stingers bends are in a different location.
  13. hmm backwards stingers... I don't think so but I will look into that. I guess Just remove them, then flip the silencers end the other way? I also have this issue. Another Picture, although this side seems to clear once I add rubber bands.
  14. Yea they are angled pods. No matter how I angle them the filter will hit right near the carburetor. Intakes are billet with no cross vent, not sure on the make. It's the left one that hits, the right barley clears but haven't melted it yet.
  15. Ok so I think I have gone through like 20 of these things now. I can't find any way around it. My CPI pipes fit like shit. Whats the solution? New pipes? I need something high quality that will add some mid-range or at least deliver smooth power from a 421 CUB.
  16. Bel Ray Gear Saver, tried the golden spectro, but it seemed alot thinner and I had some slippage.
  17. Upon closer inspection it appears that it might just be the bushing. Guess I will have to find a place that sells them. Seems all the local places only stock 4 stroke stuff, and mostly motorcycles only these days.
  18. What would you a picture of exactly? Hard to take them at night but I'll do my best. Also how exactly would a bushing work? Would I need to drill out the linkage bushing and caps? Who can make this for me!
  19. So I was getting my suspension revalved and I decided to finally clean up all the grease and crap that has built up on my rear linkage. I have had some play in the suspension but always figured it was a worn bolt or busing that was causing it. Turns out the holes drilled in my chromed quicksand racing swing arm are slightly over-sized. I wish I would have caught this earlier when quicksand was still in business. So what are my options here to fix this? Drill out the rear linkage and find an oversized custom bolt? Have a shop weld on new mounts and re-chrome? I'll have to take a picture of the swingarm but this is the best I can do for now. It's the White Banshee.
  20. I'm looking for a radiator that will work with my fullbore plastics. I want extra cooling over stock, but the cap needs to be in the correct place etc. Thanks!
  21. Sounds too good to be true, just as good as CPI but without having to replace my melted / rubbed holes in outerwear's every trip!
