  1. try going .016 on the pickup gap, and go back to solid tip plugs.
  2. You do have solid tip spark plugs right? Not the kind that the tip screws on to threads.
  3. If not the best, what do you think is?
  4. CPI's right now, but want to switch to some shearer's
  5. Stock carbs?
  6. I have run both and Love Klotz... but switched to Am-soil Dominator and love it just as much.... What about Dominator guys???
  7. Grown men DONT ride blasters... right? Well they do on ken oconnor's website! I cant believe I am viewing this on his testimonials page. I am pretty sure the blaster is for 10 year old boys and girls... my wife would not even ride a blaster.
  8. I would NEVER post pics of anyone I cared about on the HQ!
  9. This place would be BORING without all the assholes and their "hurtful" comments... Tyler is my personal favorite.
  10. Neither! the cub is not producing a dramatic amount more of power than my drag ported HJR 4 mil, which I ran for three seasons on the stock clutch with HD springs and had no problems. Now I have the drive line clutch with their HD springs made for a 4 mil cub. You do not need a lock up for a non ported cub is how I feel so far. Shifting is no different so far, all I have is a modded shift star.
  11. I just went from the same engine you have to a 4 mil cub. There is a difference, not sure it is worth the grand I spent. Probably will be after I port it though.
  12. This is nice to know, I just spoke with Brandon last week and was very impressed.
  13. Does it cause the engine to run differently?
  14. Just out of curiosity... are you the "other builder" that Wildcard is talking about? Or just an acquaintance?
  15. HOw much timing did you want to run? who sold you the domes, and what did they say?
  16. No, just make the switch then jet according to how the engine responds.
  17. I would definitely port my stock cylinders before I wasted money on a Athena BBK. I had an Athena kit for my YFZ 450 and it was poor quality. Save money and make more power with Wild card porting your stock cylinders.
  18. This is the most highly regulated fuel in the world... there is no way it would be unstable at low altitude... planes fly at ALL altitudes! I have done much reading about Av gas, and it does have a MON rating, which is how race and pump is rated for its resistance to heat. The mon rating is about 100. I have had GREAT success running this fuel for the last 4 years and love it! I know many others that have the same story... Av gas is a great alternative to race gas.
  19. I dont have the exact answer, but I ran 18cc domes and +4 on my stock cylinder making 180 psi. and now I have 19 cc domes with +7 and 165 psi on my cub.
  20. Real nice! Why the alky over race? doesn't that limit your range in the dunes?
  21. BigRed, I agree, finding out what caused this is critical, because I have not split the case, the cheap crank is at the top of my list. This will probably get sent to a professional for an accurate analysis. Have/would you ever run a 500 10 mil crank? 1- dont know, all parts purchased from and assembled by Kevin at HJR 2- he lists this crank on his site for 465 I believe. 3- straight 100LL av gas 4- Yes, I believe it was at WOT or close to that. 5- I will definitely post pictures when I get some. Big Thanks for all your help so far guys!
  22. I wish I could answer the your question about what failed on the crank, the rod clearly broke, why?... I dont know. Yes, only those two spots on the skirt, I have heard the term champfer before but do not know what it means.
  23. I dont understand.
