  6. Keep the Banshee! Allthough LTR's are somewhat impressive, If you are a broke student... Get rid of that LTR. Why? Simplicity of course. I had a 400ex w/ 440 Kit, Stage 2 Cam, and a list of other goodies and I felt completely stupid trying to work on it. Rather than attempt, I passed it onto a friend who did the work for me. Since I got my Shee, I have attempted every project on my own with great results. Aother factor to consider is the price of rebuilds and mods... A 2 Stroke will cost half of what a 4 Stroke costs to rebuild.
  7. Based by alot of threads I have read, Toomey T6's "Pipes" are supposedly better for stock setups and should increase your bottom end a little bit. T5's are supposedly better suited for moded Shees which brings some more topend. I am unsure about the T4's...
  8. Looks like the awnser is simple... Get rid of the TORS... It will only give you problems. Currently mine is unplugged and I have already purchased the kit from Rocky Moutain ATV. It will cost you about 62 bucks from them but if you get it direct from Motion Pro, it will cost about 50 bucks. You might as well eliminate your parking brake also... If you do, make sure you remove the connector also. If you don't, it will not rev correctly. Dont want to poke any fun at your mechanic but I think he should stay away from Banshees! Personally... Getting rid of the TORS and Parking Brake cleaned up alot of space and eliminated some un-needed weight!
  9. Almost forgot... I use HP Trans Oil 80W/85W and it works good. It is Honda Oil basically but it does work really well. It is always going to be based by rider preference so you will not get anything more than mere suggestions. But... Atleast the guys on the forum can point you in the right direction.
  10. Tell them gear oil. Im suprised they didnt figure it out. And it's really not 80W "Weight". It is actually 80W "Winter". Yea, I know, I was suprised that I was wrong too but I found that out working for Napa. The W stands for Winter.
  11. I feel bad for ya but just remember... There will always be Shees running around. You might even get a killer deal too. Good luck with the house and I hope that your significant other dont mind that when you do ge another; the grass may disappear and clouds of dust may appear! GOOD LUCK MAN!!
  12. Awesome vids, Finally someone who put something cool on for once!
  13. Pics buddy, pics... And put it in the FOR SALE SECTION. I promise you will get results! I have an 03 and love it. Sounds like a good deal with the trailor too...
  14. Go plastic... Had a billet one on my 440ex and man did it take a shot! Darn thing was twisted. Be cheap and spend your money elsewhere. Hard on the ego buyin a billet saver just for it to get ruined...
  15. Lopsided trade but at least you got the better end of the stick! Might not seem like it but you will be glad as I was when I got her... I traded a 00 CR250R plus 200 Cash for mine but it was in running order, just bogged out here and there. A few hundred later, I am happy with the current results.
  16. Could be your shifting forks inside the tranny or your clucth may need adjusted. Did you check to see if your clutch basket had any grooves in it? These shees are real finicky so be patient.
  17. Yea...Take his advice! I have even seen them as low as 150 on Craigslist but BUYER BEWARE! People on Craigslist seem to embelish a little about the condition. :: EX: The tards that brought the 02 Rappy 4 hours away hopin to trade. Said it ran great but had trouble startin. Thing didn't want to start period, didn't idle too long before it died after it was jump started, in the pics sent I asked if there was oil on the frame - they replied no "which there was", coolant leak, exhaust taped, 6 pack rack not even mounted right. Guess what they have to say about it now? RUNS GREAT, GAS HOG. Ha, so beware before you buy and good luck. But definately buy another frame. Your shee will love ya forever or till the next mishap.
  18. Here are some spark plug numbers provided by NAPA Auto Parts NGK 5044 NGK 5422 - Both gapped at .028 BSH 7533 - Gapped at .032 ASP 4063 - Gapped at .028 ASP XS4063DP - Gapped at .028 CHA 89042 - Gapped at .032 ASP WC4063DP2 ASP MP4063DP2 - Both gapped at .028 CHA 818 - Gapped at .032 Personally just stick with NGK... These numbers are to help you if you are ever in a jamb and have a Napa near you. I have a whole box of B8ES plugs waitin when needed and they seem to do just fine. BR8ES is a resistor plug and works fine also.
  19. For all you PA boys... I found one that might be a goodone to get ahold of... http://classifieds.pennswoods.net/mp/class...;adindex=300288 reynoldsville, pa
  20. Yea... If you maintain it properly you might be able to get some serious riding in before the rebuild. Make sure your plugs are gapped correctly, carbs are in synch and clean. Might be forgetting something else but dont expect to hammer on it constantly without some negatives happening. Good luck, Hope ya get the Shee you want. They didn't change much either. I think 87-90 or so was the J Style...
  21. Congrats on the purchase. I myself being a noob have learned a great deal off these guys. I kinda had the same problem too. I have an open airbox lid because mine ever came with one. I cut out a piece of cardboard the size of the airbox lid and duct taped it on. I did see a noticeable improvement. It would be a good idea to clean them carbs out also and check your plugs for color and proper gap. Make sure your carbs are in synch after you are done! If you fire your girl up and theres smoke comin from one pipe, dont run it! Lastly get rid of that paperweight! Yes I'm talkin about the boost bottle... Im puttin it nicely than most HQer's will.
  22. Thats how I got my Banshee... Traded an 02 CR250R plus 200 cash! Not too bad I think...
  23. Sure did... Did you notice MTV didn't care about the cars, they went straight to the Banshee! Haha...
  24. Haha and I'm only askin 2300... Thanks for dispelling that. Times are tough right now so Shee will have to go but I have a Police Interceptor to trade for another one...
  25. Are you sure your not the resident ass??
