  1. So is there a replacement plug boot that doesnt use the metal nipple on the top of the spark plug that anyone know's of? My ngk boots are about a season old, but they've always carbonized the nipple on top of the spark plug and it's getting old. My line of thinking is if it snaps down the threaded area on the top of the spark plug that it will have a better connection. Any opinions are appriciated. -Aaron
  2. Hey guy's, not tryin to hijack but 4 ounces of oil is what, 32:1 or 40:1? cant find my ratio cup at the moment. And i usually run 32:1.
  3. Good points, and an interesting read vintage. Always nice to learn new stuff and different point's of view.
  4. Hey do you have a pic of it (color of hardware) and is it the rebuildable one? Thanks, Aaron.
  5. The tors were removed a long time ago, i ended up getting a new cdi and just switching my plugs to it(leaving the parking brake lead cut/sealed), instant fat blue spark. Bottom line, my cdi was fried. Thanks for the replies
  6. Are the 3GG-00 cdi's and the 3GG-10 interchangeable? the plugs look the same from the picture. Thanks in advance. -Aaron
  7. if just cleaning them doesnt work. My link the rubber on the tip of the needle valve that shuts the fuel off over time get's a groove in it from seating, i just had to replace mine.
  8. thanks blowit, ill have to retest it tomorrow when i go over to my shop. Kinda weird the service manual is wrong but it is what it is. everything seems to be working fine except the coil so ill see how it goes.
  9. So i need a question or two answered about checking a coil. Ive tested the secondary on my coil with plug/wire/boot on and nothing, ive tested it with nothing on it, still nothing. Im getting no spark whatsoever when i used to get a weak spark. I tested my wife's blaster and i get resistance across the secondary easily and it has a fat blue spark. Does this mean my coil's toast? Also i checked for voltage on the orange/black leads that go to the coil and it's getting plenty of voltage when kicked. -Aaron
  10. waiting on desert season. . .

  12. So is there anywhere i can buy oil at a decent price online, amsoil/maxima or whatever? seems hard to find. thanks. -Aaron
  13. My office is down the street from alba, and indeed they are closing down. They were finishing loading up all the bikes in crates still today when i passed. Thier customer service, in the shop and from online orders was appauling to say the least. The same parts on thier online site were on average twice the price if you walked into the store, so gtfo alba. peace. -Aaron
  14. San Diego !!
  15. +1 on the ODI's as well. They are very comfortable and sticky, plus a few allen screw's and your grips will never twist again.
  16. The head is completly stock and im about at sea level here in san diego. im using a screw in compression gauge. It does have the TORS still on it. I have not expierenced any of the tors related problems people talk about here on HQ(bogging rev-limiting or anything) I started it in 3 kicks in my shop this morning which kinda drives me nuts cause i was having so many problems with it out at buttercup(20 miles south of Glamis). Ill look around for bare grounded wiring and check spark on both sides and try unplugging the tors...but since it's starting fine here at home it's gonna be hard to figure out. Ill also check out the plug caps. i ordered reeds just to replace the stock ones already...gonna pull the carbs, clean em and put the reeds in. hopefully it's something simple like the plug caps, thanks for the help!
  17. So i bought a 95 banshee thats in really good condition, clean ect. It started fine anytime i tried to start it in my shop for 3 weeks before i went out to the desert. This weekend when i went out...it started right up out of the truck, i warmed it up and shut it off then it wouldnt start back up without pull-starting it. the only thing done to the bike is FMF pipes and a K&N air filter/outerwear kit. The next morning it started up easily and didnt give me trouble all day...till it got dark then it wouldnt start again. it idles perfect...runs strong just is hard to start when it's warm. the compression is decent still i believe around 128 in both sides. Could it be my reeds(i believe original)? ive searched the forums but havnt found anyone with a problem quite the same. Thanks in advance guy's.
