  6. I totally agree. This is kind of a side note, but if you have to gap your plugs down to nothing, it usually means your ignition is getting weak. The only vehicle Ive ever owned that I had to gap the plugs on was my 03 Cobra that was shoving 16 atmospheres into the combustion chamber(blower motor). I tried one time running it with out closing the gap on the plugs and as soon as I looked at WOT it fucking did all kinds of crazy shit that sounded like a 1000 hp supra hitting a 10 grand rev limiter. Anyways you should not have spark blow out with a NA motor. Blower, turbo, twin screw, centrifugal that is a different story.

Unless you find out its in your harness, which I don't see happening but maybe(not ruling that out completely), if your breaking up in the top end RPMs its possible that its detonating and not getting enough fuel, to much timing, too much compression and timing together etc etc. Ive actually had this happen to me once, all I did was change domes and la la, my bike started breaking up in the top end. Not long after that it was motor rebuild time lol, not kidding. It could be just a pipe change, dome change, timing change, blah blah. Its just enough to cause your motor to detonate before it should.

  10. uhh I have 2 plugs in front of me that tell me a much different story. I agree that they don't show a lot as far as idle, 1/4 throttle, or 1/2 throttle, but they tell a shitload about WOT. Well at least mine do lol.
  11. You need to do a plug chop...Look it up online, you will find some tips for sure. You may be rich or lean, its hard to say unless you do a plug chop. Lean and Rich conditions can actually act very similar in a lot of ways, so be careful. Good luck..Windy is right, you need to do a lot of studying before you tackle this one, because it doesn't sound like your builder has tuned the carbs properly.
  12. Check the plugs to see for sure what your fuel to air mixture is before doing anything. This might save a lot of headache.
  13. Sounds lean to me. Alky can be extremely rich and still run just fine. It could be something in the wiring but doubtful. Do you have the powerjets all the way out? Do you have a big vent hole in your tank? Dual pingle? Sounds like its not getting enough fuel on the top end at WOT, but has enough to sustain just average riding around.
  14. check your seals around the intake, then do a leak down.
