I think mostly on these bikes bad stators just start to throw off sparkplug readings at first and just runs poorly. Other times it will cause timing to act fucked, backfire or random shut downs or no spark Guess it depends if its a pickup coil going bad or if its a bad stator ground or something. Bad stator will definitely backfire. If there is Insufficient spark on one side unburnt fuel will cause a backfire. Usually if it was a stator it would break down in the higher rpm I would imagine but you never know. Reeds are another thing I would definitely check. They'll do shit like that if the petals are cracked or have way too much gap they'll suck excessive air. Aside from that could be a pilot circuit issue or slides in backwards or fucked up just giving you some ideas. Sent from my MB886 using Tapatalk

If so I wouldn't be surprised if a previous owner ran pods and didn't keep clean and had the pods rubbing a hole in them on frame or some shit.
