A compression test is easy and a good idea. Which side smokes more? If it is the right side then the crank seal could be leaking trans oil into the cylinder. I would do the comp. test first. Good luck. Mailman

OK, this is a long shot but is it possible for the stock banshee cdi to malfunction by retarding the timing. My new dyno runs are 10 to 15% lower but the curves look the same as before. I have heard of the banshee cdi boxes just failing but then the bike doesn't run. Any one have this happen to them? Thanks, Mailman ps. We did piston modifications and case porting and lost a ton of hp. I put some new pistons in it and we will dyno again on Monday to see if that caused the problem. Nate McCoy thinks we screwed up the pistons so we are trying that first.

Are you talking about at idle? If so, then I would look for a pilot jet that is clogged. The easiest way to check the carbs is to switch them; put the left carb on the right and vice versa. Now see if the other side smokes more. If so, then you know you have a carb problem. Good luck and let us know if this works. Mailman

I am trying to find a set of 72mm pistons for a cheetah pv motor. I had someone do some "experimental" grinding on mine and I lost a ton of power. I need the 10018MO7200 ones and Trinity (Monopoly) is out of them. I tried TDR and they only have one. Vitos doesn't carry them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mailman

I am looking for a good set of front brake calipers from an older banshee. From 87-89 would work. They need to be from a j arm banshee. Mailman

I have a used set of regular buff Scat-Trak extreme haulers in a 10 paddle. Tires only. They are a couple of years old. No leaks, holes, etc. Put them on rims and you will be happy. They are a little worn down compared to brand new ones but no damage at all. The rollout is closer to a 21" tire. Only $175 shipped. Pm me for pics. Mailman

I am trying to help a friend raise an '89 shee from the dead. He has no front brakes on the bike. He does have rotors on it. We have a newer front master cyl, brake lines, and newer style calipers off of a 2000 banshee. Any ideas of how to make this work? I think if I had some older style calipers then that would solve my problem but I feel they will be hard to find. Could I swap the knuckle/spindles out for a newer style knuckle/spindle setup so the newer brakes would fit? Mailman

I was wondering if anyone had any success running a 95+ hp banshee without a lockout clutch for duning and hill shooting? Obviously you would need hd springs (Barnetts or Toomeys) and better fibers and steels. Also, if a lockout is needed, then can it be run competitively without an overide trans? Mailman
