Im just a newb but I think if your putting 90 miles on plugs and not fouling them out you cant be running very rich... I dont think its going to hurt your performance. I change my plugs every 16 hours anyways...

Yea I sent him a PM just waiting for a reply...

I have a ugly purple J amr frame. I thought about keeping it and painting it but someone put a thick ass purple powder coat on it that I dont want to deal with. Id like to spend around 100-200. I live in central indiana and would drive 150 miles to pick it up. I dont think I can get one shipped for 100-200 bucks so if anyone in the area has one for sale let me know. I may consider a another J arm frame if the price is right...thanks

Here is just a little take off clip from a drag of my 89 banshee smoking brand new 450r and 06 700 raptor. I ended up winning by about 5 lengths with the 450r in second. yzf was pipped, K and N filter.

I posted before about a j arm banshee i bought for 1,000. I checked all the fluids and gave it a good lube and decided it was time to put it to use at Haspin. Within 5 minutes the chain broke......New X-ring chain 80 bucks. Then the plugs fouled. Then a coolant line blew. All of which were things I fixed on the spot. The deal breaker was again losing spark on the Banshee after a complete electrical system replacement. As I was getting ready to load up and drive three hours home a Banshee HQ member Rollinrhino told me it sounded like my fly wheel keeper was off. How he could tell I didnt know but he talked me through taking the flywheel off and installing a new keeper. After the new keeper was on it ran better than it ever has. Thanks to Rhino I got another 4 hours of riding in that day. The Banshee didnt give me any more trouble even after taking it on some very nasty trails........Thanks Banshee HQ

How can I tell what type they are?

Banshee no start but push start....SOLUTION

Im not a expect but I think my problem was not having a flywheel to generate spark rather than needed a rebuild -
Ive been to busy fixing this Banshee then to acutally try to figure out what exactly it is. I bought it from a guy for 1000.00 the guy had it given to him and didnt know anything about it. He told me it has boeysen reeds, toomey t-5 exhaust, some type of porting and polishing, 38mm carbs, and some type of big bore kit. I just got the mic to measure the bore and was wondering if there were any type of torque specs for the head bolts? I figured the guy was full of crap about the big bore kit and the porting but I did measure the carbs and they are 38mm I can also say it dosnt run rich. It must have something to be using that much fuel? My buddie is a better rider and he was pulling on some 450's with it. Anyways anyone know if there are torque specs? Anyone know what such a banshee would be worth?

Banshee no start but push start....SOLUTION

I posted before about my Banshee not getting spark. After replacing the wiring harness, coil, and CDI I decided to replace the coil. When my buddy was pulling the flywheel cover out comes the flywheel. Looks like no damage was done. I feel pretty dumb........................ -
Banshee No spark..but will push start?
Keyser Soze replied to Keyser Soze's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yea im postive there is no spark. I tried kicking the hell out of it in a dark room and putting my finger on the cap when my friend kicked. The pick up coil makes the most sense. If it was gaped to far it would work if it was push started? Anyone have any idea on what the gap is supossed to be? I dont have anything other then a tape measure lol I heard about the thickness of a matchbook? When I get it figured out ill let you know what I had to to. -
After replacing the CDI and Coil im looking to also replace the stator. The quad gets no spark and the pickup coil is what is suspected. When I had the cover off last it was starting to currod so Id like to get a new one. I live in central indiana and would pick it up within 100 miles. Or we could set something up with paypal. On a side note the quad is also for sale for 1800.00. It has toomey t-5 exhaust, 38mm carbs, TORS blocker, parking break blocker, and a few other misc upgrades. I was told it was a 4 mil stroker but I do not have the stuff to measure it. I can say it is WAAAy faster than the stock 98 banshee I had.

A couple weeks ago my banshee crapped out deep on a trail at haspin acres in indiana. While I was being towed back I popped it in gear and it fired right up. It sounded bad, and missed out unless you gave it alot of gas. After checking this out there is no spark when you kick start it. I replaced the coil and CDI but still no spark. The stator passes a continuity and resistance test so I didnt think that that could be it? The kill switch and key switch were also disabled and still no spark. The TORS have been removed as well. Anyone really good the the electrical on these things? I dont know where to turn. There are not really any professional shops around here.

Yea thats my question. Basically I have a nice set of rear tires from a warrior or blaster I forget what they came off of but its one of those.....The hub pattern is hudge on my 89 Banshee the hubs look aftermarket. Can I put smaller hubs on the axle? I cant put the nice tires on the rims because they are much bigger rims....Anyone know?

Why did it post this three times! lol im not trying to thread spam.

I have a 1989 Banshee. I have some really nice wheels and tires from a old warrior or blaster that I would like to put on my Banshee. Are the rear hubs from a warrior/banshee/blaster interchangable? Ive heard that they are but wanted to be sure before bidding on ebay.

I read the tech doc on polishing and am thinking about messing around with it this weekend. What parts can and cant be polished. Whats a good peice to start on?

Man I seen that Green frame for sale in the wanted section.....Man your frame is ugggreie and out of my price range. Didnt you say it was powder coated? Id have to get it blasted or spend 40 hours on it with a wire brush. Maybe worth $340 to you but its worth $200 to me.

Im located in Central Indiana. I have a J arm banshee but recently got a deal on some A arms and would like tp purchase a A-arm frame. Ive seen them on ebay anywhere from $65.00 to $600. I was looking to pay around $150.00. I may be willing to pick it up depending on location.

I have a 89 Banshee. While riding last week it bogged way down and died. It was unable to be kick started. I check for spark there was none. While I was being towed I popped it into gear and it fired right up. It seemed to run fine. I was even able to kick start immeditlely after shutting it off. I shut it off and tried to kick start it two minutes later and....nothing no spark. My coil was already pretty beat up so it was replaced. The stator gave a good resitance test. Could it be my CDI? Or even stator? Could it be a bad ground? Where is the main ground on a 89 Banshee?

I got this 1988 banshee for 1000 cash. It had bad plastic and a bent frame near the grab bar. I welded the frame and with new plastic it looks sweet. I was told it had a big bore stroker kit in it, 38mm carbs, and boyesen reeds. I can say it has a toomey t-5 exhaust but thats all I can verify. Is there any way to tell if there is a big bore kit in it. My friend has a piped and .20 over 2003 banshee. We raced a 200 yard length and I beat him by about 40. He rode it and told me something had definatley been done and I should sell it immidiatly to aviod death. Is there a easy way to tell without taking it to a machine shop? The head has a stock casting number figured you would have to have something aftermarket with a big bore. I also noticed the ball joints have some slop on the J- arms is there any way to replace the joints or do a I need whole new arms? Sorry to throw out so many questions on my first post but when I was searching topics it looks like people are happy to answer questions.
