  1. i did a top and bottom. i am using gas that was sitting since thanksgiving. do you think that gas is bad? i also installed the tors removal kit on it. i unplugged the ignition box located under the left front fender. was i supposed to remove something else for it to start? the carbs are freshly rebuilt. thanks
  2. hi all, i just got done doing a rebuild and now she wont start. instead of firing up, she makes a noise similar to that of a stick shift car putting a reverse when you are driving forward. it smells like it wants to start, and my my brand new hour meters says 0.1 hour on it now. what do i do? thanks in advance
  3. you can get the clutch holding tool from rockymountainatv.com for like 15 bucks. it is a good investment since you will need it to put the clutch back on. the tool also doubles as fly wheel holder. i hope this helps.
  4. you should put a socket over the seal and tap it in place. that way it goes in straight.
  5. the domes i got from dave noss are 21cc and are cut for stroker crank. my squish is a little off, i am getting .056 on the left and .057 on the right. i am going to exchange them for another pair, so i can t run them. my carbs are off, because i plan on taking them in to get bored out to 27.5mm. will there be a big difference from a cold compression test versus the hot one, thanks for all your help banshee man.
  6. i am doing a fresh rebuild and i am getting 150psi on the left side and 160 psi on the right. my port job was done by ct racing. i am gonna spray some wd40 into the plug holes and do it again. is there anything else i can check? i am also having trouble with my kick starter sticking in the down position, every 10th or 12th kick. why is it doing that? please help, thanks.
  7. hi all, i am doing a compression test and i am just above sea level. i get 150 psi in the left jug and 160 in the right one. is this normal, or do i have an uneven port job? thanks

  9. hi all, i just put my shee back together and i stuffed the motor into the frame. i am doing the compression test, but when i am kicking her over, the kick starter sticks in the down position. when i put the starter gear in, i remember i put some tension on the return spring. do you think i need to go back in, and release the tension? thanks.
  10. hi all, i just got done doing some expensive mods for my shee. i am running out of money, so i want to have my stock carbs bored out. do you think this is a good idea? will i get any power increases? and how much should i take off? i got some guys in the machine shop at work that will do it for free. what do you guys think, thanks.
  11. hi all, the pilot jetts are stock which are 25. the mains are 280 which came with the t6 kit. these jets worked great for the stock crank with pipe kit, but i am clueless which jets to use now with my new mods, please help, thanks.
  12. hi all, i need some help on which size jets to get. here is my setup: +4 crank dune/stroker port job bored jugs 65.5mm noss head 21cc cut domes +4 timing stock reeds bored stock carbs 27.5 i live in california and glamis is just below sea level at -56 ft. what size mains and pilots should i go with? do you think it would be better if i went with a jet kit? any help would be great, thanks.
  13. hi all, thanks for the responses. what do you think about the squish clearance. i think i am going to send them back to dave noss so i can get a tighter squish. i hear that .040 is the magic number. i don t want to run the motor cuz i can t return them to dave. i have a stroker / dune port, done by ct racing. i also hear that i am suppose to have about 155 psi to run pump gas. should i exchange the 21cc +2 domes for 22cc +2 domes? thanks
  14. hi all, i am doing a complete rebuild. i just stuffed the motor and i am doing the compression test. i have the carbs and pipes off and i am getting 130 psi on the left and 120 in the right. are you suppose to have a spark plug in the hole you are not testing? i have a +4 crank and 21cc cut domes. my squish is .056 and .057. i am in just above sea level and its like 75 degrees in california right now. how much psi does the test hose hold? is this normal? thanks
  15. can you test the compression with the carbs off? right now my motor is on a mini pallet. i plan on tying it down to the pallet with a ratchet strap and kicking it over for the compression test. what do you all think? thanks

  18. hi all, i am doing a complete rebuild, this is what i have: 05 banshee toomey t6s adjustable timing plate +4 hot rods stoker crank +4mm hot rods stroker pistons dune/stroker port job noss cool head with 21cc cut stroker domes i ride at glamis, just below sea level. for now, due to lack of money, i plan on running stock reeds and carbs with k&N clamp ons. what size jets should i run? what clip position on the needles? do i need to change the pilot jets? how many turns on the pilot air screw? thanks for the help.
  19. hi all, i recently purchased a chain slider set made by modquad, from rocky mountain. i am trying to replace the front slider, buy removing the main pivot bolt from the swing arm. the problem is, i can t get the damn bolt out!!! it spins freely but it wont slide out. the shock is out and the bottom dog bone is removed. i tried banging on one side with a hammer and pulling on the other with vise grips. i am pretty much tapped out, any advice would be helpful, thanks.

  21. hi all, i just got a modquad chain roller set. it did not come with any instructions. does anybody know how to install this. will i have to remove the swing arm? how does fit exactly, any picture will help, thanks.
  22. :ermm: hi all, i had k&n clamp on for my stock carbs, and they flowed great. the problems is they like to fall off from time to time. does anyone know any tricks on keeping these on? i am going with foam uni clamp ons next time, thanks.

  25. hi all, i am about ready to have my cylinders ported. i have a new +4 mm crank and i only ride in sand. my question is, what type of porting do i ask for? stroker porting or dune porting or a combination of both? is there such a thing? thanks
