  1. True indeed brandon... But you said that you just honed the cylinder?? Or did you bore the cylinder?
  2. You would have heard piston slaap and you would have noticed damage to the skirts of the piston as well. Did you check your ring end gap after installed in the cyl? (Where the rings would potentailly have connected)
  3. Haha.. Yea she is, I'll tell her you complimented her... Anyway your boy hooking you up with a good deal on shocks is awsome. Thats how I got my shocks to. (probably the only way I would have gotten fully adjustable shocks!) Well glad I could help dude, post some pics when you get your suspension togaether.... And if you need a hand setting your camber and caster let me know... I'll make you able to hang with Honda's geometry
  4. HAhahahaha... You guys replying "So True" Need to get out more.... lol, its Two Thousand god damn eight out here. If your not getting laid......... Sheeesh  :yelrotflmao: My girl is new age.... She workin on this other chic right now tryin to get her home to our house for a little I think I'll make my avatar picture a pic of my girl for you guys who are feelin the pain of marriage
  5. Also, I havent ever had a prob with works shocks... But they certainly arent as well built as axis. (you get what you pay for when It comes to shocks) But you can save alot of money by not getting every upgrade you can on your shocks from works. If you want adjustable compression and rebound you might want to save up some serious cash ma man.... But judging by your origanal post, I dont think you need all that... You just need a better than stock shock to get you handleling better
  6. Good choice man, just make sure your get a set of 4 and 1 offset front rims if your going with +3 + 1 A arms... This way your still only about +2. I actually would have went +2 + 1 but I already had my 4 and 1 wheels. I am only telling you this because its a lot of money to spend and you should really consider how your setup will effect your riding style. If your racing woods like me (or riding anything like a gncc race like you mentioned) your not gonna want to run stock offset wheels (3 and 2) with + 3 + 1 a arms.... Youll be motocross wide which isnt ideal for tight woods at all. Just something to think about.
  7. Your problem is from the wire to the plug.... The banshees coil fires both plugs every time it fires so its probably a problem with your wire or boot on that side
  8. The rear banshee shock is an awsome shock... Maybe if anything send it to works to get the heart transplant and set for your exact weight n style. As for the front ASR's dude, you wont be disapionted. I just got the whole front end and wow. I'm using some Works triple rates right now and all I do is woods race. I'd say its 30X's better than stock. Im sure those Axis shocks are even nicer. But the best thing about the ASR Arms is the adjustability you get out of them. If you go with them let me know, I can help you dial them in for fast light handling thru woods.
  9. An hour??? Really?? Are you guys talking a "rebuild"?? Or swapping a main and pilot and moving the needle while spraying everything clean in the process? Cause I got that down to 20 minutes
  10. Found an airleak in the intake huh?? Well that would do it That would certainly make the mixture on that side at least LEAN.... With all this testing hope you didnt hurt that motor So, thats just wierd it took you that long to find that though, you said tried carb cleaner or something to check for that??? That usually works.
  11. Nice bike man... Lookes like you built it for the woods, Thats whats up. I gotta take some pics of mine. Very similar
  12. HAha... "The man himself!" That was hilarious Anyway, I havent done a compression check yet but the whole top end is brand new (along with the bottem end for that matter) And I can pretty much tell that my compression is way higher than its ever been by kicking it.... And Ive always kept good compression before all these new parts.. (new rings and hone stone every 30 hrs) With all that being said, I was running C12 race fuel and a 32:1 mixture of Golden Spectro... And Dave, you told me when the motor starts too detonate it feels similar to a rev limiter.... Thats kinda what I felt towards the very top end of gears... Kinds just like vibration almost. Needless to say I didnt ride that much longer after that and I certainly didnt take it to where I felt detonation! So do you guys agree??? Detonation or no??? I'm runnin 330 mains now and started at 390's.. I havent done a plug chop yet b/c I cant find a friggin stretch long enough to do one... But I really dont think its leanin out up there at the top end. ::
  13. Does "Wicked" sponser this website?????
  14. Stud removal tool is certainly the way to go... I had to heat the area around two studs (that were being little bitches) with a torch. That works really well, but you have to be extremely careful not to heat it to the piont of warping or doing any damage. Oh and by the way, this stuff I use called PB BLASTER in a yellow can works ten times better than any other rust penetrant/ lube I've ever used.. Not sure if its available everywhere or not tho?
  15. Definatly didnt stress the looks enough... Just nasty lookin for sure, I got the black one for an extra twenty just to stay sleeper mode... Thats just how I get down
  16. Splitting the case isnt really hard at all, the only special tool you should really own is a flywheel puller. After removing the top end and the clutch basket and stator/flywheel assmbly its just 12 mils holding the cases together. I personally didnt need a case splitter... Mine came apart with a couple of taps w/ a deadblow mallet.... But anyway, that cylinder DEFINATLEY leaned out big time! Might wanna check that sides intake setup for vac leaks man.. My 2 cents
  17. Dudes.. I must say this head is a quality piece and Dave over there at Noss is a BANSHEE MAN, and knows his shit period. And the best part is we here at Banhsee H.Q get a discount. But really this guy is the man, I think hes a member on here but I'm a noob so I dont know shit really... If you are Dave.... Whats up?! I ordered the black head and 20's and my shit is R I P P I N G HARD... But I think its detonated a tad little bit. I may need to retard the timing slightly :wallbash:
  18. Bike is sick... That chick aint all that sick tho.. lol
  19. I cant find an installed pic of these anywhere... I have the set with adj. caster (Hiem style) uppers... To be totally honest Im not sure if I have the arms installed on the wrong sides!! I tried flipping them but it seems they would interfere with the shock... I need to see a pic of these installed, PLEEEAAASE fellow Banshers help a rida' out... And If anyone know the stock castor numbers (degrees) I would apprciate Thanks!!!
  20. Doods... I need to see a pic of these ASR + 3 + 1's installed... I got the bike on the ground and the suspension isnt binding at all but it sure looks all wrong... I dunno tho maybe there supposed to look like this???
  21. http://www.tunerschoice.com/xq/aspx/path.1...ctLargeView.htm This stuff is incredable.. I have been using it for years
  22. Burple!!!!! I just say that whenever I can... :ermm:
  23. And twists are great if you know how to keep "bounce" in your elbows when your riding.... And of coarse you need to know where your clutch lever is if you do get into trouble....
  24. Throttle cable will do it... also the slide springs are way more diesel then they need to be.. I cut mine down and its much easier on they o' thumbpiece... This does however increase the chances of the slides stickin wide open... Fun stuff
  25. Get rid of the pods brotha... take the stack exaust apart and let carb cleaner soak in the pipes for a while.... (Or any solvent cleaner really) EXCEPT for the silencers themselves... they cant be soaked.... After youve removed all the oil build up in the exhaust (just a guess there is oil all in them) get your self a stock air box off Gaybay, and rock with a KnN from there.. Now your ready to rejet
