I rode the 525 and 450 my god are they some nice machines handelin performance and all it was a great bike imo. They are pricey but well worth it. Still like my shee better and i can do alot more to it with the money they want for a ktm

I think you will be better off spliting the cases and checking everything out. Its kind of a motto do it once do it right. I did my case splitting myself it isnt so bad just becarefull and make sure you got a clymers manual right there and the lap top on hand also i did lol. There are alot of guys on here who are really good with these engines and will help you with any questions you need and even give you tips on how to and what nots. I ate a steering wheel in the late 90's had all mine takin out got false ones now but anyways the only thing for the pain is alot of whiskey and alot more just keep it up until u pass out and when u wake up do it again unless u can get a morphine drip your hurting. salt water is just to keep it from getting infected the whiskey will keep it numb espically with some good pain pills. I did mine by myself it was a littel harder but it went right in. It was alot easier for me that way instead of woring around the frame i thought.

yeah i think that would work but that has to be something else that works with out jerry riggin it up like that im thinking of tapping it and useing a small screw. There has to be a way just havent found it or heard it yet.

I'm having a promblem with a carb issue i dont excatly know what it is called but here goes on my carb there is a pin keeps popping out on me and it makes the slide spin on me every few rides and the engine revs real high. I keep having to push it in lightly and then its all good is there a way to fix this and what the hell is the term for it? I half to use a long screw driver to pop it back in 1 can i drill that and put a screw in there? 2 Is it old and wore out and i just need new carbs they are stock carbs

The only promblem a had was with the o-rings and i used vasoline and they kept popping out so i cleaned it all off and used a littel bit of spray addhesive and it worked for me something you might want to have around .

My bike did the same thing you blew a cranck seal and you could smell gas bad and it smoked like a freight train.

Expensive yes maintance yes worry free what really is worry free when your beating something and riding it hard.Reilable yeah i have rode my bike for months and months before anything has happened to her. Its just like any other bike you have owned you know the maintance on it you know what to check you know what to look for when your riding and what to check after you ride and always check stuff before you even go for a ride.

I think it depends on what the bike looks like some look good with a bumper and some dont . I have the old dg on mine it came in handy a few times for me.
