  1. The 230's are a good starting point. If it has a high rpm bog then comes alive again, go up on them. This is a sign the PV's are opening too late. Remember, as you make changes to the pv you will also have to look at jetting again. If it feels like it's lacking on bottom to mid, the PV's could be opening too soon. Best time to consider some dyno time, these aren't as simple to tune as a cub or stock cyl motor. -Brandon
  2. I do the same as Cam. I took a set of Keihin jets and tapped them. I intalled a screw in the end with some sealant and am able to seal the PV's off for leakdown that way. I much prefer doing the leakdown test as the motor will be run, rather than using a blockoff to seal it. -Brandon
  3. All of our crank rebuilding, trueing and welding labor is done in house. The only crank work I outsource is balancing, lightening and stroking.
  4. fabricate a piston stop using a piece of bar. Bolt it between two of your studs. Rotate the engine forward and back to stop, make sure your are the same degrees before and after TDC when it contacts the stop. When you remove the stop, you will be able to rotate to true TDC. If you know the dome rise of the piston you can also set your indicator to zero at the piston stop and measure the upward travel to TDC, subtract the dome rise of the piston from this measurement to get your deck height. Keep in mind some pistons have stampings on the crown that raise from the dome slightly. -Brandon
  5. You have to drill it out. 12mm as far as I know they only make one.
  6. I recommend 4 heat cycles lightly revving the engine untill it reaches operating temperature, 180 degrees +/-. This may take longer in lower ambient temperatures. Let it cool to room temperature between cycles. Once it has cooled down the 4th time, re-torque. Then run it as normal. I don't recommend allowing the bike to sit at idle any longer than to establish the pilot circuit is tuned properly. With roller bearings there is no need to allow for a long break in process. The moly rings should be seated hot for best performance. Always run the same pre-mix ratio you plan to run permanantly, as this will affect jetting. The heat cylces are a good time to verify your pilot and needle settings as well as check for leaks or other issues. Also remember to warm the bike in the same manner described before each ride to prevent cold seizure, especialy when running forged pistons. -Brandon
  7. I can probably get you one here by Easter if you get it on order Monday.
  8. You won't likely see much if any loss of power with your current setup running a single carb. You could run the dual 34's, but they will be a little more difficult to tune than the single or stock ones. I usually recommend dual 28 on a relatively stock motor. Personally I'd recommend you look for a different exhaust system before spending any money on other parts. What type/types of riding do you do? We can make some better exhaust recommendations. The dual 34's or larger would be a great mod once you start looking to get it ported or stroked/ported. Hope this helps.
  9. Jose, That cub you bought is ported for the CPI's. Might want to hang onto them. Just sayin.
  10. I can't speak for other builders. But, I won't port a set of last bore cylinders for a customer. Bad investment in my opinion. As earlier posts said, look into the additional supporting mods and look into some different oil. Marine oil is designed for engines with a much cooler operating temperature. As for porting you could(should) look into new/er cylinders first. You can go aftermarket or find a set of low bore stockers. Nice looking bike btw
  11. We have a Kibblewhite Spring kit, 2 Black Diamnond Intake Valves, 2 Black Diamond Exhaust Valves, 2 intake Valve Guides, 2 exhaust valve guides, for a TRX450R or ER. We will do all the items for $300.00. This would retail for about $385.00 Hit us up if you have any questions or if your interested. Thanks Brandon
  12. we need to be very carefull not to heavily advertise this as a planned racing event. The BLM will shut us down. I think it would be fun as long as people are willing to leave their ego's at home. I deffinately plan to do some fun grudge racing with what we have. I don't currently have any setup 350's in my stable but would love to help out and watch. I know the Vincent boys have got some decent running ones out there. Brandon
  13. I've been wondering the same. The pics he posted look to be a quality piece, but looks can be decieving. It would be nice to have an alternative to the OE that would work as well or better for a reasonable price.
  14. Because of issues I and customers have had in the past, I have not sold, and will not sell your parts to my customers until I see that the product has been fixed. These guys on here are not going to just take your word for it at this point. When somebody offers a product it is assumed that the product has been tested for quality. Once the quality of a company's products come into question as much as yours have, you just need to start at square one and start getting your name out there again, but with a good product this time. -Brandon
  15. In stock, $85 plus shipping. Dual pingel with adapter plate non reserve.
  16. Put some gas dumps, jets and needles in them. Shut off the power jets and they are gas carbs again
  17. lol Jared, not sure about that one. Looking forward to this ride!
  18. Easter is pretty early this year, probably not going to be good weather. But regarless it will be a huge party, always is.
  19. Might help if you post a size, or your elevation. Other things to consider are exhaust port duration and pipes to name a few. -Brandon
  20. They can be setup to run well but IMO out of the box the timings are wrong and the quality is so-so. I prefer to support US made products when I can. CP industries offers the cheetah cub and serval cylinders at a price that I feel is good for the level of quality you're getting and the performance is there as well. Which cylinder you choose will depend on your intended purpose for the engine. -Brandon
  21. I can put them together as a kit for $119.50. Best I can do
  22. You just barely bought these didn't you Josh?
