  1. Yeah i read the reviews for them and there were more goods than bads,, i figured what the hell! they're cheap!! and thanks for the info on the springs man! Bansh-eman what year FZR 1000 do i want to get for the fibers?
  2. I ordered some new clutched from RM about a week ago and exspecting them in the next couple days!! I figured i'd try out the tusk clutch kit with the heavy duty springs, just to see how they work, anyone use them in they're shee? but i was wonder is i see on here where people use just half the heavy duty springs, and the other half stock? what does this do? any tips would be great! thanks in advance guys!
  3. i don't know if this could be your problem but you said you didn't trust this guys work who put the top end together,, my friend had a yz 125 with the same problems and it turned out that the guy who had it b4 him put the piston in backwards,, what do you guys think? just an idea
  4. that sounds great! how do you wanna do this? i never bought anything off the internet b4,, thanks Bill!
  5. i've sunk every penny i have into my shee! i need to find a set of good arms for a reasonable price, my balljoints are about to snap!!! i'm afraid to ride it and i can't afford new ones, can someone please help me get back on the trails?
  6. does the coil have to be mounted on the frame to be checked?
  7. i guess my only real question is,, do i have to split the case to replace the right side crank seal? as much as i've been working on this shee i am slowly getting to know every nut and bolt! but i haven't had to change these seals yet,, learning as i go! thanks guys how bout a reply??????
  8. so far i have about 2 hours on a complete engine rebuilt, i parked it in the garage a couple nights ago and when i came out to the garage i noticed it leaking coolant,, noticed it was coming from the hose joint that goes into the clutch from the head. so i took off the side case to replace with a new o-ring,, i thought i was done after that but i noticed the right side crank seal was half way pushed out (one side still in and the other side was pushed out) it was pushed out just enough for the gears to take a little piece off of it, do i need to split the cases to replace it? and what would have caused this? bad mechanic maybe? so far it wouldn't surprise me!! like i said everything was just replaced! 2 hours of ride time,, all i know is for this being my first shee it's done nothing but cost me money! not a very good 1st impression, but i have wanted one ever since the first time i heard my 1st shee! lol please give me some good news! thanks again guys! you haven't let me down yet!
  9. actually i can't see the breathers lol,, i did look it up on here and found that the front and rear breathers meet at the T and just another hose is connected to it that goes up and doesn't connect to anything? if i'm wrong let me know,, when i blew through the front breather, by the water pump i could hear it bubbling in the case and felt a little bit of air coming out of the back breather,, and when i blew through the rear breather it took a little air and stopped, i about passed out! lmao and oil started coming out of the hose from the front breather,, if i take the dipstick out they both flow freely other than the bubbling sound when i blow in the front breather, does any of this make sense? and thanks for the pic FireHead!
  10. thanks alot, pics would be great!
  11. after i had my engine out for about 8 months i can't seem to figure out where the breathers connect, i currently have the one coming out of the clutch side running into a T and the one that comes out of the back of the case meets into it,, on the T tho there is another place for a hose and i can't figure where it goes to? today there was oil coming out of it ! can anybody point me in the right direction? i have a clymer book but it doesn't show where they run to
  12. I have all kinds of terrain where i live,, shale, gravel, mud, coal, rocky,, i do alot of hillclimbing, and trail riding, and hit the jumps when they are there,, alot of the hills around here are shale tho, so i'd like to have 6 ply,, i just know with the bandits on trails with alot of leaves i can barely make a hill,, it just spins all over the place
  13. the same thing happened to mine and my mechanic told me it was from cold start,, which is from not letting it warm up b4 you go balls to the wall! so to speak, he said the right side is known for it, why? i dunno, but i let mine warm up for about 10-15 minutes b4 i ride it now!!! lol hasn't done it since,, but of course i don't ride double either,,
  14. i was also lookin at tires from BKT called WING? has anyone tried them?
  15. i am lookin to change my rear tires back to stock size,, i currently have 20-10-9 bandit tires on itp wheels,, i just don't get enough traction with them, my clymer book says in 88 stock size was 22-10-9, i figure this might give me some more ground clearance as well,, but i'v been lookin at the bear claw tires by kenda but i can only get them in 22-12-9, will the size be ok? they look to be a good aggressive tire plus they're 6 ply!! has anyone ever tried these on they're shee?, i used to have shredders on my old quad and they seemed to do really well too! will a heavier tire help with traction? i'm open to any suggestions,, thanks guys
  16. hey guys! i just changed my main jets from a 240 to 280, as i was told to, cause of my mods, dg pipes, kn in box with drilled lid, it ran good with the 240s and the needle set on the 4th clip on the rich side, 27.5 pilot air screw about 1 3/4 out, it does bog when you just punch the throttle from idle, when i changed the mains to 280 it was backfiring from about half to full throttle, so i put the needle back to stock 3rd clip,, didn't change a thing, it doesn't seem to rip like it did with the 240's, shpuld i go back to them? when i checked the plugs they were wet with gas! can anyone help me with my jetting? i want to get rid of that bottom end bog when i punch the throttle and the backfiring,, the engine only has about 2 hours on it with new 60 over pro-lite pistons compression is around 230 on each cylinder

  18. A friend of mine called me 2night and said he found a set of toomey 2-1 pipes for $150, i currently have the DG full system,, i was wonder how much of a difference they will make from my current set-up? i read on a different site that a guy put them on his and said he lost all his bottom end? if they are better than my pipes i will get them, and if i do what should my jetting be? currently 280 mains, 27.5 pilot needle on 4th groove,, i have a kn filter with drilled lid and pro series carbon fiber reeds, pro-lite pistons and bored to 60, how do these pipes perform and sound? if anyone could help me i know you guys can! thanks!!
  19. well i fired it up today! and it seemed to be running a little lean so i set the needle on the 4th groove from the top to richen it up, and set the air screw about 1 3/4 turns out it seems to run great!! unbeleivable! i am very impressed with it,, i haven't put it at WOT yet cause um still breaking it in, but at about half thottle it will wheelie in 5th no prob, i think i might have to go um a few on the mains about a 280 i think, when i checked the plug it was brown? i live in Karthaus Pa, my friend just sold his shee that looks just like yours! where you from?
  20. Hey, i was just wondering, i have a wrecked 92 Katana 600, and i was wondering if the coils would work on my Shee? they look identical, if they will work then great, cause i'm pretty sure my shee still has the original 1 on it,, any help would be great! thank you all for looking
  21. Yeah i've heard nothing good about boost bottles! i already took it off,, ok i'll keep the current jetting and check it, i just wasn't sure cause i've read some on here where they run around 290-300 mains, and my local yamaha dealership said he would start with 350 mains and work from there, i just needed to get some more opinions, and this seemed like the best place,, thanks alot man!
  22. I recently bought an 88 Banshee, and it needed completely rebuilt!,, i got it bored to 60 over, prolite wiseco pistons, new stock crank, it has DG full exhaust(on it when i bought it!) k/n filter without the snorkel and drilled fillter cover, boyeson pro series dual stage carbon fiber reeds, boost bottle,,TORS eliminated, but it doesn't have the idle kit i got the motor back and it has ngk b8es plugs,,, my current jetting is 240 main with 27.5 pilots, needle set on the 3rd setting,, how many turns out for the pilot air screw do i start with? before i put the carbs on i need to know if i should up my jetting? and are these the best plugs for my shee? also i was told the boost bottle just takes up space, doesn't actually do anything? i live in Pennsylvania and ride between 1500 and 2000 feet above sea level? anything you can help me with would be great, i just don't want to mess up my engine during break-in cause i have a lot of cash tide up in this thing thanks!
