4Mil Serval Cub air box/filter questions
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to uman1030's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Sorry, that set-up kills power on motors like his. Also not the best set-up for really wet conditions. -
I hear the inmate was talking some shit to the guard. The guard told him to back off before he got a beatdown. Then the inmate said "Do you even lift Bro?" That's when the guard picked him up and started cranking out reps. Turns out the original argument started when the inmate would't shut the fuck up about Cross fit.

Alright…your new here, so I'll cut you a little slack…... It's taken a few years, but we have finally managed to almost completely eliminate the word Trinity from our vocabulary on this site. Now you come on here throwing their name out there like buying products from them is actually an option. Now I'll make this simple for anyone who is not up to speed on this topic….. If your looking at a nice Ebay listing from Trinity or Parts Depot or any of the other names they hide under because they are ashamed of what their own name has become……..follow these simple rules when ordering. #1 - Place order #2 - Go to nearest doorway and drop pants #3 - Now slam your dick in the door #4 - Repete #5 - Repete #6 - Continue this process until you faint #7 - Drag yourself to the nearest computer and google the word "Trinity" and then insert any of the following words next. Domes, Shit, Blown, Crap, Screwed, Scary Fast, Dyno, HP, Reviews, Problems,….Frankly you could type in snow cone as a follow up word….the computer is still going to be smart enough to lead you to the info you need. The info you will need is to MOVE BEFORE THE SHIPMENT ARRIVES AND THEN ASK FOR A REFUND. #8 - If you didn't follow step #7 to a tee…..return to the doorway and continue repeating the process till the door falls off the hinges or your left with a vagina. Now having covered that….follow the advice of others on this site and try not to use that company name again. It really lowers peoples impression of you. (Sorry, it's kinda a guilt thru association thing. Plus victims don't like to hear the name of their assailant tossed around in a safe place like this.) My vote is REDLINE. NOBODY will get you fast stuff faster. Carry on.

Sure….Banshee's a 350 twin already 350 + 350 = 700 Thought that was covered in a post a while back. Shop must think that boring 75 thousandths over adds 75 cc's to each cylinder.

True....but I think we can agree that he's just talking out his ass about a pie in the sky notion he'd like to try some day. Not now clearly.....but some time in his life.....hopefully before he gets too old to ride or dies. On that note......I'd like to bang 2-3 playmates and 2-3 Victoria's secrete models at the same time. I know many will say it can't be done.....but goals, challenges, willing to try, blah, blah, blah I bet banging 6 top level women or running Nitro would work out to about the same overall out of pocket expense. LOL

You ready to play on THIS level?

Ok, look….there are people running nitro in Banshees. BUT….they spent YEARS running alky in very high strung machines first. Then they blew many, many motors up into total fireball piles of junk before figuring out how to tame Nitro. Now your running 220 PSI and 116. Most builders will tell you that regardless of fuel, your running too much compression because these motors tend to like numbers under 200. More compression just robs power, these motors are resonance motors…not hand grenades mounted on connecting rods. So FIRST I think you need to run a motor that actually makes serious power. (100+ HP proven) Then you can switch to alky and try getting your number over 120 HP. Then you can start dreaming about Nitro. I say this because taming a high strung, high HP motor requires tuning skills. Messing with Nitro requires TOP LEVEL tuning ability AND a deep enough pocketbook to afford to finance your own learning curve. I'm not saying it can't be done, or that you can't do it……….but right now your kinda like a 16 year old kid telling me he wants to race the Daytona 500 when you only got your license a month ago. You need a little seat time in something more advance before you dream about Nitro. Or…..just dump a R/C nitro jug in your tank and get busy figuring it out the hard way. I'm just trying to say it's an expensive experiment……but I have no skin in the game, so ultimately I could care less. Just post those carnage pics as soon as they happen OK?

My front comes up on the launch in second with a +6 And carries it thru my shift into 3rd. Guess I just make more power.

35PWK is the preferred carb for that motor. -

WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to uman1030's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Well that's a big difference compared to wet filters. Wetting filters just smothers the motor. Submerging filters and hydro locking of quenching hot parts is a fail either way. An air box is just a bathtub your carbs sit in. You dunk that air box and you'll be in deep shit too! The Carbs can suck the air box empty faster than that little drain on the bottom and drain it all out. mild bolt-on modded motors lose power with the air box lid on, so a Serval is going to choke! You wanna treat your machine like a jet ski……buy a YFZ450, leave the air box lit on and don't do any power mods. Otherwise…. K&N's with the water repellant Outerwear's is the ticket. -
+6 Watch the for sale posts here. They pop up all the time. I've bought 2 here so far…...

PODS FTW. Ditch the air box. Get K&N pods with outerwear's. Airbox is just going to kill the power of a motor that big. I've ridden the entire Badlands after 2-3 inches of rain and they work fine. I even rode the entire length of the river….IN the river! Once or twice a year I'll hit a big puddle and the motor will die (usually after I'm all the way thru) and I'll have to sit for 3-4 minutes till the outerwear's dry off. But that's when I'm telling the "Did you just see that?" story anyways. -
Nope. The OEM stock rods will hold up to ANYTHING that your OEM mind can imagine. Would you like fries with your question brah?
-
You want a challenge? Solve autism or repeal Obamacare. Nitro in a quad with your level if experience will just drive aluminum costs up nation wide.
-
Gotta grease the pivot so it spins freely where it fits into the lever.
-
Might even want to go up more with the pilot too.
-
Sounds so simple right? Stand up. Now lift your left foot up and grab it with your left hand and hold it up. Now just do the same thing with your right foot and you'll be floating. Sounds simple right? Kinda like thinking nitro is simple.

For a trail bike....keep the rears. Those rear tires can throw mud and water up and forward. You could end up with a pretty wet back. LOL
-
Your lean. Try 320 or greater and work your way down.
-
Because front fenders don't actually keep any more mud off of you than running race cut fronts. With that tidbit of info in mind, you then make choice to cut them giving you a great view of your front tires and the terrian ahead. This lets you see just what your about to hit and when. Also despite tge fenders inability to really keep you clean.....they DO a nice job of collecting mud that wouldn't have hit you. So when your done riding, you can spend all tgat extra time cleaning poubfs of mudd off the underside oh those dumbo ears. They also are hella wind socks that act like parachutes. I run full fenders on the rear on my dirt machine and cut rears on my dune bike. But both have cut fronts.

For what you want....get the 4's. Do a search. We have a gazillion page post about the 4's. Dyno testing was done be me and others. It's a no brainer by now. -
how often do you get to ride a week?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to JasonsBanshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
BIG FULL WEEKEND RIDES at premo ride areas at least once a month spring thru fall. With day rides every other weekend locally with friends or my kids.
