Im very suprised there are site sponsors here!
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to Mustang_Gay81's topic in Roostin' Room
We dyno'd a Blaster about a month ago that was actually build by Ken. The owner was told it made 38HP. We had a baseline of a simple blaster motor with a rebuild, reeds and pipes that had made 21HP. The KOC motor had a stroker crank, full port job, reeds and pipes and hit a whole 22 HP. I would consider a ONE HP increase with a stroker crank and full port job a complete fail. -
Put down the DirtWheels. Do some reading here. MUCH BETTER COMPANIES are available.

Slides backwards causing jetting change?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to ETR174's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Listening is a skill. You fought it for quite a while......but maybe you're developing an appreciation for listening at this point. You're no listening Jedi........but at least some of the knowledge that people have been beating you over the head with is getting thru. LOL -
Slides backwards causing jetting change?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to ETR174's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I don't know why you keep asking these jetting questions. You were previously running very small jetting and were quite sure it was perfect. (Your slides were in backwards but you were damn proud of everything) You were running jets smaller than your Dad's 200's now you are running 280's.... Why aren't you still running the lean jets you were so proud of? You didn't have problems starting your bike with your old jetting. I think you should go back to that old jetting. I don't know why you are messing with jetting. After all, your bike survived an entire weekend of dune riding with your old jetting. -

Slides backwards causing jetting change?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to ETR174's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
^^^ We knew all of this. We have been telling you thru 3 posts that there were more issues than YOU were perceiving. Privately you were looking for the power you heard about. Yet you kept telling us how good it ran and that your jetting was fine. Rode it for a weekend at the dunes and were validated it didn't blow up. But it ran like a wet turd the whole time and only NOW are you realizing.......well maybe tomorrow when you try some REAL jetting. -
Banshee clutch slipping.. Need a better one?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to austin123sharon's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Common. The heavy springs push all the oil out from between the plates. You pull in the lever, but the clutch pack stays locked together. Work clutch a bit, or do a hard rev before dropping it into first with clutch pulled in. -

Out of frustration.... And because those are the jets you can find..... AFTER we badger you to death about it...... If it wasn't for your slide issue......would you eve n be listening right now?...... -
Slides backwards causing jetting change?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to ETR174's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Remember what I said about jetting being relevent to the individual. That guy 2 towns over might have a bike that runs......you might think copying him makes jetting a no brainer.....but YOUR PERSONAL ASSESSMENT that your bike was running fine was a piss poor interpretation. Obviously you didn't know what good was. Your neighbor buddy might have a bike that runs ok......... but continue to ignore people trying to help you be smarter than the average Banshee owner. Ever heard that phrase " Ignorance is bliss"?....... Your level of BLISS is boardering on a BLISTER. -
All gluttons for punishment. LOL

Who has time to wrench on Banshees AND Volkswagens???
-
He's got a sheet of cardboard with a bath towel laid over the washer and drier. He's standing on 3 weeks of dirty clothes. It's lit with a single pull chain 60 watt bulb. Carried all the parts down flights of stairs to the basement. Washing parts with simple green because everything else stinks up the house. Using tools he rented from NAPA.......

LMAO I just looked at your slide post....classic. So be sure to tell your UncleDaddy that HIS slides are in backwards too since you kept saying his jetting was the same as yours. Also keep in mind "Runs Fine" is a relevant term. I've heard too many people with bikes that take 20 kicks to fire, tell me the bike runs fine and really rips. Just because it starts and didn't blow up after riding it.......doesn't mean it's not a hot mess from the grips to the tailpipes. Congrats on earning your yellow belt in the Banshee learning curve.

But it's still a Honda. Last time you brought that bike it wouldn't even run in the presence of so many stout Yamahas. LOL -
The spring in this picture is closer to the size of the shift drum. Clearly not a spring for fitting in shift fork shafts. There are no springs that shape or size inon or around a Banshee motor. You got oddball parts laying on your bench. (Some of those weedwacker/string trimmers have dual springs in the head) Maybe it's time to reach out to lawn maintenance website to check that string trimmer assembly. LOL

If you think an unported cheetah making only 95-97 HP isn't "broken".....then I don't know what to tell you. (Don't care if you happy with it then. You were blissfully unaware how weak it was for it's size.) If he ported it....and all you did was assemble it...he's more responsible for any improvements than you. So CAMATV says you gotta start with a bare cylinder to be able to "fix" a cheetah or get them "set up right". You did not start with a cylinder that wasn't already machined.. So if your 535 was making 95HP and since then it got ported.....is it "fixed" or just ported? Is it "set up by somebody who really knows how to set them up right"? If so.......who would you say that was? Tim Bonds domes.....Mat Shearer's porting.....or your torque wrench?
-
Ummmm YOUR motor sucked and YOU couldn't fix it. LMFAO I was telling you a good year before you even knew your HP that you were only making @95. (With a 535!) If I'm so clueless. ...how did I know your motors power level before you? Your even still running the Tim Bond domes I told you to get. And Mailman's 7 mill in on gas. Thanks for playing.
-
Takes 3 cylinders to get a Cheetah to be impressive. LOL ......(also with no powervalves.) Same guy who just fixed 10milmike's cheetah.....is now making same power with Mailman's 7 mill Cub...... Yes. I'm a Cheetah hating basher. Feel free to ignore my comments and carry on as you were. I'm only posting those facts for my entertainment. Please don't let it cut into your fun.

^ x2 This is really hard info to find! Clymer's hardly even mentions it! I have a factory Yamaha mechanics service manual from 1996. The safety system is on all the bikes in the post round plug stator era. (Bikes with round style plugs at the stator have no safety system. ) That is why it is so hard to find stators for sale with round plugs. Most stator manufacturers have stopped production of them due to liability issues. Should there be a motor problem it's not worth the lawsuits.

Ok.......well enjoy the camping. Think about it over the weekend and get back to use with some lumen readings next week.
