So......I had 90 replies back and forth with MattG. Plus some very late night chatter in the shoutbox. I offered to buy tools he would need and include them with the motor parts. I told him I would coach him thru the assembly. The more he said in the shoutbox the more I realized how little experience he really had. I knew I had my hands full in the amount of long distance effort helping him would require. For the record: I sent PM's to Deadbeat and Dirtydownunder because MattG was starting to look like a troll account. The main concern I had was MY reputation. I knew full well how unbelievably reliable that 370 long rod motor had been. I knew it would give him years of impressive performance as it did for me. I also knew that for the money, it would be a way better thing than paying the dealer for that high dollar stock rebuild. But in the end.....my real concern was how I would be seen if the motor (in the hands of an inexperienced NOOB) blew up and MattG put me on blast. I reached out for feedback from those 2 members as a record of my worries. I did tell Deadbeat that if I sold MattG that combo I would get top dollar.....but I was also making the huge effort of shipping something to the other side of the globe and taking on the responsibility of playing coach and mentor to a guy with virtually ZERO mechanical experience and well as risking that if it all went bad it would reflect negatively on me. I WAS THE ONE telling him to set up a PayPal account to protect both of us in the transaction. I even did the legwork on researching the shipping costs. So.........at this point I fell like I offered him WAY more help than ANY other member here ever will. Judge me on my true actions, not behind the scenes rumors from haters. I don't know who said what....but I know what I said....I did nothing but offer real help from the moment of his first post.

Screen shot that PM smart guy.

Young....stupid.....has to borrow his brother's laptop and email. I mean seriously? 2014 and this dude has no email? I'm an old fart but even I was stunned at the lack of technology he uses. What young person has no email or PayPal?

MattG's life is a hot mess. He blows up his Banshee during his first ride. Then his 4 stroke goes down. He wins big money in some rugby pool, then pisses it all away in a matter of weeks. Then tries to get a bank loan to buy a Banshee motor and they tell him he still ows 10-14 grand. So this dude pissed away money he could have used to pay off a loan. Pissed away money to build a banshee. (Even though in his early posts he was floating a budget of $4000) Within a week he's broke and trying to borrow money....... Who was willing to coach him?....Me I'm "Windy" enough. LOL But his fate was sealed as soon as he bought into Tyler's BS. How much help did Tyler give you? 90 replies back and forth?........Didn't think so. Did you box up your steaming pile of Banshee and ship it off to Redline? Why not?....Tyler TOLD YOU TOO!

Obviously you don't understand how PayPal even works. I'm ranked in the top 50 for overall posts.... I'm usually ranked in the top 5 for most liked posts.... You were a new member in New Zealand who in your mid twenties didn't have your own email or PayPal and you think I was the risk. FFS Why would I PM somebody and tell them I'm going to screw you? I DID PM dirtydownunder because I was worried about doing business with YOU.

October 4th Fall HQ ride BADLANDS Indiana
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to WINDYCITYJOHN400's topic in Riding and Events Forum
Sorry guys. Came down sick. Really hate to miss this. The weather is going to be nice, cool and crisp. Perfect for riding. Hate to leave ya hangin Frank. But watch for Rollin Rhino (Stan) he needs a ride buddy. -
That motor was very strong and ran trouble free for years. That was my 370 long rod motor and it was hella reliable. Perfect fit for him since I had years of experience with it and could keep it in perfect tune with an airscrew adjustment. I could hand it to him and he would have had the whole playbook on jetting. You have never heard me say anything negative about that motor. As a matter of fact, it was able to run with some unported 421 cub motors. Since MattG doesn't know a torque wrench from a broom stick, he could have used an adviser to coach him into having a clue. But......he has you now. LMFAO

Nobody made a bigger effort to educate your ass when you blew up your motor than me. I was willing to gather together and ship tools and manuals and coach you thru everthing. YOU didn't have an email or paypal account. I encouraged you to get a paypal account to protect BOTH of us during a transaction. Why would I not ship anything? The vindictive shady guy was Tyler PMing you and telling you not to deal with me. Told you to ship your motor from New Zealand to Redline. WOW how helpful......

Same comments from the same people. Harry tuned and shipped tge 472 Cheetah. Sent me the sheets saying 93. But it was only a short hiccup of power before it was back in the mid 70's. So....all the happy Cheetah PV people should also remember tgat fir about 2-3 years, 10millmike was telling me how bad ass his 10 mill cheetah was. I was solidly predicting LESS THAN 99 HP. He would insist his was fast and tell me just because I had a bad experience, doesn't mean all cheetahs are junk. BUT.....he finally hit a dyno and found out what I knew all along. 97 HP!!! Then he got the whole thing redone and made...114 with Q16? He went right back to telling me how strong his shit is. Well that same builder made....112 with a 7 mill cub on 110. I was never swinging from Cams nuts. I spoke well of him him the first year even though the motor only made 97HP. Once I realized that the issue was the motor itself, I fell quiet and stopped recommending him. I just moved on. (Hell, he's still listed in my signature!) So......lets recap. Harry builds and dynos a 472 cheetah and gets 93HP...... (For those that can't process facts on their own, that CAN'T = A tuning problem on my part) Cameron builds a 10 mill cub and on 5 different dynos with 3 differnt tuners it's best was 97 HP. But keep on thinking I'm the problem if it makes you feel better. I'm not even saying anyone else's stuff is bad. Just saying mine clearly was. Plus unlike most, I have a dyno as a measuring stick so I KNOW what I have and don't have. As some have posted, my stuff ran strong even with only 97 HP. But none of tgat fits the mold that I'm being shoved into.......
-
Yes. I always have given the benefit of the doubt to the big name with a reputation. But unlike most, I also don't assume the masses are right. I was told a 400 Cheetah kit was going to make 105 HP......Then told 115HP......then Harry built a 472 and it made 93. (Well actually it made more than 78HP for a whole 500 RPM) But as usual, people get so fired up about trying to prove me wrong that the facts get pushed away. My motors have been on a variety of dynos from the Driveline Performance dyno to Mat Shearers. I state that my Redline motor was on 5 different dynos and had 3 different people trying for the best tune and in the end were all within one tenth of a HP at 97. But you all wanna blame my tune?OK. My new motor makes 130+/70+. The builder exceeded his promise. (That's still using in-frames) I make OVER 100 HP for more than 3000RPM! I make OVER 60 TQ for more than 3000 RPM! THAT is a strong curve. Even with 2 degrees backed out and the PJ's wide open it's still at 129/69 so......the tune is fine. Now it's about chassis. As for Harry......see he landed on his feet like all cats.

Well none of us are perfect. I got seriously fucked by Trinity/Harry. So if you think it's in poor taste for me to gloat at him selling his business......embrace the concept that I'm NOT extending any pity towards my rapist. I was rooting for his business practices to bite him in the ass. Back in 2008 I gave him a detailed blueprint of the quality control issues he needed to change to fix the issues he was passing on to unsuspecting customers. But I guess making a change to his dome shape to eliminate a convergent squish design was too challenging. So....for the record, I spoon fed him the fedback and solutions to solve his issues. I'm a small business owner as well. So I spent a good hour on the phone providing him with valuable feedback on how my experience went as well as giving him an un-sugar coated report of how he was being seen in the industry. I wanted him to have a better idea at what the after sale issues were. I spent time efforting to help. But he continued with business as usual. So.....first educate yourself. He had multiple CNC machines. The sale of those will leave him a nice sum of cash. He sold one of the largest names in the industry. That was not done for peanuts. I rooted for his downfall and am gloating at it's arrival. But the reality is, he will be like a CEO leaving a failing company. He will get all the remaining cash and benefit from the sale of everything. He will move on to his next venture and blame the downfall of Trinity on the economy and the growth of the 4-stroke industry. In the end he will be fine. If Trinity racing is the only place he would have been able to support his family......than he's not much of a provider. I could enter any number of industries and bring home the bacon. Harry has just come to a fork in the road. I'm just thankful I will no longer be seeing his victims broke down on the side of the roads I frequent, with no money left in their pockets, no real power in the frame and no answers from the builder other than "check your jetting". This has been a long time coming and he earned it.

Some people have a history with them.... I'll watch for your kind words should Rattle can Ray ever fold up shop. Harry isn't dead and Trinity racing isn't gone. When teams trade or cut under performing players, some fans are happy to see the change. Trinity racing got a new head coach. So what? He got a severance package (in the form of a buyout price) that I'm sure amounted to quite a bit. Let's not paint it as a homeless man now unable to provide for his family.
-
Take yourself less seriously. #1 - He dug the hole on his own. #2 - He SOLD the company and I'm sure he got plenty for it. He win be fine. He will land on his feet. He can always be a vacum cleaner salesman. Nobody knows more about machines that suck than that guy.

Motor City Atv STEALTH HEAD
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to Rage_kage's topic in General Banshee Discussion
That Driveline Stealth head is sweet. Domes snap in nice and tight. No more messing with multi-piece heads with endless numbers of little stud o-rings. -
ALL the YFZ shocks work. (When installed on a YFZ) The best ones are on the 09' and newer. (Because the 09' and newer YFZR's are the best) But you own a Banshee. Using YFZ shocks is stupid and ghetto. (So is data mining ancient threads)

When I knew Harry's CNC machines were busy making non-Trinity items.....I knew the handwriting was on the wall. When you need to lease out your machines to other industries to make ends meet......you know your business has fallen from grace. Glad to hear it either way. By Harry.

Chill boys. It's been a busy couple of weeks. Fall hit early and I'm SLAMMED with heating work here. I haven't packed a thing and 2 out of 3 bikes are far from ready. But it wouldn't be a trip if it didn't involve wrenching on something the night before leaving. LOL 4 of us are coming and looking forward to checking this place out. Looks like I'll be bringing my 4 mill and 450R. Taking most of the day off today to prep bikes and get a pile of gear ready. Buddy with enclosed trailer will be here late Tuesday and we will be on the road early Wed. Should be there around 8-9 Wed night. I'll try to bring some Wind to smooth things out.

Spark Arrestor attachments for PowerCore 2's?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to ETR174's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Old School pipes! Good pipes. They will work with Turbine Cores. -
Spark Arrestor attachments for PowerCore 2's?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to ETR174's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Yeah the silencers are packeged and sold separate. So it's possible to buy FMF FATTY head pipes and Power Core or Turbine Core silencers. If you already have FMF FATTY head pipes....then just buy the Turbine Core silencers for them. -
Spark Arrestor attachments for PowerCore 2's?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to ETR174's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Buy Turbine core silencers. They aren't much more than buying just spark arrestors. And they don't effect your power. You might as well since you will also need them for any state trails too. -
What fuel should I be running in my engine?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to 91coupemike's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
100LL has a motor octane of 106. You might have needed more compression. If your Cub ran on 93......it probably wasn't making enough heat with the higher octane for the dome/pipe combo.
