  1. Hey thanks a lot for the replies, I was thinking about a port job pretty hard and I decided thats what iM gonna do. Since Im already ordering from FAST racing I was strongly thinking about getting the play/dune port job from them.. Now my new questions: Do I ship the whole motor or what? How much does this cost? I have 280 main jets now like toomey called for, will I need bigger mains and have to rejet? I know I dont know very much about the banshee's or even modding in general thats why I ask these seemingly dumb questions right now, so thanks for the patience and replies, I spend a good couple hours most every day just reading on here

  3. yea thanks alot, i already used the search engine for hours and didnt find the simple answers to the question i asked. it was all more about them breaking and comparing them to other reed cages. i never installed or used them before, so thanks
  4. Do they make enough of a difference to be worth $230? Is it a big jetting change too? I just have t5's right now thats only mod
  5. So let me get this right because I plan on doing this: first off, does this site have the right paint I need? http://www.net4sale.com/Shop/pc/viewPrd.as...p;idproduct=122 I wonder waht the black metallic would look like? Ok, so I get a light disc sander and brush and take the pipes to the sheet metal, then primer them let dry, then paint on the color and let dry, then do the idling technique to bake in? is that it? how long does this take about?
  6. dont mind the pipes, even though they are pretty fucking new, im gonna paint them, the way they look is why i didnt get chrome lol
  7. thanks for the replies. I am all kinds of trails, sometimes gas well roads or power lines so there is plenty of time to get full throttle, thats pretty much how I ride anyway, and once I burn up this stock clutch I plan on getting a nicer aftermarket one. i have rode nice bikes with suspension and its a huge difference thats why i was wondering, however i havent rode a ported and polished bike before... but they sound great. I dont really care about the low end power so much in a way because I knew I wasnt gona have too much buying a banshee anyway
  8. I ride trails, and hillclimb, not many jumps around here and i dont do motocross, so my question to you guys is would you spend the money on the motor or go with suspension? right now I just have t5's with a twin air air filter system. still have TORS on and every thing so its pretty damn near stock... I thought the suspension would be a good investment, but after hearing all this talk about how much porting and polishing helps im kinda torn... its an '04 and was barely rode until I got it in august
  9. I just got some graphics from verde powersports, i think they look pretty cool anyway, My question is are most graphic kits sorta cut sloppy? it is my first one and i just figured they d be cut perfect, they arent bad, but def not perfect. just wondering....
  10. I just did mine a couple days ago. didnt get a chance to sand the rough out but they still turned out goodl
  11. YAYTV < LOL 4 wheeler parts land nuts, bolts, and banshee's Gas 'Em Up Top it off Screw Brakes Emporium
  12. riding with ignorant pricks that are very familiar with their riding terrain and try to make you look like a pussy for not being quite ready to mash your bike on a huge fucking hill. i would never try to convince someone to hit a dangerous hill or jump. and i hate how people just expect all banshees to be super fucking fast. i only have pipes on mine and ppl somehow act amazed when a piped 700 raptor wins in a DIRT drag race. drag racing is stupid for me cause its stock and i ride trails. lol, i feel like i just vented some hostility
  13. just stock and changed the jets according to toomey's set up thats all the mods ive done. and only 5 air vents and no snorkel on the airbox lid
  14. anyone?
  15. ok, so today i went for a short ride. toward the end it started sputtering like it wasnt getting any gas or something and the throttle wouldnt do anything. eventually it putted out. I also noticed the throttle sticking just a tad at certain times toward the end. i stopped it checked my gas and put it on reserve. it started and ran fine for a little bit then did the same thing again. it has run completely fine since i installed the t5's but today it was really weird. the only thing i did was switch my oil from yamalube to castor 927. i havent even run a full tank of castor yet. any ideas?
  16. another dumb question; i went riding over the weekend last weekend and wanted to make sure i had a full tank of gas for the ride. so when i got to my friends house he had some gas and i used about 3/4 gallon to top off. he runs 20:1 and i run 32:1. I figured it would just smoke a little more. Now it seems like it has bad throttle response until it hits powerband, do you guys think its just becaue of that little bit of 20:1 gas? i havent altered anything since the install of the pipes and the air filter is clean, with 5 vents in airbox lid. also, both gas was 92 octane thanks and sorry for ridiculous questions
  17. just wanted to say thanks to this site and all its members for all the usefull info. I had a completely successful installation of the exhaust and its great. still a little boggy of 0 - 1/4. think that would be pilot screw? its just a tad bit noticeable. anyway, thank you guys so much for all the help. very cool. brad
  18. could someone please post pics (if they have any) of how they installed their air box vents on the air box? it would help me out greatly, cause im trying to do a lot of engine work and stuff in my head. i know that sounds dumb, but still... thanks
  19. ok, so would you say its safe to take carbs off and install 280's and put clip on 3rd position right off the bat? i mean just skip throwing the pipes on with stock jetting?
  20. ok, thanks. i just found that elevation finder site (talk about cool) i am at 1460 above sea level. would that be about the same as you?
  21. also, if its not a problem, can anyone tell me where they would start the jetting process? i live in central pa, not sure of exact elevation here.
  22. do you have to completely reassemble the bike to test run it? or can you just put the airbox back on? i havent even come close to starting yet. just curious.
  23. thanks, manual has been ordered. ive ever only ridden and beaten machines, this one i want to take care of i grew up on blasters then had to sell them because of parenthood but now im back in business, i have rode every sport atv's, some with mods and i have to say the banshee fits my riding style more than any of them exept maybe the 250r. anyways, i love this site and will surely have more questions in the future thank you
