DG pipes and silencers are they good?
TeamRealtreeHD replied to 907banshee's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
There are much better out there for sure. The thing about pipes are that every pipe will deliver power at different ranges. Paul Turners, Pro Circuits and FMF's (most of them) will deliver down low and mid range. That is really good if you like to trail ride. CPI's, Shearers, etc. will be more favored towards the top end. Cpi's hit a little earlier than Sheaers. They are both primarily top end pipes, which is why they are favored by most drag racers and serious duners. My trinitys are a drag capable pipe. Have great top end, just the pull you would get from an all out top end pipe. They have a good miderange and pull very hard into the top. Toomey T5's are very similar as well. In my case, this is what I need. I was thinking about switching but I didn't and don't plan to. I need a little midrange to get started on these hills around here before I lay down the wood (top end). So this is good for me. You need to think about what you want them to do, they choose a pipe from there. Same thing with porting. -
Pipes, K&N (or any good ait filter), adjustable timing advance plate, cool head with domes, and a port job in that order... with a pipes and porting being the most expensive

That is really funny. Hey man atleast you leanred what you like and what you need on the bike. Sometimes it takes shit like this to realize those needs. I know many a guys around here that need a floorboard/heelguard or nerfs because they have their feet come off all the time. Me on the other hand, I don't have that problem. Not even on the my 250r or quadracer.

They are great carbs for sure. You shouldn't have a single problem. Good luck
-
Oh man, that is perfect for us drunks lol I never saw anything like that. Probably has several different junctions at the tap to send the beer into more hoses and stuff. But I am just guessing. I am interested to see this thing.

Oh Ok. I was a little confused. Yes, this will make life alot easier with those slides. I really don't know why Keihin/Sudco put those shitty tops on there. It is kind of like banshees with their stock Head Pipes. SO RESTRICTIVE!!! You can ride it, no doubt, with those brass ones. But obviously it won't open that extra 1/8th of the way. And like I said before... don't forget to look into the easy carb springs he sells as well. The thumb will feel like a single carbed bike throttle with the new ones. When you get those new adjusters, just sit and play with both carbs. I know you put time on the wrench before so you are patient enough to do it. Just make sure both open up all the way. Not hard at all. You obviously don't want one opening up furthur and/or lower than the other. Once they are good, you are ready to rock! I didn't realize I still had some SOS soap pad soap the blue stuff) on the bottoms of the carbs. I gotta go get that off there tomorrow. It is tough getting them clean, but brillo/sos pads makes cleaning the carbs or anything really dirty/greasy on the bike a synch. I forgot to get the hose under the carbs most likely after cleaning it the other day.

Works for me man... Is the keg setup an interesting sight or what?
-
I am more than happy to help man, no need to thank me. This is sometihng that you really can't visualize. You must see to know the difference. Jeff will have them to you the following day. I think he UPS's his shit. When I fire my bike up, I don't even use a choke. None. At least not in weather above 50-55 degrees. But when you do need a choke, usually only 1 is needed. Both carbs are the same, so the carb on the left has the choke on the left, and so does the one on the right. That means ther one on the right isn't that easy to get to. But I can get to it no problem, just not as easy as the left sticking out right there. Only one is needed though if you need to use it. I haven't needed it yet though. What is wrong with those PWK's you have now? Or are you going to a different size? Just curious

What's the brew of choice?
-
I also noticed my spiders last a long time and they still look new
-
Oh yes... I'll bring some smoked deer lebanon bologna. I just thawed some out, makes a great snack food with cheese and crackers. Let me know if you are definately getting beer. I'll throw in.
-
Here is just one side on my PWK 33's. I held the camera with the hand hand, and held WOT with the right. And a picture of the tops of the carbs with the taller adjusters, with the cables attached.
-
Yes, you need those caps then. Hold on, I will go snap a pic of mine. Gimme 10 minutes
-
Yea, we can do that. Those horses ain't got nothing on us. They'll never catch us. I wish you could, but then again, it's all flat. I'd get sick of it really quick. The thing about the real dunes out west is there are sand hillshoots and jumps and stuff. I would be an absolute idiot in the sand. Most would think I had problems I think.... I would go crazy because I knew if I wrecked it wouldn't hurt nearly as bad as coal. I want to go out there asap.
-
Oh man, beer and horseshoes. Me and John Pauly are definately in for that. mmmmmmmm I need beer now
-
I'll tell you what, Sunday is looking awesome for weather. And if we do get the rain on Saturday/late tomorrow night, it will be even better on Sunday because there won't be any dust.
-
Alright well if you guys go out, I will too then, as long as it isn't raining. If it is, I'll be in the garage with a few buddies and some beer working on the banshees.

Hey, no problem man. Yes, those brass ones are tough to get to go WOT. I don't think it is possible. The longer silver ones that are next to the gold ones on that site picture are the ones you want. They screw right into the carb black cap, just like the stock keihin adjuster. They are extremely easy to adjust, and synchronize too. They work very well with any cable as well. I use motion pro cables, but I know a guy who just got them that uses other aftermarket cables with great success as well with these new taller adjusters. Definately the way to go. For the price for the two new adjusters, it is a good investment Not to mention Jeff will have them on your doorstep the next day. I am halfway across the country and they were here in less than 24 hrs from the time I got off the phone with him.

Try and make the day as long as possible... they go too fast the way it is. I am going over the track tomorrow to get some fuel. VP C15 is only 7.50 a gallon. Get 2.5 gallon of that and mix it with 93 Sunoco pump. Plus the VP C15 has 1 more motor octane point than the 116 Sunoco Maximal I was mixing with before. I am pumped man. I am going to try my damn hardest not to ridethe bike until Sunday. It is looking way to nice, and I want to keep it that way for the big day.

Go a different route -
Hey, not a problem. Just let me know when you find out. I will be on here to check. You'll have a blast. This is some cool shit down this way. Definately worth the 3 hour trip. And if anyone else is interested in coming along, let us know.
-
You are way more than welcome to come and ride on Sunday with us. Everyone we ride with would love to have another banshee and fellow rider join in. If you need directions, mapquest Kulpmont, Pa. And if you are coming, you are welcome to park at my place, or somewhere I know of close by.
-
Yes, well worth the change to buy them. Well well worth it! Those springs as well. If your throttle is rough, get them. Out performs a cut stock spring from Keihin by a long shot. Both those items are top notch
-
Damn fucking right... we are going for sure. No doubt about it. Road trip with the sexy ladies

Why so late? Let's shoot for like 10:00.
