  1. OK. I got on toomy's web site and found a clutch adjustment article. I turned the clutch cable all the way in loosened the screw in the middle of the pressure plate nut. Aligned the arrows and tightened the screw. I pulled the clutch in and the fucking lever with the arrow on it bent due to pressure. WTF? I'm lost.
  2. Anybody? I really need some help guys. I took the pressure plate back off, turned the cable all the way into the levr housing on the clutch lever so the two arrows lined up, put pressure plate back on and still nothing. Now it is to loose. If i turn the cable adjustment back out, I can not pull it back.
  3. I put a new tusk clutch in and am following some of the other posts I have read about adjusting the clutch and am having some problems. I put the fibers and plates on (using 12, 3 ,6 etc pattern on plates) put pressure plate on torqued bolts to 7.5 ft lbs. before I did any adjustments to the clutch I tried to pull the lever in and it hardly moves. The pressure plate is not moving at all. The arrows on the clutch at the motor are about 1/2" apart (lever is more toward the right side not the stator side. I do not have time to get a manual(going out of town to ride thursday) Any help would be great. If you could point me to a post that covers this in depth that wound be good also. I searched the first 10 under clutch adjustments and could not find much specific to my problem.
  4. I was just looking at the pressure plate. it seems like it is not a perfect circle. Running my finger around the edge I can feel humps in it. Is this normal? are they not cast perfect?
  5. I just rebuilt my engine about 3 weeks ago and just got my bike out to test it. It seems that the clutch is slipping at high rpm. I looked through a lot of old posts on this and tried a few things. I miced the plates, they are .125". I think this is good. The basket seems good, no grooves, and the pressure plate seems ok. The oil I drained was still red, no white color to it. Any idea. I found an old post that someone thought their clutch was slipping and their tires were slipping on the rims. It just seems weird that everything was good before the rebuild. Any ideas.
  6. pm sent. I could use them both if u still have them.
  7. I just got my bike put back together, changed all fluids and took it out for a spin. The engine runs great, but when I hit the throttle hard the engine rpms go up but it does not seem to accelerate like it should. It is almost like the tires are spining but there not. I added a little more gear case oil and it did not help. It was fine before the rebuild so I cant figure it out. The rebuild was a 80 over bore new gaskets, wiseco pro lites, and thats it. Is my clutch shot? I only had 80 psi of cylinder pressure before the rebuild, could the added power just enhance a bad clutch? I also used to run race gas and now am running 93. I cant think that would matter.
  8. I am almost done assembling my top end rebuild and have come across something i do not remember taking apart. There is a black maybe 1/4 " rubber tube that comes out of the top of the right side case and goes to a "T" where 2 more tubes come out. One goes down by the swing arm pivot and looks to go into the engine case and the other does not go to anything. I cane not remember where it goes. Is it just an overflow? I do not want to run the bike until I know for sure.
  9. I am not trying to be a dick either bro. But I also do not like being called a lier! I tried the search once before the post and once after eman's response and got nothing. It said there were no matches to "namura". I just tried it again and got a bunch of posts. The last being 4 months ago! I am sure some guys have tried them since the last post and not responded on the performance in those threads. So I asked a question and wanted some new feedback.. If you have not tried them dont even look at the post! There could be ten guys that did not respond to the post in december that could give me some feedback. I respect everyones feedback, but I would like it to reflect my question not telling me to do a search. Any post anyone has, has been covered a million times on here for that matter, that does not mean there has not been some guys that have some new feedback since that post. THANKS
  10. Well I did search Namura before the post and got nothing. Maybe you can point me to a post that covers Namura pistons! Thanks.

  12. Thats how I do it. Works good, dont take a finger off though
  13. I am getting bored out to .080 and need to get a new top end kit. I found a namura kit (everything) for $140. Are these good pistons. If no, what is a good set. This is the first bore since I got the bike so I need a little help.
  14. Ok that all makes sense now looking at them. I never noticed the heims were adjustable. It looks like the guy who owned it before never set it up right. Thanks for the help.
  15. I am sure I will hurt myself. I have been stuck inside the entire winter, when I get to ride soon I will probably kill myself trying to make up for lost riding time. These F#@KING machines are addicting! Thanks for the help.
  16. There is about 1" inside. They are 3/4" ball joints I think, so there is more inside than the width. Why would this be like this?
  17. I picked up this banshee about a year ago for $500 bucks. It runs great (Aside from the fact I have the top end apart for boring and porting). It has aftermarket a arms (I think lonestar but they do not say anything on them) and a set of works dual rates with remote res. My question is, are these ball joints turned out too far. I was told that as long as there is as much thread in the a arm as the ball joint is wide (threaded part) I am ok. I have been looking at other shees on the site and do not see any that look like this. The wheels are almost straight up and down maybe even turned in a little so I realy can not turn them in anymore and the bottoms are all the way in. Whats up? http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii176/m...20080331_06.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii176/m...20080331_05.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii176/m...20080331_04.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii176/m...20080331_03.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii176/m...20080331_02.jpg
  18. What (compond, etc.) and how did you polish the parts? Just curious, I have got my bike apart right now waiting to get my cyclinders back and might do a little myself.
  19. Pictures are a little blury but I think you can get the idea.
  20. It says my pictures are to large. How do I resize them?
  21. pictures did not come up I will try again.
  22. This is my first banshee so I do not have any idea what stock porting looks like. Are these ported, and if so what type of porting does it look like. (mild, drag etc.)
