The funniest is when I go to get gas at 11:00 pm the night before I go riding. The few people at the airfield then REALLY start mean mugging me, but still, no one says a word. Damn near easier to get gas there than at a real gas station. I have the timing set at +4 and am using B9ES plugs. I was getting detonation using the B8ES plugs and they were backing out. The B9's run a little cooler and haven't had a problem since.

I have been running 100LL in my bike since I put the 4mil stroker in it (3 years ago). I have 190 lbs of compression and have never had any issues with the fuel. Plus the airport by my house lets me buy fuel 24 hours a day ($4.29 a gallon right now) and I never get hassled by anyone. I get weird looks from people, walking up to the pump station in the middle of the airfield with 3 gas cans when you are surrounded by planes waiting to refuel, but nobody says anything.

I called the wife and had her take a look at it. She said that it is a West Coast Choppers Jesse James Banshee. Here is a thread that I found that talks about it: http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...p;mode=threaded

I'll look at it tonight when i get home and find out who makes it.

My neighbor had a garage sale and it was left over. They didn't have the controller, but for $2.00 who the hell cares. It's bad ass.
-
It's an R/C that I picked up last night. I saw it and HAD to have it. Looks sick.

Here are some pitures of my new Banshee. Right out of the box, this thing is bad ass. Here is a list of what it has: Holeshot tires with beadlocks Blingstar chrome iron cross front bumper chrome A arms sand cut plastics custom lime green flame paint job big bore out of frame drag pipes huge extended swing arm custom uphostered seat cool head has to be a cub motor (can't really tell) k & N filter pods chrome dogbone on the swinger frame looks like it has been lightened I know that the handlebars are a little tweaked, but I can replace them. Haven't had a chance to mess with it yet, but it looks like it is gonna rip ass. Check out the pics below.

Went to Waddell Creek on Saturday for opening weekend. The place was crazy. There had to have been at least a few hundred people there. Apparently they were doing a poker run. My bike is set up for dunes. I have only had it in the dirt once. My buddy has been bugging me to go riding with him, so I said screw it, threw on the dirt tires and loaded the bike up. It rained the entire fucking day. Not at all what I expected. It was a ton of fun, but I was covered from head to toe in a layer of clay. My bike looked like I took a shit on it. It took me three hours today to get it clean again. It was a lot different that riding in the dunes and I haven't been that wet since the last time I went swimming, but it was fun. I would probably ride there again, but not until it dried out.

Just got my shirt on Saturday....KICK ASS!!! Thanks Loco

Here is the last dyno run that I did. Not too bad... I guess. Smokes all my friends' bikes.

What damage can a magnetic drain plug cause? I have heard nothing but good things about them and have had no issues in the year that I have had mine. If it weren't for the magnetic drain plug, I probably would have had to crack the cases to get that piece of the spring out.
-
Just thought that I would let you know that I found all of the pieces. It actually broke into three pieces. One piece I found right away. The second piece I found today snugged up against one of the ribs in the case on the clutch side, the third piece I was able to fish out with a magnet. I looked at the gears as best that I could and couldn't find any damage. I also looked at the three pieces and they fit together perfectly and did not have any knicks in them. Looks like I REALLY lucked out. I was really afraid that I was going to have to crack the cases. Thanks for the help.
-
Yeah. As far as I can tell. It was running perfectly when I shut it down. When I took off the clutch cover, the idle gear and the kicker gear were fine. There was a scratch on the wall of the case where it looks like the spring spun around from the hole that it was supposed to have been in to the passage between the transmission and the clutch. I shined a light into a few of the passages and everything looked good, from what I could see. I know that is not the best way to check for damage, but I really don't want to crack the cases if I don't have to. When I drained the oil, I tried to check it really well and didn't see any metal pieces. I am going to check the oil again and take another look at the transmission just to make sure that I cannot see any damage, but maybe I just got lucky.

I found it! I tipped the bike onto the grab bar and took out the drain plug and it was sitting right there. I tried to grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers and it slipped back into the case. At least now I know where it is. Now I just have to get it out of there. Thanks for the help.

I am missing half of the spring. I snapped right in half. It's about an inch and a half long. It looks like a bent metal coat hanger piece. I have a magnetic drain plug and when I drained the oil, there wasn't any metal at all. I will take another look through the drain hole and the passages from the gearbox and the clutch to make sure that I didn't miss anything.

My kick return spring snapped in half yesterday. I rode all day yesterday with no problems. Got home, unloaded and went to start the Banshee so that I could pull it into the garage and the kickstarter wouldn't engage. I tried about a dozen times and nothing. I could move it by hand and it was completely free, no tension at all. Tore the side case off today and out falls 1/2 of the kick return spring. Can't find the other 1/2. My question.....Is it possible for the other 1/2 to have gone into the bottom end of the motor? I looked all over the clutch side and in the oil and can't find it. There wasn't any metal in the oil, so hopefully it hasn't done too much damage yet. I've never torn the cases apart and don't really want to do it now, if I don't have to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to add Noss to the list of excellent companies to deal with. I blew the o-rings on my head and melted the billett head a few months back. Bought a brand new head from Noss and shee is screaming like a raped ape today. Great price and excellent customer service. Definitely recommend. Thanks, Phil

I would also like to add Props to Jeff at FAST. I blew the o-rings on my head and melted a billet head a few months ago. With the parts that Jeff sent me shee is back in true form today. The prices were great and the service was second to none. Thanks Jeff, Phil

I went to the Yamaha Canada website and they do not have the Banshee listed as a 2009 model. Are they finally done making the Banshee? If so.....RIP

Osama...er, I mean Obama announced yesterday that he would be looking at former military personnel for a potential running mate. Al Gore suggested Colonel Sanders.

I was messing with the head last night and was able to straighten out the lip, so that there is no gap around the dome any more, looks good, but it does not instill confidence and I really don't want to have to rip the top off again anytime soon. I guess that I will just add it to the wall-O-crap.
-
Sweet. I will have to PM him as soon as I get paid. Can't wait to get it back together. Is there anything else that anyone would suggest since I already have it apart and have to replace the fluids?
