I am looking to buy a set of carbs for a 4mil, drag port banshee with CPI inframes. My question is, has anyone tested lets say a 34mm flat slide mikuni to a 33 or 35 pwk keihin? I have noticed alot of people with the keihins. I have ran alot of smaller mikunis (28mm) before on dune bikes and have had great luck. What are the real differences between the two? How do you size the carb, RPM, CC's of the engine, how radical of port duration? Can some one point me in the right direction? Also, I have already searched this, and pretty much everything I have seen so far is- Put this carb on there because this guy said so. Thank you

4 mill stroker , long rod or short?
505chevelle replied to twostrokemechanic's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
So did you try to run it before selling the jugs, or did you sell them because everyone says jugs ported for stock stroke won't work? Finished a bike last year that has jugs ported for stock stroke, guy didn't have the money to buy new and have ported again and the bike flys, made 78 hp @ 10,000 little sahara in OK last fall. I know dyno numbers are just numbers but, the bike really runs great. Had Jeff do a duneable overide tranny and the bike will out run a few of the cub motors that go out to little sahara in OK. Just sayn you might measure the port work before you just go from "word of mouth" and sell a set of ported jugs. -
thanks man, thats what I will do. Anyone got some stock porting jugs, don't really care if they need to be bored or not they will get it no matter. and with that being said my jugs are standard bore and would be a great bolt on for someone that dosen't want to spend alot.

Thanks thats what I wanted to know, My port timing is at 196 right now, can anyone tell me about how much it changes with the stroker crank? Thanks, chris

I have a set of jugs on my stock stroke engine that have a good drag/dune port. My question is how exactly will it effect the power range that my bike has now if I go to the 4 mil stroke 5 mil long rod crank. do I need to use a spacer under the jugs for anything other then piston to head clearance because I can cut domes for that. My main concern is port timing and how different it would be. Thanks, Chris

Thanks guys for the info, Still thinkin on doing the cub motor, but would need to do some tranny work right, thinkin that dunable overide. you can still use it as an normal tranny as far as down shifting, is that right? would like some one to explain that very well, as do's and don't with the dunable overide. got a quote for f.a.s.t and really thinkin about going that route, thanks chris

How much for the water pump impeller? send me a PM -
would like to end up with 65-75 hp and not have an all out drag bike that I can't take in the trails and on a mx track, maybe that clears up "ridable". What would an as cast port 421 cub make power wise with good carbs, v-force 3 on race fuel?
-
mine runs fine, I don't want an all out drag bike.
-
want to buy it? I have a 4mil stroke 5mil long rod crank sitting here, should I port my jugs or buy cub 421? want a cub but want it to be ridable.
-
I can get him on asphalt and the bike really runs decent but that wasn't the ? on the pipes. so......

I've got a bike with CPI in frames, stock carbs tors removed, boysen rad-valve, cool head with 18cc domes, timing at +6 and NO porting. I'm about 165 lbs. Should I use the +6 swingarm that I already have or stay with stock? and what tires with what swing arm? want to kick the shit out of this 700 raptor with cams and bunch of other stuff. for sand drag , thanks
-
I have a steel 1"X2" rectangle tube +6 swingarm for stock rear carrier that is gloss black. Would like to trade for a +4 that is equivalent. Can get pics If anyone is interested. great condition never bolted on. also would sell for $170 shipped. I take paypal.
