  1. yes. about 10-15 kicks. Most of them was with one spark plug boot on. I told myself not to forget that.....and here we are. Going run to the store and get some distilled water(i already have a bottle of water wetter). I'm not using 50/50 just yet just in case.
  2. Never said I did. I'm asking these questions to best preserve it. Like I said, I'm ordering the sleeves tonight. I wish it had velcro so I didn't have to disassemble the pipes to remove them.
  3. Oh OK. That sucks. So I take it the chrome will rust under the wrap from moisture?
  4. It should only oxidize a little if any being aluminum. Plus any wrap will keep moisture in. I'm going to order some sleeves though. Another local shop does ceramic powder coating but i havent heard any proof there's keeps heat in locally.
  5. here's my first attempt. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/raguncajun/DSC02095_zpsuutwxsjo.jpg I was told to wet it first. So im going to redo it soon. It's a 50' roll so i've got a lot extra. off topic but i need to find a sleeve to fit fuel tubing. I dont like how close my left pipe passes close to the left fuel line from the pet cock to the left carb. I think ill order the stuff like white braead has and do my stingers too. Much cleaner. Time to search for some 1 3/16 id stuff for big bores. edit* i think the 1 1/4 id will work for me fine 7569K14
  6. Does my color look the same? I assume the color will vary from coater to coater. My guy said this is the first thing he sprayed this color besides patio furniture.
  7. I will redo the wrap. I don't like how uneven it is. I want to install my Cascade innovations exhaust clamps too. Thank you. The powder coat color is oil rubbed bronze. And quoting an entire big post like that makes it harder for mobile users. Same reason I don't use image takes usually when posting picture. I also will install my Cascade seat cover tomorrow too. I also forgot to mention the next thing to order brembo rear caliper.
  8. Oil rubbed bronze. I talked to redline about this last week while ordering stuff. I'm sticking with my shearers. I also didnt know they made big bore inframe snipers 2-3 years ago went i had this engine built/dynoed. I may engine up getting a set late this year or next and sell whatever pipes i dont like. There's a small market for BB inframes though. Id lose a good bit of money. I ordered some different(read as "the correct") orings and the pipes went right on. Evidently i picked up the wrong ones a long time ago. I went with exhaust wrap. Turned out decent enough considering it wont be scene. Here's how it ended today. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/raguncajun/DSC02098_zpsiqsppskk.jpg http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/raguncajun/DSC02099_zpsv7anlshn.jpg http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/raguncajun/DSC02100_zpsgrokwu78.jpg I cant believe i dont have the nut that holds the front sprocket on. No telling where that thing went to. So ill be ordering that this weekend. That's why the stator/flywheel cover is off. I'm still waiting on a front replacement rotor i messed up as well. I have to take off the clutch side cover and adjust the pancake bearing. There's too much tension on the clutch when it's hooked up to the lever on the handle bars. If i remember right, you can back the nut off and turn the screw in the center to let some slack out. It's a cascade pancake bearing or whatever it's called. Once that's done i have to install and hook up the junk looking piece of shit stock thumb throttle i have. I will use the stock one until i can find a Honda thumb throttle off a 250r then get the logo milled off then powder coat everything. I read that's the best. I'm not spending a fortune on the Cuervo racing one. Then ill fire it up hopefully tomorrow around lunch time. I've never heard big bores in person so im looking forward to that most.
  9. They run it for a smaller rear sprocket.
  10. I'd still go with a serval for open roads. Drag porting just sucks unless you drag racing. That's just my opinion. Others differ.
  11. I had to removed my carbs and pad the frame with a rag for my BB shearers. I will say if you have the wrong thickness or/and ID of oring, it will be hell. I fought with one side for hours. two weekends ago. I just got some orings in from redline in the mail. Pipe went strait on. Id try sanding like the other guy said if it's that big of a hassle.
  12. Research on here who does servals with good results. Call the supporting vendor you chose and talk to them about what you want. Youll be better off than ebay.
  13. I didn't know liberty made them. That's who did my input shaft on my truck.
  14. big bores
  15. I bought some exhaust wrap. Im awaiting a metal tie wrap tool to come in to install it on my bike.
  16. Be careful the oring isn't caught. I just ripped 3 of them.
  17. I have a set of new Mod Quad exhaust clamps. Fits 7/8 to 1 3/16 pipes. I tried mounted one and of course wont work with my pipes. Looking to trade for a honda thumb throttle that will open 39's(preferably from a 1985-1989 250r). Billet kick starter. Black ASV lever for a yfz450(front brake of course). Will add money ontop of my stuff depending on what you have. Post pics and what dollar amount you want if you think it's worth more than my clamps.
  18. I went with fireball racing LT arms and elka stage 3 shocks(now called legacy). That's around $600-650 for a-arms and $925 for three shocks. I never rode a bike with aftermarket arms and/or suspension so this will do for me. I preferred springs just in case a seal busted and one side collapsed. Plus i saved a good bit of money over fox shocks. I do plan to keep using Elka. The vendor i used ordered my front shocks wrong. I emailed Elka and left a message via their automated phone system. I was called and emailed back within 30minutes. They sent Fed Ex express to my house and within the 3rd day, my shocks were at Elka in Canada. About 2 weeks later, my shocks were back home built correctly. They shipped them back 2-3 air. My cost was $0.00. Excellent customer service. I wont comment on how the ride is because im still building my bike. And when i do ride it, i dont have anything but stock to compare to so i wont. Good luck with your choice.
  19. I ran knobbies at the track in the 1/8. Went slower when my bike was ported. I spun more lol.
  20. what engine, trans, carbs, fuel etc on the drag bike? Seems the serval did well. The drag bike seemed to 60' a hell of a lot better.
  21. I have a set like that as well. Awaiting my chain a few other parts to go test them out. Hopefully next weekend. The lugs are deep in person with a good spread. I got mine from 4wheelonline.com
  22. Thanks. That's how i have one side and they look fine. I guess the rear hangers are for certain pipes only. Ill try to look at the hardware store for some sort or rubber washer so it will damper vibration.
  23. Anyone knows if BBIF Shearers uses rear exhaust hangers?
