I ordered my side panels from powersedge.com. Looking through all the years of the banshee, and the same color in one year is 1/2 the price as another. Thanks for the info. Zach and yamaha04 did you buy those 04 banshee's stock with the white front and rear plastic and vivid red rad. shroud?

Thanks, but it looks like the color for the second one is bluish white solid. I just want to make sure before I order it.

I want to order new oem front panel (radiator shroud) plastic. Kaos and Zach45 said they have 04 shee's with the color I want. When I look up the front panel on the oem diagram they don't list the color. The dealer I talked with was unsure what year it is and said I need to findout what edition in 04 or 05 it is. So if any knows if it is a special edition or any other info I need that would be great. I am told the color is wine red. Thanks

I bought the ricky stator when my oem stator went bad. My shee started within 2 kicks. Then I put the ricky stator in and one time it took 4 kicks and the next time 20 kicks. The next day I rode it I only got it started 2 times, and it ran like crap. It seemed like it had good low end and bad top end, suddenly the opposite would happen. I put my buddies oem stator in and all problems were gone. I bought an oem stator on ebay and the thing runs awsome. My engine builder told me he has had nothing but bad luck with ricky stator. I also did a search for ricky stator and found alot of problems with them.

If it turns out to be the stator, beware of the ricky stator. I replaced my bad oem stator with the ricky stator and it was junk. One time it took three kicks to start, the next 20 kicks. The next day got it started two times but didn't run good at all. Put my buddies oem stator in and the thing started and ran great. So if it is the stator buy oem. Just my 2 cents.

I saw your shee out there, nice ride. Sorry I didn't make it over there. Mine made it off the truck only for a major disappointment. I had to kick the thing a ton to finally get it started. Then when I finally got it started it ran like junk. After messing with it, i think it's the stator. I put a new ricky stator in it when i had the motor ported ( old one was bad). It is getting spark, just not enough and to inconsistent. Beginning of June it ran awsome, just hard to start. I researched the ricky stator and found alot of problems. Back to ebay to find a stock one I guess. Anyway your shee was fast! My buddy was running with ya alot. He has a 4mil also. His shee had out of frame and was blue without any plastic. Always ran on the inside closest too ya. I had to just ride the KX on the dunes all weekend.

Thanks for your post about RB Racing a while back, if not yours at least your input. I just had my motor ported by him and took it to the dunes first of June and it pulled hard. He did an awsome job on it.

I am trying to get some guys together to ride June 30th. I don't know if July 13-15 is possible.

Yamaha04 Let me know what it's like. I am doing the same thing, but Jeff asked me to send mine to him in April. Maybe i'll get it back in time to ride, maybe not. All i care is that it's done right. I'm with you it's worth the wait.

Thanks again for the info. I have found a couple of sportsman 500's, and i think i will buy one of those. If this is the case, then i will be spending some good money with Jeff at FAST.

I like the bottom one better. Maybe instead of the racing flag stripe, you could have the word Racing throw a big sand roost like it is riding a wheelie. which ever one you settle with, i want one in red.

thanks for the replies. i've seen some smaller utlility quads climb some big dirt hills, but never noticed any at the dunes. From what i've read about the outlander 800, i'm sure it will go anywhere. The smaller cc i go the more money i have left to put into my shee!

I am looking to buy a utiltiy quad for hunting and snowplowing. I also want something I can take to the dunes for family and friends to ride. I ride at siverlake MI. Will a 500cc quad be able to go up the bigger hills, or do I need to go bigger. I am looking at 03 - 06 used polaris sportsman's and yamaha grizzly's.
