  1. I live in Houma.
  2. Had you done anything to it after riding it last?
  3. If you take your carb and look at it from the front which means look at it the way air passes through it you will see a small hole with a small brass jet on the top of it, take a small flat head screwdriver and simply unscrew it. it is very easy.
  4. Best thing to do would be get a carb kit for it and go through both carbs, sounds like the needle and seat are bad. A carb kit comes with new needles and seat and all gaskets, and are relatively cheap I think like 13.95 through dennis kirk or anywhere else. This should fix your problem, It worked for me I had the same thing happen!
  5. I have an 87 banshee with FMF fatty pipes, power core II sileners, bored .60 over wiseco pistons stock carbs and everything else pretty much stock. I recently obtained this precious machine about four months ago, it was in Colorado and I am in Louisiana, so i had to tune it for here. Now when I got it it ran ok but compression was low so i tore it down and did a top end overhall and re sealed the entire motor. ran good when i put it back together but i noticed that it had 210 mains in it, so i know that is way to lean for here so i got new jets for it. I installed 290 mains, (was trying to start out a bit rich and go from there) and 30 pilots, and also changed the needle which was put on the third or middle notch. When I fired it up for the first time I noticed that the left cylinder was not firing ( it would fire maybe 1 time in a 5 second period) the right was firing good. So next I put in a set of new plugs which I should have done anyway, since this the left is still not firing correctly. It has improved but it still is not firing like it is supposed to. Now I've checked the obvious things like wiring and things. I did check to make sure it has fire and it does have a good spark. I guess the next thing to do would be tear the carbs down again and double check evrything and check the reeds. I'm just hoping some of you Banshee Gods could give me a little something more to go on. You guys have been such a huge help since I started this project!!
  6. What are these la dunes you guys are speaking of? I live in south louisiana and always looking for new places to ride...
  7. Yes the air and idle screws.
  8. I have an 87 shee and i just did a carb overhall, what is the factory settings for the screws on the cabs? I have factory carbs.
  9. I just bought and installed the carb kits from dennis kirk. They work great and are cheap as hell 13 bucks a piece. Comes with everything you need!
  10. When the damage occured did it mess up your crank seal at all? You may want to check that first.
  11. Well I am at sea level and riding temps are usually 70 to 90, so 210 is lean huh, how about pilots and what level to start the needle at? Oh i have an airbox with no lid. Thanks for all your help!!!!!!!
  12. Actually I just did a top end overhall last week to it , because i was thinking the same thing. I have 65 MM wiseco forged pistons but everything else but the exhaust is stock. I know my main jets are 210, not sure what the pilots are, but i believe they are stock size. any idea what a good starting point would be. Oh yeah and before i did the top end rebuild i did a compression check and i had 117 in the left anf 70 in the right, which is why i went ahead and tore it down.
  13. Ok So I went down to my local motorcycle performance store and picked up a set of carb kits, I soaked the carbs overnight and then overhauled them. Thia fixed my fuel leakage problem on both carbs  So then i went to crank it up and, well funny thing is it would not start so i made sure that i was getting fire and i was so i figure its has to be a fuel problem......(I also slapped in a new set of spark plugs. again i start kicking and nothing.....untill i put my hand over the exaust and then well it fired right up. Now I've only owned the bike for about 3 months and it has always been hard to start when its cold. Could this hard starting be an exaust packing problem or what? By the way I have FMF fatty pipes and FMF powercore II silencers on it. Oh and i also checked the choke tube which is good.
  14. Thanks I will try and get back to you!
  15. I have an 87 shee with 65mm forged wiseco pistons, fmf fatty pipes and the rest is pretty much stock. It was running fine one day then I went to start it the next day and noticed the carbs were both leaking through the overflow, then could not start it. Will carb overhall fix my problem?
