FS: ITP Trac Star wheels for sale....NEW
Rippin-it replied to Rippin-it's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Sure thing, I was just being lazy and had this pic already on my computer. I will post them up shortly. -
I am selling these 20x10x9 6 ply ITP Trac Stars. I have only used them about 3 times in the sand. They are mounted on Red Label Douglass wheels. I will sell them for $110 dollars for the rear set ONLY, not the fronts. I am keeping the fronts but am getting paddles for the rear. [email protected] 904 234 2207

I am selling my ITP Trac Stars, front and rear. These were for my banshee, but will fit any Yamaha sport quad. They are mounted on Douglass .190 red label wheels, and have a 1 inch offset in the front to give it a better stance. These tires are 6 ply rubber and are very light. I paid $550 shipped through Rocky Mountain atv. I will sell them for $400 and will pay half of the shipping. I will send pics via email since I don't know how to post them here. Thanks, Brendon Doherty [email protected] 904 234 2207

Clutch slipping on an 06 banshee? WTF
Rippin-it replied to Rippin-it's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
No, the tires are gripping on the pavement. I actually have ITP trac stars. I think it is clutch slippage from the pipes, compression, and timing increase. I am debating whether to get stiffer springs or a new clutch and do it right the first time. -
I picked up my 06 LE banshee about 2 months ago. After installing the following mods, the clutch seems to slip in the higher gears (3rd-6th) on the pavement when you hit the powerband hard. I have T6 pipes, Noss 18cc domes, Dyna fs ignition, V3 reeds, K+N no lid, and 15t front sprocket. This only seems to happen on the pavement or on real hard pack dirt. Once the motor "comes on the pipe" it pulls for a second then the motor will rev faster and the bike will slow down a bit, almost like I was slipping the clutch. BTW, I am not mistaken this for over rev, or "falling off the pipe. My brothers banshee with the same mods does the same thing. Is that the clutch slipping, or the crank??? Is a stronger clutch needs with all this low end torque?

Just ordered Dyna FS from Trinity
Rippin-it replied to Rippin-it's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I am definetly going to get it reprogrammed at some point. I was swotching the curves from stock to curve 1 and 3 and what a difference. The bottom end is sluggish with taller gearing when the curve is set to stock, once you switch to curve 1 it rips! -

I typed that wrong, I meant can Toomey racing program these to work with their pipes? I know trinity racing does it, but who else can? -

Ok fellas, I installed the 15t and the Dyna set to curve 3. These mods are in addition to T6 pipes, v3's, 18cc Noss head, K+N with no lid, and 330 mains - needle 4th - stock pilots at sea level. My opinion on the Dyna FS...... YESSSAH! This mod is phenomenal! I geared up 1 tooth on the countershaft sprocket but with the igntion the bottom-mid hit/response is much, much better than the stock gearing. Normally with my mods and jetting it takes 6-8 kicks cold with the choke on....... now 3 kicks and it fired right up. I highly reccomend it. I wonder if builders can custom tune this cdi for my pipes/ mods etc. -

PM sent to both of you  -
I just ordered a Dyna FS igntion from Trinity Racing for my 06 LE. The guy I spoke with said for $60 more they will custom tune the cdi box to produce more power. First off, does this mod really help throttle response and low mid "pickup"? Secondly, is it worth having them custom program the cdi or just go with the curves from Dynatek? I have T6 pipes, k+n with no lid, NOSS 18cc domes, V3's and will be adding the Dyna FS and a 15 T front sprocket. I got the Dyna instead of the adjustable timing plate mainly for the ease of installation etc. I am hoping the ignition will offset the bottom end loss from the bigger sprocket....do you think?

Sent back my Trinity stage IV's for T6's
Rippin-it replied to Rippin-it's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Thats is how I figured the FMF's would be. Also like you say about the sound, the Toomeys have that distinct noise that is so addicting to listen to. All the other pipes sound good but are to "smooth". I don't plan on porting any time in the near future so I think the T6's would suite me better. Plus the T6's are more of a low and mid pipe - T5's more mid to top. I ride smooth sandy trails using 3rd and 4th gear mainly. I also don't ride the bike real hard so the T6's seem to have the snap right there at low rpm cruising speed. -
Sent back my Trinity stage IV's for T6's
Rippin-it replied to Rippin-it's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
The trinitys were a great pipe no doubt, they just lacked the "hit" that the Toomeys give on a stock motor. How are the SST's that you have? Are they a smooth pipe or do they hit good? I have always loved the sound of toomeys, so I will most likely go with them, but the SST's are always in the back of my mind. -
I bought some trinity stage 4 pipes for my 06 banshee. I installed them with V3 reeds, Noss 18cc dome, and k+n filter with no lid. My brother has the EXACT same mods except he has T6's. We have the same jetting etc. Riding them back to back is night and day difference as far as seat of the pants power. The T6's hit sooner and much harder, they do sign off earlier than the trinitys but overall the power is much better. Trinity is good about sending them back as long as its hasn't been over 30 days. I know the T6's are as good with bog bore and ported motors but I plan to keep it stock for atleast a year or two, at that time I will sell the T6's and get something more suited for that, but on a stock motor I would bet the T6's will outrun any other pipe/silencer combo.

I get ya. I actually noticed that when I was buying the Torco trans oil, I thought I grabbed the bottle of lighter weight oil, but when I looked it sure was 80w!.

"knocking" from the right side pipe
Rippin-it replied to Rippin-it's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I haven't checked my compression yet but going from the charts listed I should be at 185 psi on a relatively stock bike at sea level. I ride a lot of sandy trails using 3rd 4th and 5th a lot and the extra torque makes the banshee much easier to ride. I don't rev the bike extremely hard so I figured the 18cc domes would be great. My brother also has had his banshee for a few years and is running the same set-up which I rode before mine. I liked the way his bike was so I set mine up the same way. I don't think it could be detonation since I am using 112 octane.... could it? -
"knocking" from the right side pipe
Rippin-it replied to Rippin-it's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yes, I am running Turbo Blue 115 (even though its 112 octane I believe) with Klotz R-50 @ 40:1. I am still experimenting with the jetting but I figured that the knocking a low rpm, 0-1/4 throttle whether there is load or no load was due to the fuel no getting completely burnt. Is .031 to wide for a plug gap? Also they are not resistor plugs, could this cause it? Or maybe I need to lean the pilot down to a 25? -
I have a new 06 banshee with 2 hours on it. I installed a Noss head 18cc, trinity pipes, delts V3's, and a k+n with no lid. I am noticing a slight "knocking" noise out of the right side pipe at low rpms while on the pilot jet. I am at sea level running 310 mains, 4th needle, and 27.5 pilots 1.5 turns out on the air screws. Also using NKG B8EG racing plugs gapped at .031. I was thinking it could either be the plug gap is to wide, or the pilots are to rich. It also has a little stumble on off idle to 1/4 throttle but runs great once it hits the "needle jet" or in the mid and top. Am I on track with this rationale?

I just bought some Torco 80w synthetic trans oil for my banshee gearbox, but I can get mobil one 75 90 syntetic gear oil (for free$$) for auto/truck differentials. Is this the same oil? Can I use it safely and effectively in my gearbox?

Fitting problems with trinity stage4 pipes
Rippin-it replied to Fre530d's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Man I just installed my stage 4's this past weekend and had the EXACT same problem! It took a bunch of grease and two strong guys to jam the pipe over the exhaust port, on the right side that is. The left side fit great. It also hit the frame in the same place you said until I tightened everything up, then it fit ok. Overall though the pipes seem to rip real good. They a nice sound, kinda banshee"esque" and kinda of ferrari"esque". -
Make sure there are no leaks around the intake boots, carbs etc. Run either 25-27.5 pilots, needle 3rd to 4th clip and 280-320 mains. Put new plugs, check the spark of the wire, make sure the reeds are good, and if it still doesn't run then it has either got to be the tors, electrical, or internal motor trouble.

2 Banshees..same mods..1with T6.. 1with trinitys->
Rippin-it replied to Rippin-it's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I found the problem.....when jetting the carbs after the pipe install I moved the needle clip to the 2nd postion rather than the 4th! The mid range was way to lean and starving for fuel. I corrected it and put it in the 4th clip and the power is all there now....damn its fast! I take that back about the pipes, the trinitys seem to work real well. Not better by any means than the T6 but about the same. The T6 have more throttle response and low end while the trinitys have more of the "traditional" banshee hit in the mid and upper powerband. I do however like the look of the trinitys better but like the raspy sound of the T6's. -
Piped banshees running needles 3rd clip?
Rippin-it replied to Rippin-it's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
To be honest, I was going out to rejet my bike this afternoon and realized that when I was jetting the carbs the first time (at 12 in the morning.....) I moved the clip up to the blunt end which is the 2nd postion! I know..... what an idiot. So I moved the clip to the actual 4th position and drove it and man THE POWER IS BACK! Man this thing rips now, I was having doubts about the trinitys but they have a great mid and top hit to them!
