  1. your shee can go through as much water as your fathers 4 smoke. Either one will have the same issues if you get water into the air box your in trouble no matter which quad your on. same thing with the bearings, his will let in as much water as yours will unless its some big utility quad or sumthin. ttyl
  2. My friend and I took the silencers off his v max 4 which is a sled with, basically 2 banshee motors side by side with a common crank, That bastard sounded soooooo good I still have a chubby over it. Too bad my 02 xc 700 smoked it but it sounded good when I went by
  3. My best friend has a 2000 scrambler 400 2x4 and he beat that thing beyond any belief. He punished that quad for like 2 years he ran it without any air filter and everything, held it wide open down main roads for 8 or 10 miles. and it finally blew up this winter but he is rebuilding it and swares by it. He has an fmf pipe and silencer, shaved head,v force reeds and clutch kit. and it moves pretty good. When he is wound out I could go by him in the top of 5th gear with my banshee. I had a lot of mods on that banshee so it was pretty fast but the scrambler kept up good for a polaris automatic. hope this helps.
  4. what makes more power/better power. What do you use??? what do you think?? what have you heard?? I had ported stockers on my last shee and I switched to v force because I got a good deal on them. I wasn't sure if I gained top end power with the v force over the ported stockers but I liked the power spread and since they where such a good deal I had to tryem. now Im buying another shee and I have people telling me ported stock cages make more power. does anyone know if this is true
  5. Im thinking of buying a banshee with a 409 pro comp kit on it but Im wondering what else needs to be done to make sure everything else holds up. Under that power Im worried about loosing clutches, trannies, cranks, and shit like that. what do you think???
  6. the guys who ride all the new 4 strokes where fooled into spending too much money on something that just will never have the power of a banshee. They read all the articles on how fast and great the 4 strokes are. Those articles where influenced by all the tree huggers. Either that or they just cant handle the banshees power and they need something that just about drives itsself with the little push button start and reverse. The 4 strokes have that nice smooth power that comes on nice and slow so they dont scare themselves. Dont worry about what everyone else says When the raptor came out the mags said it was so much faster than the "outdated banshee" Now we all know the difference dont we. Dont believe everything you read and anytime anyone says your shee isnt good for a certain kind of racing just offer them a race and show them that yamaha had their best product in 1987 and its still king. Lets see if they are still making raptors unchanged 17 years from now.
  7. Last year yamaha changed the blaster plastic to make it look more modern and sleeker and now they have put the warrior in a raptor style body and call it a raptor 350. Do you think they will do anything with the banshee next year or are they just gunna fase it right out???
  8. Hey We all know what a raptor will do next to a banshee... NUTHING!! But honestly has anyone ever raced a raptor with Nitrous?? Have you ever ridden one. know anyone who has a raptor with nos?? any info on this would be great Thanks guys
  9. I traded my banshee for a 98 honda cbr 600 smokin joes edition last summer and now all my friends are getting quads. If anyone is interested in this bike let me know I would like to trade it for a banshee but if I cant I'll sell it and buy another banshee. [email protected]
  10. I traded my awsome 2000 banshee for a 98 cbr 600 smokin joes edition bike and now all my friends are getting quads so I wanna try and trade my bike for another banshee similar to what I had. If anyone is interested please email me or call [email protected] (315)848-3590
  11. everyone is happy with one or the other. I just think if a faom filter is getting clogged up then isn't it because its catching all the dirt?? I can see where that would be a pain in the ass for some riders but I have never had a foam filter clog up on me. If it does I would think you could just peel off the outer foam piece and shake the shit out of it but I dont know because It hasn't happened to me. At any rate its all in what you want... peace
  12. I wouldn't let anyone ride my shee when I had the twist on. I just told them don't ask, this thing is way too out of controle to let anyone but myself on it. They were always like "I can handle it" ya right.
  13. crazysteve, those guys can also aford to put a new topend on their motors every couple races. You see a lot of dirt bike and quad racers using K&N filters and replacing pistons and rings every couple races too so they can keep the edge on their rings and keep the compression up. Its all in what you want and can aford.
  14. I think a k&n filter might be acceptable if you are riding in damp woods areas without any real dust espectilly fine dust. and were you won't hit any mud. However for the power (or the lack of) its not worth it to me foam filters much better.
  15. Nope. foam all the way!!
  16. I used both and I hated my twist and couldn't wait to get back to a thumb throttle. I found the quad out of controle a lot. maybe its just me I dont have much experience on a bike with a twist but I do have a lot of experience on a banshee and I hated that twist. The only thing it was good for is cruising at a medium speed for a long time, you didn't get thumb ache other than that it made everything a lot harder to do. peace
  17. You said that you realized that the oil in the intake was just dirty not originally brown. That dirt is dirt that your k&n filter let through, if there is that much dirt being cought in the intake imagine how much is going right into your motor. put a foam filter on and see how much dirt is int he intake, I bet its a lot less or none. just some food for thought. cheers.
  18. sorry they are 22x12x9 and brand new. Email me if any one wants to work out a deal I could use some extra $$ right now. [email protected]
  19. I think the paddle tires would be good as long as you only have to go in loose snow. but if you have to run down the road or something your paddles will get all tore up. that type of riding wount hurt a big lug tire like realtors or swampers. The realtors I have for sale are 22/11/9 and will fit stock rims. later
  20. I had a set of realtors on my shee all last winter, I thought they worked great and I even bought another new pair to put on this winter but I bought a new sled and Im gunna put my shee up for the winter so I am gunna sell the realtors, brand new, $100 let me know if your interested. I thought they powered through snow great.
  21. If you go with toomey pipes you will get everything you need and all you have to do is install and ride. I dont recommend a k$n filter anyways. In my opinion they let in too much dirt and for the 1/4 or so HP you gain its not worth it. The toomeys come with all the jets and good directions their customer support is the best, I had a pipe hanger break and I emailed them asking how much a new one was and before I had a chance to check my mail again there where a set of new pipe hangers at my house, NO charge and they shipped it priority. They also give me stickers and shit all the time. I would really consider other pipes before you buy procircuits which by the way are better than DG or alba. peace
  22. I just traded my thumb throttle to boonman for his twist. I wanted to try a twist throttle because I have never tried it but I dont like it, so if anyone wants a twist I'll trade em. I want a thumb throttle that is in good condition, no rust or dammage. and it has to have a cable what fits the motion pro carb tops. if any one is interested Let me know [email protected]
  23. If you rode a preditor you must have access to a prototype because the production model hasn't been released yet>
  24. Is there a special way to make sure that my chain adjusters are equally adjusted??? is there something I can measure or something???
