Just Finished Moding My Timing Plate No Difference
nickxc replied to nickxc's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I only rode it once but It really felt flater all around. There is a rib that goes up on each side of the 3 bolt holes. I shaved it right to that rib and then stopped. I then shaved off the rib that was on the side i shaved too so the bolts would mount flush. all accept the one that has the mounts for the little black box on it because I couldnt get into it. so that bolt sticks out a little bit more but it still holds well. any help is very much appreciated. Thanks guys!! -

Just Finished Moding My Timing Plate No Difference
nickxc posted a topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I just got done modifying my timing plate and Im not sure if I did it right. It didnt feel any different really, If anything it seemed to take longer to reach the top of the gears especially 5 and 6 wtf did I do it right?? Im pretty sure I did I widened the holes so the timing plate would rotate clockwise. I widened them as far as the rib that goes up beside them and then shaved the rib off so the bolts would mount flush all except the one nest to where the little black box mounts, that one I couldn't get into to shave so I bolted it up and it bolted up fine but the bolt just sticks out a little more because of the rib on one side of it. will that effect anything. I really dont know much about electrical stuff. any help would be great thanks in advance -

How Much Of A Difference Between Sst, T5, & T6
nickxc replied to nickxc's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I was just looking on their site and the way they have them listed they have all the t6 kits under a heading that says "for stock motors" and all the t5 kits listed under a heading that says "for stock or modified motors" and I plan on adding some motor mods so maybe I'll stick with the sst's I think they make good power and I like the sound of em I just dont have any experience with fmf pipes Ive always used toomey even on friends bikes. -
I had T5s on my old banshee and sst's on my new one. its been so long I cant really notice much difference between the two (plus they had different mods) But Im wondering if its worth the money to get a set of t6's. I could prolly get $350 out of my sst's but then it would be like another $200 just to have a different set of pipes. Is it worth the money???????

no shit dude, f*ck everybody who wants to buy it for a grand, I'll give ya 2 grand for it and spank your ass on any R with it. ttyl -
cool, I bought 3 gallons for $50 because a friend of mine got rid of his sleds and has no use for it. It wont matter if I have some series 2000 mixed up in my tank and I switch to interceptor will it???
-
also how much do you usually pay for a gallon. Thanks guys!!
-
WOW, congratulations I didn't realize how many of you where having babies. Mine is 10 months old and shes beauityful.
-
I usually use amsoil series 2000 but I got a deal on some amsoil interceptor high performance 2 cycle oil but I'v never heard of it. Is it good stuff???? thanks in advance
-
I think the only way to check your timing is to pull your flywheel and see what kinda key is in it and if the stator plate is modded. its rather easy to do though.
-
as long as your not gunna be in water up to the top of your air box then you can run without your lid and get better power out of you shee. It really makes a good difference.
-
your gunna get 100 different replies on which oil is better. I run amsoil series 2000 but any good oil will be just fine.
-
Ya They are supposed to be stopped by 06 but thats all the more reason to buy one now before you cant get one anymore. Im gunna buy up a couple banshees while I still can.

I also live in upstate NY about 40 min from D&D. I used vitos ss pistons on my last banshee and I did notice a nice difference with them. I had one piston skirt break which caused me to have to replace both pistons and bore it out again but I still went back to the vitos piston even though they wouldnt warranty anything I still liked the power they gave. I would recommend them if you dont plan on doing any more than a clean up portjob but they wont work with ported motors If you want to email me I can give you a guys number that lives near Lowville NY and he is awsome with banshees He made mine FLY.

If your compression is up another thing it could be is your crank, A stock crank will twist if it hasnt been welded. I was told that and didnt believe it but I had a banshee that just seemed to get slower and slower and over the winter the only thing I did was have my crank trued and welded and the next spring I was pulling 3 or 4 bike lengths on my friends who where beeting me last year.

I have heard that the early edition banshees where faster stock than the new ones87-89 has anyone else ever heard this??

What Did You Notice When You Lightned Your Flywhee
nickxc replied to nickxc's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Thanks alot guys I cant wait to get mine back and try it. Im really glad to see all the positive about this I was sure Id see some negative replies. I ride in all sorts of different terrain. I have dunes, long dirt roads, and really tight, wet, muddy, rockey woods around here in NY and I ride it all. I'll let everyone know what I think of this mod once I have a chance to try it out in some different places. thanks again!!
