  1. Is the LSR axle nut a locking nut? If so I'll take it, been wanting one for awhile. If you could sent pics to [email protected] that'd be great.
  2. I think it's something to do with Kevin's porting (not a bad thing at all). I had a port done by him for T-5's as well and with a stock head milled .020 I was reading somewhere around 130, thinking it should be higher. I am right with you that it runs like a raped ape even for low compression so I didn't really care. Try checking your squish clearance, mine was a little high (.053 i believe) so that explains why my compression is a bit low.
  3. I believe it's 6x.075 too, I've got one but it's not up here with me, but knowing you you've got a whole set of taps already
  4. Well I got the coolhead and 19 domes, why not use 'em. I'm gonna run 100LL too, not race gas, I can get it pretty cheap
  5. After all that work what's a couple extra bux for 100 octane. I'll run it this way till I get a new o-ring kit then throw the 19cc domes on there. Good to know everything's safe though and that was the only issue.
  6. Ok with the stock stock head squish is around .055 and with the milled head it is around .050, so sounds like that's a bit high, therefore explaining the small loss in compression.
  7. Seems like a good deal...haven't priced intakes tho
  8. That sucks, now as for which seal I'm not really sure. I just had my cases apart but can't think of what seals would leak tranny oil into the cases.
  9. I had a random oil leak too, never really figured out where it came from. Check the vent tubes, check to make sure your clutch side cover is on good. That's really the only 2 legit places oil could come from.
  10. Is this just on start-up? Does it smell like a car burning oil? If it does then it's a crank seal leaking tranny oil in, and 4-stroke oil has a very distinct smell.
  11. 35mm PWK's or 34mm PJ's
  12. With 14/41 gearing, running 22" 10 paddle ultra-lite haulers in soft river sand it lagged a bit in 1st gear when I would slowly run it up to speed. Now whether this was lower compression (130psi) or the other factors I'm not sure. Squish clearance #'s will be coming tonight with both stock heads. When I get a new o-ring set I will throw the 19's in and get a psi # from that. Otherwise I guess I will just run the milled head and see if anything changes.
  13. It possibly could be the porting, obviously every port job will re-act differently. My buddy has some Trinity drag ported cylinders and with 20cc domes he has 165/165 in each cylinder. Granted when he had it rebuild last time the builder did deck a little off the top and bottom of the cylinders, and this is why I think his is so damn high for the domes he's running.
  14. Yep I get the concept, just never checked the clearance. Will get it done this evening and post back up.
  15. I've got the gaskets that come in the Rocky Mountain Cometic kit. Used the base and head gasket.
  16. K he said the exhaust is 27.5 mm down from the deck. That don't mean shit to me tho Any chance the rings didn't seat properly or something like that?
  17. Just need 1 really, lmk if you have any.
  18. Sent the builder a msg and I'll check the squish tonight. I might add that with the .024milled head and the compression at 130 this thing ran great, it pulled very hard and I was impressed with how it ran for the little tuning I did.
  19. Yes they are ported, that's what I had them off for. But shit it wouldn't affect it 20 psi would it?
  20. Well, from the beginning: Had the cylinder in a vise to put the studs in, lightly of course, held by the cast flashing at the bottom. It slippped and broke a piece off. Now I'm pretty sure cast doesn't bend, but for some reason on the cylinder on the bottom I wasn't able to get the piston through. It was rubbing some down on the bottom and I could see where it was on the piston. I honed it some and that helped but it was still rubbing, so I started slowly grinding some material away down by the flashing where it was rubbing till the piston fit, then sanded smooth. It is below where the rings seal off, so it shouldn't affect anything besides piston-wall clearance IMO. I'll check the squish tonight, does it matter which of the heads I use, will that change anything?
  21. Elevation is around 1200 ft. I kicked the hell out of it then had buddy kick it to make sure I wasn't bein a pussy. Compression guage is good we checked his bike and it reads around 160 with 20cc domes. I did check the piston to wall clearance on the piston that wouldn't fit through after I had to grind some out for it to fit (yeah I know weird, who knows but that's how this project's gone), but I talked to the guy who did the porting/bore and he did it according to the pistons in hand. Ring end gap was good. The domes in the .024 milled head roughly cc'd out to around 20.5-21ish (did a rough test). And a big 'ol negative on checking the squish. I thought maybe i got a big base gasket or somethin, not sure.
  22. Guess it's the idle that I needed to adjust. I'll try that tonight.
  23. I'm bout tired of this fuckin build, this thing is about to be on ebay. Put the motor back together last Saturday and got about an hour of break-in on it. Checked compression with a (what I thought) was stock head milled .040. It was at 130/130, I thought that was kinda low but I figured the rings hadn't seated yet so it'd go up. Rode Sunday at the river, pretty much like normal, didn't pussy foot it but didn't hot rod it or anything just raced like normal. Checked compression last night, still 130/130...shit. I then pulled the head off to see if it was really milled, and it's milled around .024. Ok, figured the compression with that should at least be around 140 or possibly higher. Had another stock head that isn't milled so I threw that on just to see and I got around 110/110. Have the rings not seated yet, or is it somethin else?
  24. Gotcha, I knew it was gonna be open for special events, did someone new buy it?
  25. Weird, maybe my idle wasn't set right, who knows.
