Well, we finally got tired of talking about a bike. We were planning on buying a Hayabusa & build it into a drag bike. This deal came up & it was to good to pass up. It's a Suzuki GS conversion chassis, with a GXR 750 body & a GXR 1100 motor. The motor is basically stock with a few bolt-ons, Fast By Gas 38 lectrons, Schnitz pro series ignition & a MTC Slider Clutch. Neither Justin or I know much about riding, tuning or racing a drag bike. The drag bike guy's have always welcomed/helped with the drag quad & are willing to help with the bike also. I'm personally looking forward to tuning the slider clutch. The bike is not that fast & will run mid - high 9s @ 130+ depending on rider weight.

I have more lives than a cat & always land on my feet running. Besides, I bought this for Justin & I get the headaches of tuning it.

Here's our new project for our racing program. The one below is our back-up bike. Our back up is more than the two idiots NYUK & Deadbeat have!!!

It really depends on many different factors: motor size, rider weight, track or street, just to name a few. The common thing is to run a stock or +1" - +3" a-arm up front & then choose a swingarm accordingly to the 1st sentence.

Tedder is older than me & we have both been faster.

There has been 1 or 2 shared in this thread & I've had probably around 10 shared in PMs. Plus, I've seen a few personally with my close friends/family. What I've found since starting this thread. The vast majority wants to keep the clutch information for themselves. I get many people wanting me to provide personal clutch tuning either in PMs or even with phone calls. The whole purpose of this thread was to share the information equally with the BHQ Member's. I soon found other's coming to the site to cherry pick the information. Hence the reason(s), I keep the good chunk of privy information for myself & family (including Tedder). Not saying the information given is junk, It's a starting point of the best basics I know (Baseline, Base Pressure & Arm Weight In That Order) & a few extras. Then it's up to the end user to build on them basics. There was nothing easy about learning this stuff. It took too many years, too many runs on different/varying surfaces & I still learn to this day when I take the quad out.

We had some issues with the launch rpm limiter, the 60's & reactions were suffering. This motor has been 1.30 60' on sand. It's not easy trying to get a bike to run 1/4 mile somewhat fast with a 2.05 gear ratio. If it was, everybody would be doing it; but they are not. Anyway, I'm all ears about how we are supposed to do this right, LOL!

We do race for money/grudge, but that's not the only reasons we don't post our best. Even our smaller motors run much faster & so will this one. It's not worth the Forum Bull Shit hassle, that goes along with it. We very seldom run our quads all out, bracket, index & even heads-up. We take the finish line by least amount possible & if we can't beat the opponent, we kill ET/MPH at the finish line. This leaves the opportunity to grudge race for money later, without showing our hand.

Most people like time slips, but few want to post them. While we don't post our fast times. We do post some teaser slips now & again. This was Angel's 1st time running the 1/4 mile. This was his 3rd run

Keep up the hard work, but don't sell yourself short with that 358 Cub. There's a BHQ Member that has put down some damn impressive runs with one. A couple of time slips have been posted way back in time, in the drag section.

Angel did a great job last night for his 1st time running the 1/4 mile on a quad! He went 10.34 riding old school on his 3rd run.

Points came out today. I'm in 2nd less than 1 round out of 1st. 3rd place in less than 2 rounds out of 1st. It's going to be a tight finish for the last points race this coming weekend.

Well, I have one more points race left. The last race of the series is Sept 19th. This past weekend went OK, but 2nd & 3rd in points closed the gap on me. They haven't posted the points yet, but I should still be in 1st. Whether I Win or not, I'm qualified to run for the Division 7 Championship in Fontana, CA. Oct. 1-4. I did some testing/racing 15 & 16 Aug. there. The track is at a lower altitude & had to DETUNE the car to be legal. I guess I missed the detune, OOPS! Next pass was a 10.005, still cutting it a little too close.

The quad has been sitting untouched since June 26. That's the longest I ever went without touching it. I could get use to that! Anyway working on the quad today. Angel is going to race it this coming Sat. It will be nice to have it back out at the track again. We will see if he has the balls to run 1/4 mile with it.

That has been a great, but simple way of adjusting timing. We have did it both ways, proper custom timing curve & advancing with plate. I'll take our custom curve every time!

While I'm not a fan of Dyna's customer service/programming the system (they suck). I have never ran the MSD set-up. With that being said, I have researched trying a MSD & I have ran a programmable Dyna since 2004. IMO, the dyna has better program features. Example, the Dyna launch limiter can be set in 100 rpm increments vs. 500 rpm increments for the MSD. That's a very important feature for tuning the launch.

So far 2nd gear works best for it.
