My friend just got a new rev box the other day. He says it feels a lot better, but we haven't raced yet. I need some holeshots for the shee. I've got Kevlar belted Bandit's on the back and they weigh a ton. He's looking forward to dragging, but I think I've got it covered! I'm gonna have to show my friend this picture. He'll love it. We don't wee very many other 650's in OH. Anybody know of a good website for the ds650? My buddy would like to find something like this site.

question about getting my rims nice
BANSHEEMANIA replied to trueraiderfan's topic in Banshee Appearance
Get paint STRIPPER not THINNER. This is a totaly different product. It is a much more serious product. You need to wear gloves to apply it. Go to an automotive paint supplier, and they will tell you what to use. I'm serious, you just brush it on and hose it off like 20 minutes later. The paint will come off like skin. -

You could just use a chemical paint stripper from an automotive paint store or maybe even Lowes. You probably don't want to let it set on your tires though. Sanding them will take FOREVER. The rims should be the same color as factory silver wheels, but it will take a little work if you want them to really shine. If you talk to someone at the paint store they should be able to tell exactly what stripper is safe for aluminum. You just brush it on and let it soak for a while then hose it off and "presto" silver wheels. -
Yami Rider has his own thread wanting to trade the black fenders. I have white fenders like you.

I didn't mean it would lock up just by starting it, but what would be the point of running it when you know its lean. 2 strokes run awesome when they are lean, but then they don't run at all after a few minutes.
-
Yes, it would totally ruin your motor! Don't even start it untill you re jet. It might scream, untill it locks up!

Maybe around $1700-$1900? Its a 91 right? Maybe more, but you can usually pick up a 97- 01 piped banshee with a few other mods for $2500 to $3000 around here[OHIO]! Some even have afermarket a arms, shocks etc.

Be careful not to apply too much oil. It can clog the filter and cause you to foul plugs. I put about a cap full or a little more in a plastic bag and rub it together to coat the bag. Then I put the filter in the bag and rub it around to get an even, light coat of oil. You only need enough to leave a light residue on your finger when you touch it. I've used mineral spirits from Home Depot to clean my filter with no problem, but I'm not positive that its ok to use. Toomey Racing told me to use soapy water, but that does't seem to work very well to me. Companys like Twin Air and K&N sell jugs of foam filter cleaner. My buddy got a kit that came with like a 2 gallon bucket of cleaner with a strainer in the bottom, and oil came with it too.

I've got some fmf fatty pipes with power core2 silencers. No dents or dings, but the finish isn't very nice anymore. Fogot the silencer mounting stuff on another banshee I sold. I called fmf a couple weeks ago and they said $15 for the kit. I'll take $200 shipped. If you are interested I can e mail you some pics.

Maybe about 3-4hrs. or so of trail riding before I put it on reserve!

His zilla must suck ass!! My buddy has one with a shaved head, do it yourself porting, and an LRD pipe. My banshee has a mild port job, t-5 pipes, trinity coolhead with 20cc domes etc. That zilla runs VERY, VERY strong. I have beaten him and he has beaten me. As much as I hate to say it, I think with a perfect race from both of us the zilla would win every time. I consider myself lucky when I win. Honestly we've only ran them about 6 times and we split them. If he gets that thing running right you're going to need alot more than reeds and domes. For your sake I hope he doesn't get it fixed. You can beat him, but breakout the tools and your credit card.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody else has dragged a Bombardier ds650 against your banshee? My buddy has one thats stock except a slip on mullfler and a bigger main jet. My banshee has mild porting, a T-5 exhaust, trinity cool head with 20cc domes. I can beat him evry time if I shift halfway decent. I beat him by maybe 8-12 lenghts? Its kinda hard to tell when he's behind me! I'm just kinda surprised that it's close enough to beat me if I don't hit the gears pretty good. Am I slow or does this seem close to the norm. His quad is heavy, but I guess a ROTAX 650 probably puts out a lot of power. Any thoughts on the subject?

Here are a couple pics. Thats some glue from old graphics on the rad. plastic. I will remove all of that before I trade. No cracks or deep scratches. Just some light scratches. Please let me know if the pics don't work. This is my first attempt to add pics. I can take more if needed.

Getting tired of looking at the same old colors. Thinking of trading my Yamaha Blue tank and rad. plastics for maybe a black or yellow set. I might be interested in other colors too! No red or light blue. My fenders are white and I might trade those for another color too. I just want to change the look without spending much so I'm hoping someone else is bored too, and wants to trade. No painted or broken plastics please.

Does it matter which piston goes where?
BANSHEEMANIA replied to Rebel3190's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I agree that it only matters if the machine shop took the time to measure both pistons before he bored the cylinders. If the shop just did a general rebuild and wasn't worried about optimum performance than it doesn't matter which hole they go in. My shop had to have both pistons in hand before he would bore the cylinders. -
I would think if you don't get any air, or very little you could ride it that way for a long time. It will be pretty soft, but if your just cruising it will get you by.

I've got some fmf fatties with power core2 silencers. No dents or cracks, but the finish isn't that great. They could be shined up ok or repainted. The silencers look pretty good. I lost the hardware that bolts the silencers to the quad frame. The kit is $15 from fmf. I was thinking $200 shipped.

Parting out 2000 MX Banshee
BANSHEEMANIA replied to ellison445's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Interested in tcs rear shock, or maybe all three tcs shocks. What weight rider are they set up for, and are they set up for the +2 swingarm, and +2 a arms? -
I agree that you need to have a helicoil put in. It might run, but no way would I expect it to last!

Ive got some fmf fatty pipes with power core2 silencers. No dents, but the finish is just so so. I know you said Toomeys, but I'll let these go for $220.

Why does it cost money to be a Premium Member!?!

I live in Ohio also and think Wayne National Forest is pretty sweet, and alot of people would kill for thousands of acres of legal trails to ride. What do you mean not atv friendly? All the trails are atleast 50 inches wide and are constantly kept in rideable condition. I happen to think mx tracks are sweet too! Sand would be awesome, but you can't have it all. I think you should be thankful you have anyplace to ride within a reasonable distance, a lot of people don't. -

I agree with you on the keeping bs where it belongs. I didn't bother researching his other posts, I just drew an opinion from this one. This post seems to be in the right place and a reasonable question. So I don't know why some people want to tear the guy up on this thread because they didn't like another. It just adds to the bs. Some of you know more about him than me. I just based my opinion on this individual thread, and misc. other ones that take me longer to read the sarcasm and smart ass remarks than to actually find the answer. This thread really isn't too bad, but it seemed to be headed the same way as a lot of others I've ran across. -

It kinda seems to me that some people on this site just look for a reason to be sarcastic. The kid was just asking a question. He may not have worded it the best, but it wasn't offensive in any way, unless your just a sensative kinda guy. I haven't been on this site in a few years untill recently, and I think it's one of the best sites on the web for our sport. I'm a standard member and still think its great, and spending the $30 would probably make it even better. Sometimes an answer is easier than stating the obvious like "If you don't like it don't pay it" NO SHIT! We were all 14 once and we should remember we didn't know it all then, and still don't know it all now. It was just a simple and reasonable question that required a simple and reasonable answer. Not a half dozen people trying to make him feel stupid. Some guys are helpful, but for some reason like to act like jerks in the process. I'm sure I just pissed a few people off, but that is not my intention by posting this. I just seem to see the same kinda bad attitude on a lot of threads for some reason. Just my worthless opinion! Maybe if people just let the "stupid" questions and posts just sit there instead of contributing to the waste of time, people wouldn't post so much "stupid" stuff! -
Wrecked Raptor for sale or trade.
BANSHEEMANIA replied to stuntmasta3o5's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
$15- $20 a cap. There are no tires on the rims. They were trashed so I took them off. If your interested let me know I may take less for them since I don't have a car they fit. Like I said, I'm positive the wheels are straight and true.
