  1. Ok, so I got the shee out for the first time today, not even really out, just put some gas in it (yamalube and premium) and fired her up. it was put away last year with being fogged and carbs ran empty on fuel, also the tank was drained and used in the lawn mower, this was fresh gas/oil. Well, here's what happened, it started after second kick, yeah it was kinda cold but still was pretty warm in the garage... well, it ran for a few and i decided to change the silencers, so i ran to the store, grabbed packing and redid the packing, went to start up afterwords and it started (and was nice and quiet) but it didn't want to idle... never really idled well. so i looked at my pipes and it was throwing more "smoke" out of the right pipe. then i put my hand over the end of the pipes to feel the flow, and the left bank is like a faint blow while the right feels like putting your hand out the window doing 50mph. way WAY different. any ideas? last year my tors went out and i ordered tors removers and installed them, didn't feel comfortable trying to sinc the carbs so i took it to the local dealer and had them get it going... looked at the adjustment screws on the carbs and the left carb is fully in while the right is about half way in... no way they can be that far off... right? did the dealer bone me at the end of last season?
  2. i'll hook ya up, orange square is needed and the flag has to hit a bar that is 10 feet off the ground... so a 9' flag mounted a foot off the ground would be fine. Also, i was up there today getting the shee ready... well trying to and failing miserably... (read in the its broke thread im about to post) anyways, the weather was 35* and snow... big ass flakes going completely sideways, gas was actually cheaper in silver then over on the highway. only saw 1 group of campers at the state park, and 2-3 at yogi bear... and MAYBE 5 vehicles in the parking lot/ORV enterance. anyways, im off to make this other post... please help me there also, i'll be up the next 3 weekends, if i can get someone to even come look at this thing and help that would be wonderful... (its in silver, behind bumper cars)
  3. saturday is gunna suck but sunday looks pretty good...
  4. just found my receipt (and remember making sure they were right) 27.5 and 310 for jets. i dunno which are mains and which are secondaries... thats just something i don't know yet... im still new to these carbo things...
  5. they probably are 300+ because i told jeff (i think thats his name) at fast that i wanted it as safe as possible. it doesn't have the air filter box, just the filter. ive been looking at pics of banshees to see what is different with mine from most peoples.
  6. what snorkel are you guys talking about i'll be up there on saturday, so i'll check them. any easy way to pull them out without having to take everything off.
  7. i'm still looking around for the paper, i just moved back to michigan and everything is a mess... i told him its for sand, stock with K&N filter, T5s with Sparky's on them. its for right by the water and has tors removed. at 700-800 feet. im no where saying he sent me the wrong parts, just that ive lost my mind.
  8. bad ass, i just run it at silver lake sand dunes, and thats where it stays. i'll try and find the paper work from fast saying what the mains were. what would you guys think i should run for 700 ft, run it all the time i can but its mostly between 60-100 (rare it hits 100) its ran just on sand, never have taken it on a trail.
  9. it revs just the same in neutral or any gear... it may have been 230's for the mains (i can't remember exactly) AK, it doesn't feel or sound any different passed half throttle. my thought was that it was maxing out at half, and then just stretching something pasted that... i could be wrong on something stretching but thats kinda how it sounds and acts to me.
  10. the reason im not thinking its the clutch because it grabs like hell when i let the clutch out, and it doesn't rev any higher pasted half throttle... and for jets, it has t5 pipes, k&N filter thing (its a cone filter) and the jets are the 220(i believe) that FAST sent me when i told him my set up, elevation, and what kinda riding i do (on sand dunes) anyone around silver lake that knows this stuff... i dunno enough about shee's. the clutch was also installed at the dealer when i had them sync/rebuild the carbs. edit: i just put this motor in the bike, and it has about 15 hours on it (rode it all weekend) its a used motor but seems very perky.
  11. well, the only reason that it was tuned there was since the quad was in michigan and i was in alabama... i only came up for the weekend and didn't wanna sit around trying to find out how to sync the carbs (have the sync tool though) and it doesn't change at all. clutch is brand new... NOW it has about 15 hours on it. but it was doing it from step 1 and on. its like half throttle IS full throttle, but the thumb lever doesn't have any more resistance for the second half.
  12. ok, so i have a stock shee with wider rear axle (not important) and tors elimitators, i had the local yamaha dealer do the carb syncing on it, but had it out in the dunes this last weekend, at half throttle (roughly) and full throttle it feels exactly the same, if i have it at half, and then hit it to full, it doesn't seem to speed up at all.
  13. i didn't really see any banshee groups (biggest was 2 stretched ones at the drags and i didnt see any around them) if that was you guys, sorry i missed ya. i finally beat my dad's yz400 dragging, so over all it was a great weekend, i need one of you guys by holland (if i bring it home) or in silver to try to sync my carbs, i had the dealership in holland do it and i really don't think they did it right, the left side smokes more then the right.... could be back packing i guess...
  14. im leaving in about 10 min, its an hour and a half drive and i stay in a cottage behind the bumper cars place... someone send me a text and i'll head where ever you are 616-886 zero three three one.
  15. hey guys, where are you meeting at? or staying... im going up Friday (sometime) and will be coming back on Sunday night... have yet to meet ANY of you. and its always weird to pull up and say hi.
  16. just curious, where will ya'll be racing at? there is only about 4-6 lanes wide int he middle of the beach, if you want really dry sand go the the north east corner...
  17. i wouldn't be suprised if i showed up sometime during the weekend, my folks are gunna be up there and the machine is ready to go right now... we'll see what im doing friday night if i come up or not and i never see any of your guys there when im running around/
  18. flag will be 20ish (i think its 20 before tax) and you need a state park/temp sticker for each... ive gotten away with just one before but yeah. also, you wanna make sure you have sparkies... but most do
  19. you just have to know where to run... go to the far back (north east) area... nice and flat... and dry as hell.
  20. i saw the hummer, but never saw your bike, but i was just running laps around the outside...
  21. never got tested (luckly...) so i didn't re-pack them, but i got all the stuff still.
  22. ive gotta repack my pipes... they turned me away a few weeks ago hopefully i can get in... if not i'll be up there on a 125 or in a jeep. blue/yellow shee with a flat black helmet... say hi if you see me.
  23. are you the same one thats on alabamaracingscene.net?
  24. it was pretty nice last weekend (only a few dumb people), i dunno where you guys are gunna race at, it was all pretty wet. hopefully it wont be bad for the 4th. i won't be up there. but I AM MOVING BACK TO HOLLAND!!! so i will be up there more often... well after i get it quieter 104 dB is alil to loud for them... they require 94 by law but allow 96... i guess.
  25. there are only like 3 of us in alabama. but there is a orv park somewhere near cullman... but thats the only one i know of close to you.
