I have done plenty of searching, but cant find the exact info i need. Thank you to all those who have posted helpful dc conversion threads. First off, I am trying to do a dc conversion to charge a battery and power a led light bar. From my research I know how to float the ground and wire up an aftermarket regulator/rectifier. Instead of buying a new regulator/rectifier, I would like to attempt to use one from a 400ex I already have on hand (im assuming this is possible). This is where I cannot seem to find any information on which wires go to what. Take a look at the photo and wiring diagram i posted below and maybe someone can help me out. Im assuming the yellow/pink goes to the stator and the red/black are dc output?? No clue what the green would be for. I could be totally wrong as well so if someone can help me out it would be much appreciated. This is the regulator/rectifier i already have. This is the wiring diagram of a 400ex.

I am looking for suggestions on what kind of battery and led bar combo to wire up to run while riding at night. I am going to eventually do the whole dc conversion thing but before I do, I want to rig up a light temporarily to run off a battery that I can charged when not riding. Anybody have a setup like this? Just wondering how long I could run a light on a battery alone. Let me know what yall think

yeah thats an option but i would rather pick up a used set and save some money

Here is the planet sand discussion on the dunes. Couple pics for you... here is where you can see how rough parts are Some banshees lined up at the drag strip. They actually did a real nice job of keeping it smooth. Lots of people watching from the sides.

I went for Halloween weekend. It has changed a lot, not as good as it used to be. You can't even ride at night anymore!!! It is very very bumpy. They did, however, keep a drag strip smoothed out with a tractor which made it real nice. There were even quite a few drag banshees there. We usually try to go a few times per year, its fun, but not like it used to be. We have gone a couple times and there is hardly anyone there. Have a look at planet sand they have a discussion going on about how Barney's daughter is getting involved trying to get people back out there riding again. They had a bunch of people going for Halloween and Thanksgiving weekend. All in all, still a nice place to go, but not like it used to be...
