I've sen this on the yota board I go to, it's probably just one of the members here yanking yer chain. Somebody porbably got bored and decided to play a joke here. I don't know though, maybe I'm the dumb one, but I don't think anybody could seriously be like that. Come On, Adison invented the lightbulb? Maybe it's just cause I'm from Jersey that I know that one.

All that it is is cutting the teeth down on the shift start, so that the shifts arent so rough, and it is easier to find neutral. Search, this has been covered alot, I'm new here and I know that. As for the shift star, it should be #4 on the Shift Cam Fork Microfiche, they call it a "segment"

Thanks, I really don't think they're going on, http://www.hy-tech-atv.com/index.html is the link, give 'em a calla nd tell them you need the Ball Joint Boots for Yamahas, I don't remember who I talked to, but he was pretty funny. Any other info on putting the rings back on?

PM sent on carbs, I need 'em. -
Ok, I got my replacement ball joint boots for my stock arms, but I absolutely cannot get on the metal ring. It is a real fawkin pain when everything is covered in grease. My question is do I really need it? The force between the knuckle and the ball joint should hold the boot in place right? I think the ring is there just as some added insurnace but I relly don;t think it's nessiscary. Besides that, 2 out of the 4 rings are bad, and I could not find replacements anywhere for them. I'll take a pic if I'm not being too clear, but it looks like a key ring, and seems to seal the ball joint boot to the a-arm. Thanks,

I saw These Bearings on e-bay, and it is way way cheaper then I could find them elsewhere. ANybody have any experience with these, since they are so much cheaper, are they even worth it, or are they decent. Dealer wanted like 65 for the fronts and 35 for the rears, this is like 40 for both. These are the bearings that go in the front hubs. Thanks!

Wow, not bad at all for a mom bike. Bump for ya, my mom still rides a Yamaha Breeze. -
Bleeding Front Brakes I need some suggestion.
LiftdT4R replied to Turbobanshee_kid's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Just my .02 whenever I do mine, I crack them at the caliper, and hold a coffee can under it, while I pump the brakes. When I go to re-fill them, I just fill the rez, and then use the EZ Bleeder I got from JL ATV to suck out all the air in the lines. It looks like a syringe, and attaches to the bleed valve? on the caliper itself. Whenever you start pulling out brake fluid, you stop, and go to the next one. Works like a charm. Make sure those copper gaskets that you re-use are good, mine leaked. -
Didnt even get a chance to send them out yet, I'm gonna have the dealer take out the bearings, they are friggin' IMPOSSIBLE, I read the clymer, and nobody around here has ever heard of the "bearing removal tool" they speak of, and I can't get their "hit the bearing around the edge with a drift pin until it comes out" to work. But I will absolutely post pics when I get them back, the same guy is doing my pipes too, and he does awesome work. I gotta give him a bump, http://home.earthlink.net/~callmej75/ I met him on the Toyota board I go to, and he has done a few parts for ym truck. Awesome guy, he's located in MD.

So, why is yamaha cutting the banshee?
LiftdT4R replied to Baltour's topic in General Banshee Discussion
hell yeah, you know washington rode a banshee. seriously though, 2 strokes are slowly going to be phased out, look at jetskis and snow mobiles, unfortunate, but no one wants to ix, and the eco-nazis hate the pollution. -
Yeah, I got an e-mail back from them, and they said they should be fine. Just come to think of it though, arent the hubs aluminum? I had them off to do new rotors up front, and my buddy was like "ohh man, that would be sick if you got them powder coated blue to match the bike" So I figured what the hell, being half in the bag and all. I went to look at them today, and they definately look pitted and not rusted. Thanks again, Jay

Ok, I am going to send out my hubs to be pwodercoated, and I didn't want to send the wheel studs out with them. I know this is a stupid question, but what is the easiest way to get the studs out? I have always just pounded them out on other quads, and I'm guessing that is pretty much the only way. If anyone has any suggestions, or could point me to a reference link, that would be awesome. Thanks!

location?

From the pics you sent me, it looked like a real decent bike. If you get desperate, e-mail or PM me, I am in NJ, but I will be down in OC at the end of the month. I am strapped for cash since I am rebuilding my own, but, hit me up if you are anxious to get rid of it. Thanks,
-
if so, I need 'em if no one else wants them.
-
I bought the used one from him. Stand up guy, sent very very fast, and paid for shipping. Thanks dude!!!!
-
Wow, I really don't need another project right now, but hit me up with the price on the blwon motor, I might be interested, where in NY, I go up to Roscoe twice a year. Thanks man!
-
Wow, I guess I cursed the guy I bought it from a little too soon. Thanks guys, I'll tape her up and throw on the gas tank. I took the TORS off my buddies bike, for some reason I don''t remember there being plugs for, and I only remember 2 wires, ohh well was about a year ago, Thnaks again!
-
Allright, I went to put on my IMF tank today, and upon removing the old tank, I noticed sever cut wires, 10 to be exact, all leading out of plug ends. I'm guessing someone removed the TORS, in a real ghetto ass way, but I don't rmember TORS having that many wire going to it. If anyone could shed some light on what the best way to clean this up, or what plugs are cut, it would be greatly appreciated. The pics are below, I have plenty more if needed. Thanks guys! Test Fit with IMF tank and grill: My big problem?:
-
Hmmm, I guess it would make sense to clean the onside out before doing it. They guy doing it told me that the powder was rated to 1400+. SO I think it should be ok. Anyone here powdercoat pipes before?
-
That's what they look like now, also, my lead didn't pan out, anyone know a powdercoater in NJ?
-
I have a pair of FMF Gnarlys on my shee, They are terribly rusted after only 1 year. I usually ride in upstate NY, and camp for about 1 week, so it usually goes that long without being washed. I really want a finish that's going to hold up, but everything is either chrome, or raw. I have a lead on powdercoating, and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to powdercoat hese, will the finish withstand the heat of use? Any other issues I should be worried about? Also, what would be the best way to prep them for powdercoating, just take some steel wool, or emory cloth to them? Thanks in advance for the info!
