  1. I use the redline alky oil @ 20:1 Dave, Its actually easier to get redline then it is klotz... just pick up a phone and you'll have it in 3 days.. lol Summit Racing stocks the redline alky oil. It is more exspensive though.. about 70.00 for a gallon Yah.. I'm not a amsoil fan either.. Everyone and their brother is a "authorized dealer"
  2. The question is.. Are the aftermarket springs really needed? what mods do you have done to the bike.. You might beable to get by with 3 stock springs and 3 HD springs. You could try a aftermarket clutch lever/perch. Jeff @ Fast sells a nice piece and when used with a well lubed cable it isn't nothing to pull all 6 HD springs. Always make sure you cable is well lubed...
  3. Obviously.. you dont know WTF your talking about here and would be best to sit in the corner for awhile with your mouth shut to learn a few things.. A 4mil stroke would rise above the deck regardless of what type of piston is being used. hence the need for cut domes/head or spacer plate. And.. Hillarious knows what is a 4mil and what isn't... He didn't get a chance to pull the motor down right away, and when he did.. thats when he discovered it wasn't a 4mil. Some peoples kids...........
  4. Bel-Ray No-tox moto-cool is blue also.
  5. I used to use realators.. Dont know if you can find them anymore though..
  6. heavy flywheels could have a advantage over lightend at the track as well. The extra crank inertia will help hold rpms at shift points and will give more leverage on the launch (help with boggin at the line). CP had a big write up about this over on PS awhile back. Heavy flywheels also smooth out the powerband and increase traction. Traction is always a good thing. I only use lightend flywheels for dune riding.. I use heavy flywheels for trails and track.
  7. I used to race a 295r that would run consistant low 4.2's Thats what the 4mil cubs around here are runnin... If that R is setup and tuned right.. It will take the stock stroke shee.
  8. yeah... Um.... thats looking to be a few yrs out yet.. lol I'm workin on it though.... I dont know about memorial day.. But I'm doing a trip in june for the atv bash and I'm doing the 4th of july and Labor day.
  9. I'm getting ready to make my reservations and I was just wondering where everyone was staying and when?
  10. 20x10x10 is my favorite for duning.. Slides great since it dont have any sidewall flex and has good straigt line traction. That sidewall starts getting too big it will want to roll when sliding and cornering. Gotta find the happy medium between straight line traction and cornering ability. There is a reason why you dont see MX racers using 22" holeshots on 8" rims. The 21x12x8's on a wide rim will give you a nice wide footprint that will give you great strait line traction but since its a 21" on a wide rim the sidewall will be ruduced allowing better cornering. and I HIGHLY dont suggest super lites for our dunes... its a flat waiting to happen and alot of money out the window. I get nervous just drag racing out there. Ground clearance isn't a issue out here. And Like sheefreak said.. 12pdl is gonna be a lil much for a +6 arm and a 421cub drag racing not to mention it will drag down the big end.
  11. you take them cushion rings and throw them in the garbage...
  12. I've never seen yamaha call it a V-twin.. Cuz it simply isn't.. Its a parallel twin or Inline twin. In a V-twin configuration the pistons move away from each other.. Just like a V8? or V6? The pistons in a banshee share the same plane... so.. .Its not a V. Any mechanic would know this. Sorry for being a smart ass.. it is what it is. Here ya go.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-twin Where does it say V-twin? http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelfeatures/2/0/features.aspx
  13. If your banshee is a V-twin.. You better post up some pics cuz thats one of a kind! If your plugs are oily and wet.. thats rich jetting not your fuel/oil mixture. No reason to lean it back.. You wont gain power and the more oil you got in the motor the better. I run my drag bikes @ 20:1. Motor is clean and I put a full season on a set of plugs. Jetting is everything.
  14. If price isn't a issue.. I too would suggest a FAST clutch.. Its a great kit and its proven. I like the Tusk kits for the budget builds. I've had great luck with mine. They are also a cork based fiber. The only thing I dont like about the Tusk kits is that they use dimpled steels...
  15. You dont always get what you pay for... and I would never let the dealer install anything. They find a way to screw up everything. I worked for a dealership for almost 10yrs.. I know what kind of people they hire to do the service work and most of the time... they couldn't flip a burger let alone wrench.
  16. This isn't true at all... If the clutch is heating.. its slipping or not fully releasing... You probably dont have the clutch properly adjusted, their is other worn clutch componets or your spring tension is not strong enough. I got a tusk kits in 4 other bikes.. all are doing good and their over 4yrs old.
  17. sorry.. that was supposed to be 74.55-74.60mm..
  18. is this a drag race? or a oval?
  19. Cylinders cost the same.. the price difference is going to be the added cost of the head and the increased cost of the pistons.. My next build is going to be a 10mil cub. I'd go for a supercub if someone other then wiseco made a piston for it.
  20. for a 16mil cheetah to be 611cc's it would need a 74.55-74.56mm bore.. That would have to be a special one off custom plate job which it is not.. I'm just stating that the motor in question (trinity 611 cub) is actually a 10mil DM with a standard 78mm bore. and with the DM's... you will have more cost into it. When your pushing 120+hp... no matter how right you do it the first time.. Something will break. Its just a matter of when. They are not a reliable motor and should be tore down often for inspection.
  21. I agree.. I dont blame GB for their choice either.. Can't expect them to sit and wait every year to find out if they need a QB or not. Favre is a Badazz in my book. And he's the last QB from a era that was just amazing to watch.. So when he retires.. so does that era. Then all we'll be left with is a bunch of money hungry babies and premadonnas. (except for a select few)
  22. Favre finished the season 2nd in QB rating behind Brees.. He had a better season then his previous MVP seasons. I dunno.. When Vince Young gets more MVP votes then Favre... Somethings wrong.. lol I'm anti-Manning.. Go saints! lol
  23. chalk another up for a classic air leak.
  24. Title says "trinity 611" thats not a custom ordered motor.. thats a standard 78mm 10mil DM.
  25. Stay away from 22" tires if your going to be duning.. They have too much roll.. Get a set of 10pdl extreme 21x12x8 Try to get them on a 8x9 rim rather then the 8x8's if possible. the 66-68 ro tires will be more universal and give a good tire for both duning and drag racing.
